ZS, where are you getting these quotes from? It's better than what I am seeing in western New York and PA. Looks like I'll be buying mine from out-of-state.
I showed one of the car dealers here the $5500 off MSRP ad for CX-7's in Texas and they said that it was incredible deal.
Also, it looks like Ford employees and friends get additional discounts too.
FYI, It looks like Mazda dealers take Ford S-Plan discounts. I think you need to get a PIN from an employee or a distributor who deals with Ford.
ws46
S-Plan: Mazda: Pricing is just below the “dealer invoice” price. The S-Plan price is noted on the dealer's copy of the invoice.
X-Plan: Ford, Lincoln & Mercury: Ford Employee (A-Plan) price plus 4% Volvo: Ford Employee (A-Plan) price plus 2% Land Rover: Dealer Invoice price plus 4% (of MSRP)
I stumbled across the cx-7 not long ago and ended up sitting down w/ a salesperson last night.
They've got two I'm interested in and would be willing to pick up either one of them, please post your opinions.
Both are CX-7, grand touring, 2wd...
one has 3800 miles, dealer manager racked up the miles, and has the moon roof/bose package. msrp $28500, they have it red tagged at 24000 and I got them down to 23000. I'm asking for them to get me out the door at 23000, thus they pick up ttl.
the other is the same car w/ 400 miles and no moon roof/bose package, i believe it msrp's at 26900 and they offered it up at 22000. I told them I'd take it at 22000 w/ them eating ttl.
ttl in Texas comes out to be $1700-1800.
The non mr/bose package has been on the lot since Aug 06. Am I asking too much off? I really think that me asking for an additional $1700 dollars isn't going to break the bank for them plus they have vested interest in moving an 07 that has been sitting since Aug 06 and a 07 w/ 3800 miles on it.
Yes, agree with pctech. One year with my moonroof, and no problems. Although I'd arguably say the Bose is more important - the thing rocks for a stock system.
Can't really comment on the prices, though I'm jealous: dealers were NOT going under invoice a year ago.
Atleast until last week, most cx-7's were going for $5500.00 off MSRP. MSRP of $28,500 is of course $23,000 brand new. I would insist they pick up the TTL on the 3800 mile model.
The 400 mile model is probably the better deal(as long as you don't mind less MR/bose) if the dealer picks up TTL.
Is Mazda currently offering cash back and low APR? I'm seeing low APR here at Edmunds with no cash back but everyone seems to be getting tremendous discounts from MSRP. Is anyone getting this and low APR financing? Thanks.
Well, after spending a considerable amount of time speaking to various dealers and trolling this forum, and driving my girlfriend crazy.. this is what I've learned.
(If I am wrong and you can actually get a better deal than what I think is possible, please let me know. I would love to be wrong.. as I haven't bought the CX-7 GT AWD yet.)
It could be that some regions are getting better deals than what I can find in the dealerships located in NY, NJ, MI, PA, MA. (Like that crazy CX-7 discount advertising in the TX news that was posted here earlier..)
1. You have the option of taking the unannounced $2000 cash-back _OR_ the 0% APR for the CX-7's. You can't do both.
2. If you can get hold of a Ford employee S-plan discount pin number, then you can get car at the listed invoice price.. (I don't think you can get do much better.)
3. There is a Hold Back of $544, which the dealers are willing to split with you.
So for example, if you are willing to take their financing, and you either get the Ford S-plan PIN number or negotiate with the dealer to get the price down to invoice, then you'll have $4000 below MSRP. Oh, and the split of the holdback, which is another $270 or so.
4. $1000 MAC incentive (without 0% financing). 5. $1000 dealer incentive for cx-7's that have been sitting for a while (90 days, I believe). = $6000 off MSRP + split holdback = $6250 off MSRP + $500 closeout coupon = $6750 off MSRP. Best value on a midsize crossover utility, period!
Key is to find that 1 CX-7 that fits this criteria. Any Copper Red or Pearl White CX-7 is a good candidate.
What is the MAC incentive, and how do I get it? How do you find out how long the car has been sitting in the lot? Do you just flat out ask the dealer?
What is the $500 coupon? I thought this was something that expired earlier this month.
If this info is posted elsewhere on this forum, please let me know. I've read this thread back and forth, and I didn't see that info.. (If I missed it, then my apologies.)
This is just me venting out of sheer frustration, so don't take this the wrong way. Hopefully it'll provide an insight into the ordeal of shopping for the best price via phone/email.. especially with dealerships that are a long drive away.
