    Out of curiosity,
    You mentioned slow moving colors.
What would these include? My wife wants a galaxy grey exterior/ black interior.
I see this combination at every dealer.
  • treepeonytreepeony Member Posts: 15
I am a little confused by how the discount is acheived. Does anyone know? How do they get higher than this? Are these correct?

    factory-> dealer $2000
    coupon $500
    hold back-> $480
  • dashbbdashbb Member Posts: 119
Using a Grand Touring AWD as an example:
    MSRP: $28,560
    Invoice: $26,748
    Holdback: -$802 (3% of Invoice)
Dealer Incentive: -$1000 (cx-7's that have been sitting)
Dealer Incentive: -$2000 (in lieu of 0% financing)
    Bottom-Line: $22,946 ($5,614 below MSRP)

Not sure if it is still around but there was an additional $750 if dealer sold a certain number of units before July 9. May not be anymore because now, Mazda is giving $500 direct to customer as Closeout Bonus Cash.

    Hope this helps.

Well I took the plunge today and got the car. What I bought was CX7 Grand Touring AWD Silver with Black Leather, sunroof/bose package, trailer hitch installed at my request, cargo cover and floor mats. the total price was $24,855 with TTL out the door price was about $26,400. I got 7k on my 05 Ford Focus which I was comfortable with and didnt really bargin for more on. I will pick it up tonight after the trailer hitch is installed. I hope I enjoy.

Thanks, for the source of the discounts ,
Is there any way to determine if the cx-7 has been sitting on the lot long enough?
Is there a certian amount of days?
I'm looking for a galaxy grey /black interior GT awd /sun/bose. I see them on every lot, but don't know if they are desirable or not.
  • dashbbdashbb Member Posts: 119
That is a very nice deal, especially with the trailer hitch with installation, cargo cover & floor mats. Truy incredible! Also nice color combo...Congratulations!! :)
    MSRP = $30,608
    Purchase = $24,855
    Discount = $5,753 off MSRP.
Your Focus wholesale value lists for 7270 so you got a pretty close trade-in value. Nevertheless, this further confirms approx. $5,500 off MSRP on CX-7's.

Congrats! I've got the exact same car/accessories in Galaxy Gray. (And great deal - I paid much more for mine a year ago...)

I am in cali and none of the dealers I have talked to are willing to go lower than invoice minus the $500 coupon. They dont know about any of the incentives like the $1000 or the $2000 that have been mentioned. Are these regional? What am I missing?
  • dallascx7dallascx7 Member Posts: 6
    Sorry to hear about that.

In Dallas Tx got $5500.00 discount.
I got the icy blue one, grand touring fully loaded with navigation, DVD with 2 monitors, chrome wheels. Leasing for 36 month for 260 after $3500.00 down
  • treepeonytreepeony Member Posts: 15
    Finally got my deal.
My wife just drove home with a new liquid plat GT AWD with moonroof/bose package plus remote start.
    $24,500
What was strange was that I did it all by email, and mentioned the coupon in the email asking for the best deal.
He gave me a quote of $25,000. when I got there, he then took off the coupon. wow! The MSRP was 30,530, a discount of $6030 under msrp. Boston area
    thanks everyone for your help!

You Guys are very lucky. I stop by many dealers in L.A. area. No one can offer this kind of good deal. The best I can get $3300 off of MSRP (included the $500 bonus cash from Mazda.)
I am not buying it if I can't get $5000 off. :confuse: :confuse: :confuse: :confuse:

I cant find the 500 discount either. If anyone has a copy or printed a copy could they post or email? I was offered the rebate from another dealer but I cant find it to use with the current dealer IM working with.
  • jjlawyerjjlawyer Member Posts: 17
You have to get the coupon emailed to you by Mazda USA. It has your name on it and the name of the dealer you chose. you need to complete a build your own and you will see a link
  • dallascx7dallascx7 Member Posts: 6
    Thanks for the tip.
I tried to build a car, but no coupon code link came up...

    Any other tips??
  • treepeonytreepeony Member Posts: 15
My recollection is that it doesn't say, hit this link and you'll get a coupon. You sign up online to get news emailed to you and then you get a coupon emailed to you. My coupon had the closest dealer information on it. It was based upon the zip code you entered. The other dealer took my coupon fine, even with different dealer's name on it.
Supposedly, each coupon has a different number on it. And it says you must be the person on the email to use it.

    TOOOO LATE!!

Just chated with Mazdausa on their live chat.
She said that the $500 off ended last friday, now only available $500 off the Tribute.

was wondering if anyone has gotten any good pricing in Minneapolis area?
  • extennyextenny Member Posts: 18
Just got an AWD GT with sunroof package for $5,675 off MSRP last week.
  • fonefixerfonefixer Member Posts: 247
Got $3300.00 off MSRP last October at Morrie's. Appears that about $2300 more off is the norm this month.
  • carbuying101carbuying101 Member Posts: 5
hi extenny, which dealer gave you the 5675 off last week?

What was the price you ended up paying? did it have any other options beside the sunroof package?
  • extennyextenny Member Posts: 18
It was at Morries Mazda. The only other option was a trailer hitch installed by the dealer. The offer was only on the avaiable stock that they had. I think it was 5k off cx7s that had been on the lot more than 90 days and 4k off cx7s on the lot less than 90 days. That discount was also with the $500 Mazda coupon which doesnt seem to be available anymore.
  • extennyextenny Member Posts: 18
total price it think was about 24,855 plus TTL I think MSRP was 30,530. I dont have the paperwork in front of me but that should be pretty accurate. The only additional option was the hitch installed
  • treepeonytreepeony Member Posts: 15
    My own 2 cents.
I wouldn't just wait for an ad. I hadn't seen any local advertisements showing any sales on the CX-7. Just you guys saying that the price should be at least $5500 below MSRP.

