The dealer can't use the wrong residual, or the bank will return the contract for correction.

So, you don't have to worry about 1%... At some point, they will get it right.

It has to either be paid upfront, or rolled into the CAP.

That's just an ad from Nissan. You still have to get the car from a dealer. They are under no obligation to give you that deal. Of course, the price doesn't include tax, title, registration or dealer fees.

Even if you get that deal, you still have to watch out for every other ruse that a dealer might use to increase your price.

Hey guys so I was supposed to pick up a 2018 SV w/ prem package today but it got delayed until Tuesday and now I am thinking about switching to the SL for $100 more and I wanted to see if you think its worth it. The SV with 15k miles they want $300 a month and for the SL they want $400. I think it is a little too much and I kept trying to get them to do $350 but they won't go under $400. I think its because the RV is only 54% for the SL compared to the SV which has a 57% RV. I just really want it for the bose speakers but I also love that it has leather seats and a panoramic sunroof and nicer rims, but $100 more? What do you think? Both are true sign and drive $0.

The higher the trim level, the lower the residual - in general. True with Audi, Honda and Toyota. The higher tech on the higher trim levels goes obsolete quicker. The tech on my daughter's 2014 MINI pales in comparison to my 2016 VW Jetta.

We don't track historical numbers, so can't tell you if the SL residual is equal to or greater than the SV. You are welcome to read back through the 8 pages of posts in this thread and see if it's true.

Hey guys so I was supposed to pick up a 2018 SV w/ prem package today but it got delayed until Tuesday and now I am thinking about switching to the SL for $100 more and I wanted to see if you think its worth it. The SV with 15k miles they want $300 a month and for the SL they want $400. I think it is a little too much and I kept trying to get them to do $350 but they won't go under $400. I think its because the RV is only 54% for the SL compared to the SV which has a 57% RV. I just really want it for the bose speakers but I also love that it has leather seats and a panoramic sunroof and nicer rims, but $100 more? What do you think? Both are true sign and drive $0.

Yeah I guess you are right. I just wanted to know if they are charging me too much or if it's normal to be $400 but it seems like it is normal because of the residual and MSRP. Does the residual percentage of the SL ever go higher than the SV or is it always a lower percentage than the SV? But yes the difference in MSRP is $5000. SV is $30k and SL is $35k. I never understood why a car with less options would be worth 57% of its original value, whereas a car with more options is only worth 54% of its original value. It would make sense for cars with more options to hold their value, but I don't know that's just my opinion.

I thought you were getting a 2017 Rogue?
