I'm still attempting to determine if 07 corrected any features that were not in 06. Tilt in reverse side view mirrors. Memory seats that do not require key to be in ignition. Power pedals as part of memory function. Do they claim to have corrected front end "clunk" on roads that are not perfectly smooth. Does 07 have full size spare and same alloy wheel as those on car?
Jazz Fan, Seems about right, I asked for a grey Ltd, Ult. with blk int. Got it for 28,300 + 8.25% tax + Lic + 45 doc fee. The dealer also threw in the mats and the rear trunk "tub" mat.
I would have thought the dealer would have let it go for around $28,000 or so with tax and license. Mine was $28,400 with tax.. license.. Mine had mats thrown in.. I think they are standard on the 07's. I need to get the trunk liner as you described. You know of anyone making custom fit rubber mats for wet weather? Grey with black leather interior is a nice combo..
Oct. 19th 2006. I bought Black/Gray Azera with Ultimate from Amato Hyundai in Milwaukee, WI for 24529 (24400 + 129 Doc/title prep fee). Registered in Michigan so paid 6% tax + plate fee (Had to pay tax on 25529 since $1000 was written up as rebate which I didn't like but that's how they do it in Michigan).
Also bought Hyundai Extended 10/100 warranty for $850(optional) from AMATO MKE. In michigan they wanted $995 at one dealer and $1450 at other.
I flew to MKE airport about 20 min from dealership. Salesman picked me up ontime and they had it all preped and ready with full tank and 13mph lock options. They thru in pinstripe I requested and rear cargo carpet for free. I had them take out wind deflector which is sitting in my garage in case I decide to put it back in future.
Regarding limphome option they told me I can program it my self and did not give me any codes. Still not sure how to program it. (do I need code from them first? help..)
I can't say enough nice things about 2 guys I had pleasure of dealing with. I wish I could post their name so others could get same good deal with excellent service.
I went to the Hyundai web page and sent out for quotes from four dealers here in the Milwaukee area. I am looking for a 07 Limited with the Ultimate pkg. I included what my trade would be. Two have answered back with giving me the car at invoice but need to come in for the trade. One gave me an invoice price of $26,080, well under the invoice price but no trade in value. Still looking for the bottom line. I was at Amato Hyundai this afternoon. They returned a price quote to me yesterday with in 5 hours of my email to them. There email price for the car was $1,138 under invoice price but they then gave me $1,000 less then blue book value for my trade. My car is less then three years old and is show room clean with less the 30,000 miles on it. Was looking for a better price from my salesman this afternoon but no luck. Didn't want to look at my suv and said he gave me the bottom line price. I know he was in between customers so maybe that is why he didn't want to bother. Since this is my first quote I don't know if its good or not. Just struck me funny that I was at the dealership you bought your car from this afternoon. Glad to hear they do the pinstripe there as I really like that as I have seen it at another dealership in the area. Any help on the price anyone is paying for the 07's would be helpful. Enjoy you new car, hope to do the same soon. Don't think I got the salesman you had.
The custom rubber mats are available through Hyundai Canada dealers. Otherwise buy some clear "Rubbermade" mats at Target ($17) and hide them when you go out "on the town". The trunk liner was nice, with the "Azera" embossed title. You did get a great deal
In reading some forums and blogs, it seems that the 06 Azera Limited came with a full sized spare tire mounted on the same alloy rims. I just took delivery of my 07 and it has a donut sized spare. Has anyone else noticed the shortfall and will a full sized spare fit the well under the truck floor? It seems quite a bit larger than the donut sized tire in there now.
Take a good look at the sage green in both bright sun and an overcast day. I almost bought the sage green but it looked quite a bit different under different lighting conditions.
Re #269 I have the sage green/ beige and agree that color looks different in dark or bright light. In bright sun it appears green, and in darker light it appears gray. I find the color changes to be interesting but unusual.
I just felt that the color differences were different enough in bright / overcast light that I did not like how much it changed. I had seen a sage green in bright light and liked it but when I saw it on the dealers lot in overcast light, it looked washed out and dull. So I bought the golden beige.
But it's personal choice in the end. I've had my 07 for a week and I love it.
Thank you for your reply and opinion . I had liked the bright silver untill I saw the sage green and it really caught my eye. I had never seen a sage green untill two weeks ago when I saw the 07's and some dealers had this color. Like you said its personal choice. I have an appointment tomorrow with a dealer and hope to get a deal done by the end of the day. Thanks again.
Color choices are all a matter of opinion. Whatever appeals to you the most is the right choice. The sage looks great when clean, but shows dirt easily. I wash mine every couple of days.