It's been difficult getting reasonable quotes, especially over e-mail and phone.
When I talk to some of the dealers (both in person and on the phone), if I mention anything like $4000 off of MSRP, they get upset and say that I am offensively low balling the figure and that it's impossible.
Just finding dealers who are willing to admit to the $2000 off has been a challenge, especially since CX-7's are selling well in this area.
Country's largest (or east coast's largest) Wayne Mazda in NJ, which is like 6 hours away for me have given me quotes for $4000 off of MSRP, and has neglected to tell me that I can't get 0% financing. (Luckily, I found this out before driving 6 hrs down there.)
Another problem is that there aren't many Mazda dealers around Buffalo, and the two that are in this area say that they have been selling CX-7 AWD GT's well.
I would have to drive 6 hrs to get to a dealer who's willing to give me a decent quote over the phone. (I never receive detailed, itemized quotes via e-mail from them, even if I ask very nicely.)
If there is a bait-and-switch, mixup, or a "surprise" fee, I can walk out of the dealership, and then proceed to drive 6 hours back home.
So maybe it's a regional thing. I guess it's good to be in Texas when you are shopping for CX-7's right now.
Hi Zach, is that the OTD price? or before tax and fees?
..and where are you getting these deals? I've called a few dealers in the NY/NJ area and no one's offering to sell it far below invoice. $28.5 + tax & fees = $31k+ is the best offer I got for the fully loaded GT AWD w/TECH
I hate to haggle and will probably end up buying a 2008 model using the s-plan program.
Anyone know of a better deal in the NY/NJ area? :confuse:
I'm getting the basic package, so far this is the best quote:
O.K. DIANA, I THINK I'VE DONE GOOD. THERE IS AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CX-7 SPORT AVAILABLE THAT IS BLACK CHERRY IN COLOR AND THE BREAKDOWN GOES AS FOLLOWS: YOUR PRICE: $22,130.00 DOC: 58.48 EFF: 25.00 _________ $22,713.48 6.5% TAX: 1476.38 _________ $24,189.86 LIC: 80.00 _________ $24,269.86 S PLAN: -500.00 _________ $23,769.86 OUT THE DOOR
I just picked up a 2007 CX-7 GT AWD with moonroof/BOSE, compass/homelink, preferred package, all weather mats and IPOD adaptor for $25220 + ttl. Out the door it was $27126. MSRP was $30903 + ttl. That's $5683 off MSPR with S-plan Ford pricing. Sometimes you can get the dealer to help you get S-Plan pricing. I have family that has one, but if you can get a PIN then you can should be able to save at least $5500 off MSRP especially now that the 2007 model year has come to an end. This dealer was in Michigan and I think it's worth the drive if you're in NY. Best of luck. Robineh
I will think twice whether I can live w/CEL on new CX-7 Seems to me Mazda can't fix it yet. The Mazda dealer in my area played with the Conquest Rebate. They won't take 1000 cash instead 1000 Conquest Rebate, claiming they get more than 1000 from Mazda w/rebate. Plus, some mentioned the turbo lag and hard suspension. I leased a Honda Odyssey instead.
Good luck with your minivan. And don't worry about what others think of you for driving it. Minivans are so ubiquitous they are not even noticed these days.
hey guys I got this deal from a local dealer: cx-7 GT with tech package, sirius radio and homelink mirror - msrp 33,240. I got it for 28,700 drive out. However, they said they can't get me 4.9% for 60 months even my credit is excellent. Is this a good deal. thanks
"Drive out" is hard to determine without knowing the details. If your price before Tax, title, licence, doc fees is around $27,000 then yes, it is a good deal!
What dealer in Ga if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking into buying a CX-7 but have not decided on a package yet. So far the best deal I've gotten offered is on a Sport in SC for walkout total of $4000 below MSRP
Hey, I worked out a great deal on a 2007 CX7 GT AWD with the bose/sunroof pkg for $24,180 + ttl. Since I can't use the special financing with this deal, I went through Costco and got an awesome rate. The problem is the dealer is refusing to take it...Costco basically gives you a blank check you use to pay for the car, so to the dealer it's basically the same as a cash transaction. I talked to Costco about it and they said a few dealers refuse it (they said about 1%) because they don't get a kickback on it like normal financing (which is why the rate is lower).
