Dealer is giving me 2 different selling prices for xc90 (about 1875 apart) depending on if I lease or I purchase. They are both discounted but I entered this deal thinking I knew the selling price . But, once he knew I was leasing it seems the selling price changed. He says there are different programs for leasing an selling. I thought the selling price was the negotiated price and it should not make a difference. Should it make a difference or are there certain current lease /sale manufacturer incentives that would make this plausible?

Thanks....but not sure what to do with that info. Does that substantiate the notion that the incentives to sell are better than to lease and the lease "sale price" of approximately 2k more is legit? I think you mentioned somewhere else that usually the incentives are stronger on the lease side. SO this would be reversed. Basically, I was curious if I was to know if I should be satisfied with the sale price used to calculate the lease or should I insist it is lowered to match the sale price as if I was buying. Overall, still a decent discount but since it was a almost 2k difference, I did not want to leave it on the table if I should not.

All things being equal, the purchase price should be $1750 less than if you are leasing, given the difference in the incentives.

Yes, that supports the notion that the price you've been offered is legit.

Is it as good as you could get? That we don't know - we don't track pricing.

THank you for your help. I ended up leasing the XC90 and their "lease sale" price. I still thught it was a good deal. Couldnt have done it withut the valuable help here. Now, need to turn my attention to next car lease ending in 2 months ....so, see you in a few weeks on one of the other car forums.