I just picked up a 2006 Limited with the Ultimate package this past Saturday from the dealer. I do have a full size spare with the matching 17 inch alloy wheel. This is like the BMW 528 I once owned. I am happy with this setup...Enjoy it. :shades:
I bought my '07 Azera Limited w/ the Ultimate package October 31 here in the Denver metro area. I paid $27k, got $1.5k in loyalty/other incentives as well as $16.5 for my '06 Sonata LX.
The net impact: it added $60/month to my existing loan, extending that same loan by 12 months.
Just had the Azzie in for service (sunroof adjustment). There was a new Sage Limited, Ultimate package on the floor. The sticker was $30,465. The price for my Limited, Ultimate package in March of this year was $30,075. The only content difference I noticed was the lack of a full size spare on the '07. Could this be called decontenting?
So it would seem, cdmuile. I too got the crummy doughnut-sized spare ... and I could have sworn, while researching a new car, that this had a full-size spare. Now, I can't find that anywhere. Interesting, too, how the wheel well for the spare appears capable of accommodating a full-sized spare.
I bemoaned the fact that the 07 Azera did not have a full sized spare. Called my salesperson and he told me they did drop it for 07 as they found that 06 owners were not using the full sized spare. Jezz-us, how the hell would they know if someone got a flat and needed to swap tires? New full sized rim for the 07 is about $252 and a tire is at least $100 plus. He did say the well on the 07 would fit a full sized tire and rim. I'm buying one, I don't want to have to drive miles on a donut if I get a flat out in the middle of nowhere.
Anyone have a idea to when the 07's will appear on the east coast?
I live in the Carolinas and so far, no 07's to be found anywhere. My dealer says they are only available on the west coast and in the midwest at this time. Can't figure out why Hyundai is holding up delivery to the east. Inventory? Dealers around here do seemingly have a glut of 06's though. One dealer here has about 40 left on their lot!
Currently in negotiations for an Azera but of course, the dealer is trying to stroke out another grand or so! Best deal so far is 26.1K for 06 Limited with Premium (Fitz-mall has same car for 25.8K), but that is not the OTD price. Dealer wants 600 in doc fees! Hah! I asked what exactly does that 600 cover? He replies, and this is no joke, "nothing". He really said "nothing"! So I am supposed to just give you 600 out of the kindness of my heart?
So far, two dealers, same story line here in the Carolinas. 600 doc fees! Why every dealer charges this they tell me!! Coming from New England, this is the first time I have encountered 600 doc fees! I can see 80-100 in doc fees covering titling and such, but 600 and as he said, for nothing! All this and he didn't even attempt to use a gun to rob me! I still think 26.1K is to high for a leftover!
Maybe they will be more willing to deal when they get some 07's? So, does anyone have any info on when the 07's will appear in the southeast? According to Fitz-mall in Maryland, they don't have any either.
RE 285 My local dealer ( South East Florida) claims thay they have not been given a ship or release date for the 07. He says that there is a glut of 06's in inventory in the state. This isn't a great sign for the flagship model of Hyundai. Maybe they should start listening to and responding more to customers and local dealers. Most owners agree that the Azera is good, but that with a little more of something, could be great.
3-4 little things would make the 07 Azera drop dead top of the line. Nav system..better thigh support on front seats. I have the Ultimate package and even with the adjustable pedals, I could use about 3-4 more inches in the driver's seat travel. Different backlite on radio/temp screens to match odometere and tach backlight. I know I'm nitpickin, but these are my observations after 400+ miles in the car.
I personally don't get this explanation and in fact find it quite amazing.
They release 07's to over half the country but not the east coast? I saw were someone bought a 07 in Wisconsin, but don't know of any 07's further east.
Frankly, I've never heard of such a thing. Usually, the dealers are all to anxious to get the new model and thus offer steep discounts on the leftovers. Now in the case of the Azera, Hyundai is holding back the 07's from the most potential buyers in the country! More people live east of the Mississsippi than the rest of the country combined. So, this just makes no sense at all.
One local dealer is advertising on their website that the 07 Azera is "in", but looking at their inventory only shows 4 Azera's and they are all 06's.
I've looked at about 10 dealerships in the Carolinas and Georgia. My closest dealer has the most inventory of Azera's (this dealership has SE's if you can believe that!) while the majority of the other dealers are only showing 1-4 cars in stock!
So I am still puzzled at why Hyundai is holding back the 07's!