I'm checking with other dealers in the area to see if they can give me the same deal and take the financing but stock is running low on 2007s here so I don't think I'm going to be able to find the same deal anywhere else. Any ideas?
What really bugs me is that the dealer I'm using is part of the Costco auto buying program but yet they don't take the Costco financing!
(Edit: I got the e-mails of the general manager, general sales manager, and sales manager from the dealer website and left them polite messages asking if they want my business...we'll see if that helps.)
Hi guys, got my CX-7 GT w/ moonroof/Bose package last month for $5500 off MSRP + TTL here in TX. The dealer did rip me off by giving me a very high apr, 7.7%, though I refinanced to a lower apr later.
I've been reading in this forum that CX-7 are on sale at this discount, that is one of the reasons I can get this price. :shades:
I just got a GT with Bose/Moonroof, Sirius Sat., and preferred package for $25000 drive off. That's roughly $22900 before tax and fees. This is $6300 off MSRP. You just have to work the dealers over and buy at the end of the month.
A little FYI, because of the deals they are offering on the 6 they have to sell a certain number of Mazdas (no matter the model) to get a rebate back from the manufacturer on the 6. They will sell a CX-7 at a loss if it means they will have a sale to meet their monthly goal and get the rebates on the 6. The dealer informed me of this after we worked out our deal. This explained why most other dealers would not go under $5000 off MSRP. You just got to play the game :shades:
Still can't believe wife and I got this w/a tech package & AWD for a mid $200 monthly payment! I made sure that the dealer wasn't making any extra money, there wasn't anything but negative revenue in the "gross screen" (dealer uses a software called ADP and can reveal if there's money in the deal by checking this screen).
Congratulations! That is a sweet lease deal!! In fact, the residuals are very good on the CX-7's. According to Automotive Lease Guide (ALG), CX-7 has a higher residual value (4-stars) than even the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Nissan Murano, Honda Pilot and even Toyota Highlander (all 3-stars).
Here's the lease deal I just got in Wayne Mazda in Wayne, NJ.
2007 CX7 GT w/moonroof and Bose,6 cd changer true silver w/black leather 24 mths., 12 000 miles/year

This is after a test drive and spending a couple hours haggling on the price. They started at $450 a month with $1100 due at signing. I see others have gotten below invoice in other states, I don't think this would have been possible based on Edmunds TMV pricing for my area. I feel good about this deal as I didn't have to spend a huge amount of time and energy talking to several dealers. Time is money!
Hi. That deal sounds perfect, what dealer was that from, did you get similar quotes from other dealers? I'm located in Indiana and I'm looking for the lowest price on an GT with Bose system. :confuse:
I am in the process of negotiating a lease for a Mazda GT CX-7 with Tech Package. What would a good 2 or 3 year lease with 12, 000 mi per year come to monetarily. Cap Cost Money Factor Residual fee per month? I am currently dealing with Wayne Mazda, NJ as well.
Excellent deal. Would you mind sharing the dealer name, and the name of the salesman. I'm in Houston and ready to buy one this weekend. Thanks in advance!
I bought an 08 GT w/ Tech pkg (silver/sand) on Fri 9/28; in Jacksonville, FL, Duval Mazda/Avenues. MSRP w/ dealer options $31995; negot to $28,400. (Own financing thru credit union, 5.25 @ 60 months.) Very pleased w/ salesman, dealership, and vehicle! Thanks to all on this site - the research I had from the TMV and the info on posts helped me to know what options I did want, didnt need, what I should pay for them. Replaced an 03 Toyota 4Runner - very happy w/ the drivability/pick up/comfort of the CX7.
Just leased my 2008 CX-7 FWD Touring, Black with Homelink/Compass rearview mirror, bumper guard and wheel locks MSRP of $26545 from Gunther Mazda in Fort Lauderdale, FL with the following terms.
MSRP $26,545 Cap Cost $24,300 Res. Value 57% Money Factor .00114 For 36 months 15,000mi/yr For $318.92/months tax in (sales tax is 6% in my county) I also bought the extra 9,000 miles to extend my 36mo/36,000mi manuf. warranty to 36mo/45,000mi warranty for an extra $490 total raising my monthly payments to $334/month.
$1,000 out of pocket covering 1st Mo., TTL & Dealer fee only.
I just went to test drive the CX7 this weekend and am just starting to get prices. They gave me a starting price of $27,430 to buy an '08 CX7 Touring with Sunroof. Just wanted to hear what people in the area are paying and what they think of this price?
