I think numbers are right, but wondering if good deal or should try for more?

The numbers look good. Even if you add the $599 dealer fee to the selling price, that's a discount of $1600. That's not too bad on a model with no incentives.
You should always try for more... All they can say is no.
This is my first lease, could use some helps here. I'm looking at Touring trim with preferred package; 36 mo / 12000 mi, 98105 Here's what I got from dealer: MSRP: 29690 LEV%: 60 Ini cap: 28777 acq: 595 doc: 150 adj cap: 29522 lease factor: .00078 <- could this be down to.00068? tax: 10.4% base monthly/total monthly: 362.14/399.8 license fee: 515.75 <- could be lower due at start: 915.55
I'm not sure if this is a good deal, I guess there should be some room to go little lower? Any suggestions?

Base MF is .00018, so the dealer is marking that up the max allowed; that is adding $31/mo to the payment

Hi Guys... I'm looking to lease a 2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring in California. I'm looking at $1000 down and I still have around $665 left on my current lease. I got this breakdown from the dealership. Is this correct? is this a good deal? What can be better? Thanks! I appreciate your input.

Thanks for your response and for checking. I obviously would like the discount to be more. How much more do you think I can negotiate the discount?
Also, I'm confused as to why the Down/Cash cap reduction is only -636.98. Shouldn't that be -1000 since imputting 1K down?

We don't track pricing, so can't tell you how much lower you can get the price. I do know that if you don't ask, you don't get.
The balance of the $1000 is likely some fees and such.
A Wall Street Journal reporter is hoping to find a recent buyer that would be willing to talk about their experience at the dealership, specifically about how/if the salesperson explained car safety systems during the purchase process. She's hoping to ask a few questions about how the dealer explained the ADAS package, tried to sell it to them, demonstrated how it worked, etc. Please send a note to pr@edmunds.com by next Friday 2/23/18

MSRP: $29,855 Selling Price: $27,127 Doc/Destination/Registration: $1,393 (From my understanding Registration in NJ is $60) Tax: $630
Can you please comment on this lease deal. Is it good? Zip: 94086 2018 CX5 FWD Touring with Preferred Options package for 12K/36m.
$0 down. $0 Drive off. Everything rolled into lease payments. $289 + tax (After tax: $313.5) for 35 months. First month waived.
Total cost for 3 years = $10,115 (After tax: $10,974) MF: 0.00018 RV: 60% Acquisition: $595 (included).
What is the MSRP?
MSRP: $28,390 incl. destination fee
CAP cost of $27,200 to get to $289/mo.+tax.
Considering acquisition and CA DMV/doc fees, and rolling in the first payment ($1200?), that looks like a really good deal.
Thank you very much. I got the car today. Upon visit, dealer tried to play me by taking out DMV fees, but I was firm on $0 drive off and monthly payment promised over phone. They agreed finally.
This forum was very helpful for me in navigating through the hassle associated with leasing. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

On a lease, I think NJ collect registration for three years.. It's around $300. Dealer fees tend to be $300-$400 in NJ Seems doubtful they broke out the destination fee? Is that the $595 acquisition fee, maybe?

You're right it probably is acq fee. I may have misspoken it. They didn't list the fees individually. I just calculated them individually. Since I had the selling price and the tax rate. The doc fees seemed a little high, but the selling price seems more than fair so maybe that's why there was some offset? Thanks for the comments and help!

@cx5hunter ................... What dealers did u contact in NJ ? which one did u purchase from?
I had a weird experience. Anyone want to venture a guess as to why? I haggled my selling price to what i was comfortable with, and then calculated payment using the best MF of .00018. My credit score is 800+
At the dealership we went over it again and all was well. Once I got to financing they had LOWERED the selling price of the car by about $700....then raised the MF to where the rent charge went up by $700. Net payment was still exactly the same so I signed anyway.

Why would they do this?
Because the finance manager will get a bigger commission, at the expense of the salesperson.
So long as the payment is the same, it doesn't matter to you.
Salesperson will find out about this in their pay packet.
Looking at leasing for 36/10k a Grand Touring AWD either with or without the $1,395 Premium package in Baltimore, MD. What are the manufacturer's MF, RP and cash incentives? Is this the same as in the Washington, DC metro area? Also, Maryland taxes every lease payment at 6%. Do you know if that is considered in the Edmunds lease calculator if I enter a Maryland zip code? It doesn't seem to. Thanks.

.00018 MF and 57% residual for 36/15 $200 lease cash
MD actually taxes the full selling price of the vehicle at 6%. (so, at least $50/mo. in tax) I doubt the lease calculator will properly account for taxes, considering the tax method in MD. Doesn't matter how DC taxes, as you'll pay taxes where you register the car.

Georgia, 7% sales tax on leased portion only. No limit on document fees so going rate is $599. Acquisition is $595.
I think numbers are right, but wondering if good deal or should try for more?

The numbers look good. Even if you add the $599 dealer fee to the selling price, that's a discount of $1600. That's not too bad on a model with no incentives.
You should always try for more... All they can say is no.