I am in the philadelphia region and I know that there are 2 dealerships in the area with 2007 Azeras. One dealership has 2 of them and the other has 4 of them. :-( and they aren't willing to lower the price that much on them. :-( *sigh*
I am from Wisconsin and just bought the 07 last Wednesday.I bought it from Arrow Hyundai in Milwaukee. They have 6 of the 06's left in stock and now have 8 of the 07's in stock.Great dealership. Got full book value for my car and paid invoice on the new one. Sage Green and beige interior. Lots of complements and for the short time I've owned it I just love it. No hold backs in this part of the country.
Hi rutan74 - I've recommended them so many times, I should start asking for a kick back.... I purchased my 2006 SE Premium from Great Lakes Hyundai in Streesboro, OH for $22.6K It also included floormats & sunroof wind deflector (which I'm removing anyway). It was a 8.5 hour trip back to NY, and that includes two stops of 30 minues each. I would imagine that the drive back to the Philly area wouldn't be much more.
They have great deals because of the volume they do, they will find a car for you if they don't have the color / option combo you want (they did for me), they even picked me up at the airport. Heck the airfare was only $100 on Southwest. They currenntly have a few Azera's on ebay. Tom & Andy's cell phone numbers are also on the ebay postings. Good Luck!
I also saw Great Lakes Hyundai in Ohio's price on ebay of 27.2k before TTL for a 2007 azera limited with the ultimate package which is what I am looking for. All the local dealers in Philadelphia won't go below 27.6k without giving me a really hard time. But, a Lehigh Valley Hyundai salesman call me and offered to match the 27.2k price. I am so far very happy. i am going to get the price matching great lakes Hyundai without having to travel 400 miles.
Yesterday I spent a couple hours at Cocoa Hyundai of Florida , trying to get a good deal , from old friend that works as a salesman. Right of the bat I got tick off when he said , write what you want to pay , he gave a tiny tiny tiny bit of paper and don't show me the number. Has anybody gone thru this . I felt uncomfortable . Plus the usual back and forth to the sales manager. Floridabob did your dealership treat you well ?? What is the name, please ?? Does the State of Florida have any good dealership and good service department ?? Thank you Lou
re 294 I purchased my Azera at King Hyundai in Delray. I would not recommend them at all. The only reason I bought there was that they were the only dealer at the time that had Sage Green/ Beige Ultimate in the state. PS. I paid MSRP. I have had the car serviced at Napleton Hyundai in West Palm Beach. The sales Manager is Jeff. Very nice guy. The service and parts departments are cooperative and try their hardest, but unfortunately they are not assisted very well by corporate and must do a lot of trial and error work to solve problems. Apparently, no dealers have been provided with 2007 Azera updates for their computer catalogues.
Lou, I've been thru this kind of "write what you want to pay" so they can take it to the sales manager game in the past (not with Hyundai, though). I wrote $100 and gave him the paper....they were not amused, as I was not amused with their selling techniques.
I would research what dealer invoice is on Edmunds (not the Edmunds market value) less any rebates and propose that number. Many posts have talked about buying an Azera under dealer invoice.
If they want to play these give me a number games and then grind you back and forth, hold your ground or tell them you are leaving. If they think you are really a buyer, they'll work to keep you there.
Lou, did you truly think that things would change? This is still common place with Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc.
Until every car is sold like a Saturn where the price is what it is, pay it or buy a different brand, the automotive industry will always have this negative stigma attached to it
I will say in closing that not all dealers I have purchased from act this way. I had a very positive encounter with the dealer that I bought my 07 Sonata from and also the Kia dealer I dealt with to buy an Optima 2006.5 for my Mother.
Surprise surprise , about a couple of hours ago my friend from Cocoa Hyundai called. They offered 2k more for my Lexus which is what I wanted from the beginning. I will be getting a new 2006 Limited with Ultimate Pkg. , Dark Blue with Black interior. Free change of Oil for Life . I get back a check for $25000.00 and a new Azera , for my 2006 LX470. My insurance is going to drop considerably , and a bit on the tag , no premium gas , plus very expensive trips to the service department. I have to say that I am happy. This past Saturday I test drove an 06 Azera the base model , took it for a along drive , I was very impress . Thanks again , soon we all have something in common to talk about. Lou
Yes the LX470 is an excellent SUV , but my needs have changes . I always wanted a Lexus SUV , just at this time in my life I would like to simplified and at the same time doing it with style , the Azera fits my frame of mind and my wallet at this time. If anybody knows for sure when the 07 are arriving in Florida please let me know. I have not signed any papers yet but they want me drop my LX tomorrow ( Wednesday) while they find a new 2006 Azera Limited with Ultimate Pkg. , in the mean time I will get a free loaner. The salesman mention this drop off , I think they are afraid I might get a better deal somewhere else , I am keeping the title till the final transaction. This method is new to me , any idea why they are doing this ?? All help welcome Lou
I purchased an 2006 Hyundai Azera Limited with the Premium package for 24,000 before TTL from Sussman Hyundai in Philadelphia. After tax title license here in PA, I got it for about 25,640. I shopped around quite a bit and I am pretty sure I got one of the best prices. Seems like 25,000$ for limited with the ultimate package is equally good since the ultimate package costs 1000$ more nice!