I just went to the website and looked at the inventory, and hit the "make an offer" button.

I went to a few dealers who said it was "impossible" to get my target price. But I just kept looking. There are a bunch of dealerships around my area, so it is easy for me to suggest this, but that may not be a real option for everyone.
Maybe I was just lucky to get $6030 below MSRP.
  • carbuying101carbuying101 Member Posts: 5
Thanks for all your help! One last question....were you able to do the 0% (or low) mazda financing?
  • extennyextenny Member Posts: 18
No the purchase wasnt eligable for the 0% low APR offer. I had to obtain financing on my own. If you wanted the finace offer it was only 2k of MSRP instead of 5K.
  • muridayomuridayo Member Posts: 1
here in SoCal, the best deal i've seen so far is the $4000 off MSRP on 5 cars in Long Beach Mazda. I wonder if anybody has had a better deal in the region? Would they match the Texas deal for $5500 off?

    thanks!
  • zoom49zoom49 Member Posts: 76
You may want to try Bob Watts the fleet manager @ Browning in Cerritos. They have a large inventory and if you deal with the fleet department you wont get a run around. Tell him Mr Burton says hi. Good luck!

Check out the dealer ad in Chicago:
    http://www.wilkins-mazda.com/MiscPage_3

Its not just Texas. The key to get this discount is ensure that a vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for more than 3 months.

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to edmunds and have been spending a lot of time reading the posts as I'm interested in picking up a CX-7 GT AWD with moonroof, compass/homelink and preferred package.

I got a quote of $25 196 (including $500 coupon). Off the lot he said it would be $26 950. The dealer is in Michigan.

Is this a good deal? Should I go for it. No other deal seems to be able to match the price.
Are there any additional options any CX-7 owners recommend as a must have? I don't need the navigation as I got a Garmin GPS.

    Thanks

Bought a CX-7 for my wife (B-day gift) yesterday from Bob Penkhus Mazda at Powers Autopark in Colorado Springs... great service and deal. Got it for $4500 below MSRP with no haggling. Haggled some and got another $500 for my trade (more that it's worth), so really got the car for $5k below MSRP... was too late for the $500 online coupon from the Mazda website. If you go to this dealership, ask for Dennis Johnson... older gentleman, super nice guy, no pressure. I even got to meet the dealership's owner.

    Robineh,

Is that with the Technology Package? If so, that's a really nice deal! Back when they first introduced, dealers were only dealing full MSRP. See what one year's difference has brought about?

    Vince.
  • robinehrobineh Member Posts: 6
No that's without the technology package. It includes the moonroof, homelink/compass, and preferred package GT AWD.

It works out to about $5450 off MSRP.

Has anyone here purchased a CX-7 GT AWD in the Buffalo, NY area, or somewhere within 2 hr drive from Buffalo?

I've talked to a few dealers around here and they say that it's impossible to get $5000 off of MSRP. And it looks like there are no $500 off coupons either.. (MSRP is $28,595 right?)

    Thanks,
    ws46
  • robinehrobineh Member Posts: 6
Hey ws46, As I stated in my post I'm getting about $5450 off my GT AWD with moonroof, preferred package and compass homelink. The dealer is just outside the Detroit area so that's not too far from you in Buffalo if you come through Ontario. Especially if you're gonna save a few thousand dollars. I'm planning on buying this week. Just waiting for them to locate the colours I want.

Purchased a 2007 CX-7 Touring AWD True Silver/Black from Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington, VA.

Was able to get $5500 off MSRP ($29,800) for a total OTD price of $25,508.07

My experience was great! Dealership was professional and easy to deal with and I love my car!! Upgraded from a 2001 Honda Civic so I'm in heaven
  • ws46ws46 Member Posts: 28
Hi Robineh, thanks for the reply. Can you tell me which dealership's it is? I'd like to get a quote from them. Looks like the CX-7 you are getting is what I am looking for as well. Thanks!

If I can save $3000, then it's definitely worth the 4 1/2 hr drive. ;)
  • ws46ws46 Member Posts: 28
Hi treepeony, at which dealer were you able to get this incredible deal? Did you have to go through several rounds of negotiation?

    ws46
  • treepeonytreepeony Member Posts: 15
Not much negotiation. Quirk Mazda in Quincy Ma.
I pretty much explained what I did in the earlier post.

    Treepeony, thanks for the info.
    I've put in an offer.

Looks like I might be driving 8 hrs to MA if I don't get a deal here in Buffalo.

Just curious, how much did you end up paying total?
    (tax,tag, fees, etc..)

  • ws46ws46 Member Posts: 28
    Robineh,

Can you tell me which dealership is offering this deal? I'd actually prefer to drive to Detroit than to drive 3 hrs more to get to MA.

I am looking for a AWD GT in copper red.

    thanks.

I've got a host of quotes right around 28K...Got one for $27,850 thinking of taking depending on my trade value...
Is that a good deal for Grand Touring with the Tech Pkg.

I was thinking this time of year the prices would be a little better with good finance terms as well...Am I wrong?
