If you are going to do MSDs, might as well go "whole hog", and put up $6500 more to lower the money factor by .00045.

(.00078 to .00033)

That would drop the payment by about $37-$40 per month.

@Michaell is suggesting adding some cash to the deal, to get the payment below $500/mo. (in this case, $100 more upfront would do it). With the resulting payment under $500/mo, each MSD would only be $500, instead of $550, leaving you with $400 less out of pocket ($500 of deposits, less the $100 extra you put upfront).

Considering the $2K dealer incentive, and it being last year's model, I'd want a bigger discount.

If $3000 exactly covered taxes, fees and first payment ($3000 probably not enough), then the payment should be $657/mo.

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost and the calculations, then push for a bigger discount. You aren't far off of a decent deal, though.