Bought 2006 Azera black/gray with ultimate package from Amato Hyundai in Milwaukee from kevin and chris for $24529 out the door + TTL in michigan. $850 for 10 yr. ext warranty. very nice people to deal with. They thru in wheel locks, cargo carpet and wind deflector for sunroof and pinstripe for free.
Bought radio control switch for $72 and installed it in 15 min. now I can change stations.
Spent all night thinking , What if the 07 are a couple weeks away ??? My rear end will be very sore by now. And the colors choice has dwindle from this dealership , first I wanted the Eggplant color, then the Sage also NO GO and now they Dark Blue is in dangerous species list. If they have glut of 2006 Azeras they are leading me to buy the least sold color. I have not bought a vehicle in a while and trusting a dealer still makes me queasy. This early cold 40 degree ( for Florida) morning I'll tell the salesman that I need to wait and see what will happen by mid December the 07 might be in town. Thanks guys and Happy Holidays Lou
Lou, sounds to me like you are far better off waiting for the 2007's to roll into town. The dealers here in Philly have a ton of 2007's so they can't be far behind.
There are subtle changes to the 2007 and, just for the simple fact that it's now November, buying a 2007 will be a smarter purchase for reasons down the road plus I'll bet my wallet that they'll be giving these cars away at 2006 pricing very soon as the year is coming to an end and there is always strong motivation not to let a large number of cars roll into 2007 inventory status.
If you are not in a hurry and can wait another 3-4 weeks, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and can find an awesome deal in the color of your choice
Have you thought about going to a car broker? I got a great deal w/ my first Hyundai, a Sonata, that way. Via google.com, I found www.floridautobrokers.net. It might be worth a call.
Here in the Denver area, both the '06 and '07 the Azera is fairly available, in all colors, based on a search of dealers w/ websites. I counted about 20 Azeras. The least available colors are Sage and Aubergine. If you're curious, just do an Internet search on colorado hyundai dealers.
Hyundai is a far more popular vehicle in FL than here. My parents bought their Sage Azera about 4 weeks ago in Orlando; they live in The Villages.
Good luck finding your dream Azera ... and have a lovely Thanksgiving!
Did you get your 07 Limited with Ultimate Package in the Milwaukee area now (as described in your Oct 31 posting)? I'm here too, looking for the same thing, and for the best price/place to buy....
Hi Susan No have not , I really would like to buy the Azera thru a local dealer preferably Cocoa Hyundai where my friend works . They were giving me a very good trade-in money , I wanted the Azera 2007 but right now they only have the 2006. Even in the 2006 their color selection is puny, I also wanted the the Sage . Before I decide I would like to see the Eggplant color with Black interior. My wife and I took her elderly mother out to eat on Thanksgiving day , hope your meal was better than ours , our turkey was very dry. Lou
I did buy an 07 as you described, Sage Green, beautiful. bought it at Arrow Hyundai on Nov. 9. I got blue book for my car and invoice on the new one. From the people I have talked to they have all said nothing but good things about this dealership which was important to me. And I had to do some dealing before we reached a price I was willing to pay. Bottom line is I am happy with the car and Arrow Hyundai. Hope this helps.

Enjoy you new car, hope to do the same soon. Don't think I got the salesman you had.

Here's to a lovely day!
My salesperson back-pedaled a bit when I expressed surprise that the literature conflicted w/ the reality of the spare tire.
FYI that Nissan Maxima provides a full-size spare w/ the top trim level, and then only w/ an options package.

This early cold 40 degree ( for Florida) morning I'll tell the salesman that I need to wait and see what will happen by mid December the 07 might be in town.
Thanks guys and Happy Holidays
Lou
There are subtle changes to the 2007 and, just for the simple fact that it's now November, buying a 2007 will be a smarter purchase for reasons down the road plus I'll bet my wallet that they'll be giving these cars away at 2006 pricing very soon as the year is coming to an end and there is always strong motivation not to let a large number of cars roll into 2007 inventory status.
If you are not in a hurry and can wait another 3-4 weeks, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and can find an awesome deal in the color of your choice
Hi, Lucky Lou:
Susan
No have not , I really would like to buy the Azera thru a local dealer preferably Cocoa Hyundai where my friend works .
Lou
Won't your local dealer swap with another dealer to get the color of your choice?
