MF goes up, and residual goes down.

Best to stick with 36 months - that is the sweet spot for Honda.

Thanks, here in NOVA I have an offer of $508/36mos (12k miles) with $0 down. Then retained a lease broker to find the best deal and he returned $474/36mos with $3K down. Neither of these seem decent given the MF and residual you provided, or do you think these are reasonable offers?

If you amortize the $3K over the lease, that broker offer goes to over $550/mo. Broker has to make money somewhere.


If you can give us the MSRP and selling price and/or adjusted cap cost, we can model the payment for you.

VA is going to be expensive to lease, given the tax situation.

Thanks for your help. The MSRP is $42.5K and selling price is $38.5k.

The VA tax is bad, but I could try to look at dealers in nearby areas (MD/DE/PA/WV) if their tax structure would significantly lower costs.

If you live in VA, I don't think there is any way around the taxes.

With those prices, I get $426/mo.

Ask the dealer what the cap cost is for their quote, with taxes and fees added in - and make sure you get an itemized breakdown of them.

Those are the correct numbers if the security deposit is waived.

What is the MSRP?

That is a "standard" money factor, and Honda dealers can mark it up for extra profit. It's rare for a Honda dealer to do that.

But, if you are tier 4, you are tier 4. Doesn't matter where you fall in the tier.

They may have an upper limit... for most makes, it is 99K miles total.

But, I don't know Honda's max number.

Anybody negotiate a good deal lately? I had started looking elsewhere earlier in the year since Honda didn't seem to be willing to offer anything worthwhile on the Ridgeline - but now my lease is coming up due in September so I need to start making some decisions.
