Hello. Would appreciate your help in pricing out a lease on a A5 sportback Premium plus with a MSRP of $51,000 and sales price of $47,000. I tried using the lease calculator and the numbers don't look right. 36 months, 10,000 miles in Virginia. Dealer doc fee of $599, taxes (4.2%?) and non tax fees of $1000. Was planning on putting down only first months payment and the necessary fees. What do you get for a monthly on this? Thanks!

I am still learning a lot about the lease process and this forum is incredibly helpful. Thank you. I called a dealer in NY today to inquire about an “early termination” special. I lease a 2015 Q5 from them which is up in August and they said they they would pay my remaining payments, apply any equity I had, and put me in a new lease. I inquired about a P+ A5 Sportback in their inventory for 36/15k. MSRP is $52,340. Asked what cap cost was and he told me $43,500. $42,500 with loyalty incentive. With $3000 down he said monthly would be $680. That sounded crazy high to me considering residual is 58%. He said MF was .00250 which is higher than what was mentioned on this forum. Refused to send me a snapshot of his offer. Any idea what I am missing? Does this deal sound right? Maybe I am not counting fees or taxes properly because when I plug everything into the Edmunds lease calculator I get around $550 per month, which dealer said no way to. Thanks for your help!

.00205 MF and 55% residual (not 58%)
I don't believe you can get a $52K A5 Sportback for $9K off MSRP. Since he won't send you the paperwork, I would assume that isn't true.
Thanks kyfdx. I fugured that cap cost was way good to be true. Can I ask, when using the lease calculator tool, how can I figure out what to out in for “title, registration and other fees” and “acquisition fee”?

Acquisition fee is $895 NY fees are about $300 for everything else
Thanks. Last question (for now at least ;-) Any idea why Edmunds automatically plugs in $43,221 as the cap cost in the lease estimate tool when you select A5 SB P+? I feel like I am going crazy because that is pretty much in line with the $43,500 cap cost that the dealer quoted me.

Can't help you with the assumptions the on-line calculator makes; I built my own, so I can control all the fixed amounts and variables.

Thanks for the help on this. I've seen other posts with monthly payments in the $600s, what would the selling price need to be to get a monthly in the $6s? I imagine the sales price would need to be below $45k, is that a reasonable expectation?

I don't recall too many prices in the $600s, without $3000 down.. (which drops the payment by about $90/mo.)
The lease program for this model is not good. Every $1000 lower will save you about $30/mo. If you can get in the $600s, that's great, but it's likely to be $699/mo.
Doesn't look like an AFS lease .00205 MF and 58% residual
$1802 seems like a lot for DMV and bank fee. Don't know what bank or bank fee that lease is for, but AFS acq.fee is $895. NY total dealer/ DMV fees shouldn't be over $350.
I decided to purchase the A5 sportback instead of leasing with the high MF. Anyways this is what i got 2018 A5 Sportback Premium plus Nav Package Vent and heated seats S line package MSRP was 54,200 I got it for 53k OTD nothing down. with WV taxes

Hello, Does Audi have MSD program? if not, how does the MF change for each additional security deposit? I am interested in A5 Sportsback 3year / 15k miles per year

9 MSDs X .00005 reduction each, for total reduction of .00045.
Thank you Michaell! Would you or one of the other Mods mind providing feedback on a quote I got recently from a local dealer?
I'm not a moderator, just a consumer like you. But here are my observations:
For starters, I see $998 in total fluff with those "appearance protection" and "dent protection" packages. That is a common AutoNation tactic; they tried it on me too. They claimed the package was "applied to every vehicle entering at port." Demand they get rid of it or you will walk. It's nearly worthless. My salesperson resisted, but the manager caved right away. Secondly, you need more off MSRP, even with a sportback. I would push for at least another $1,000 off before you negotiate any further. See what you can get and what you're happy with, but I think there's more room there, though not a ton. Third, ask them for the money factor, residual value, and acquisition fee they're using to come up with those numbers. Look through this Edmunds forum and see what your base numbers should be. My AutoNation dealer pushed back hard, but eventually gave them to me. On my offer, they inflated the acquisition fee, quoted the wrong residual value, and nearly doubled the money factor. Understand they can inflate the money factor for profit, but you don't have to agree to it. Next, make sure you know the sales tax rate for your area and how it is applied to new vehicle leases. Make sure it is properly applied to your lease quote. I don't have personal experience with the sportback, but I do know the lease deals are not very good compared to other Audi models. As long as you're happy with the deal you negotiated, go for it.

Not a lot to add to the comments above, but, in typical AutoNation fashion, they give you all the correct numbers for a purchase (note the "purchase option" heading), then throw some lease payment numbers that don't really tie to those prices.
We do recommend 6% off MSRP as the selling price, but, as noted, the SB is quite popular, so you may have to settle for less.
I don't believe Audi allows the acquisition fee to be marked up. MF can be marked up as much as .00125, so beware of that.
At the end of the day, if they aren't transparent with the numbers, simply walk and find a dealer willing to play ball.
Comments
In typical Audi fashion, a pretty crappy money factor; however, I'm pleasantly surprised by the residual.
By the way, are the MF and residuals different for the Prestige Trim or are they the same as the Premium Plus trim?
