Thank you for the prompt reply..

I was curious, I was offered a dealer incentive in the month of December that says it expired on the 31st of December.

Is it common for Dealerships to extend their dealer incentive offer time or is it truly unique?

The dealer incentive was a "Preferred Customer Bonus" sent by mail as my lease on my E400 is ending in a few months.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Thank You,

That's not really what I would call an incentive. Just an advertisement. If it's not an incentive from Mercedes, then it's just a dealer discount from MSRP.

My point is that your "offer" didn't really mean anything to start with, because you don't know what sort of discount they were offering on the vehicle.

But, on the positive side, there has been no changes to actual Mercedes incentives from December to January. So, any deal you could have made last month, should still be able to be made, this month.

    Thank You,

I have been to about 8 dealerships in So Cal for this car and it is a nightmare to understand how each and everyone of them change their pricing so dramatically.

    I want to give you two scenarios and hear your thoughts;

    Dealership 1:
    E450C 2019
    MSRP: $70,445.00
Sale Price: $63,460 (At first they told me $59,990 but said that included Cap Cost Reduction)
MF: .00063 (Now agreed to this after they initially said .00212 with the $59,990 price above)
    Residual: 52%
    Terms: 12/36
    Acq. fee: $795
Registration: $717 (every dealership gives this a different number)
    Down Payment: $5000
    Total Drive Off: $7114
    Payment W/ Tax $784

    Dealership 2:
    E450C 2019
    MSRP: $65,215
    Selling Price: $58,700
    MF: .00063
    Residual: 52%
    Terms: 12/36
    Acq Fee: $1095
    Registration: $619
    Doc Fee: $85
    Flat Ad/County Fee: $11
    Tire Fee: $8.50
    Electronic Filing Fee: $30.00
    Smog Abatement Fee: $20.00
    1st Month Payment: $730.47
    Fees & Insurance: $773.75
    Upfront Tax: $379.06
    Cap Reduction (Cash): $3,905
    Total Drive Off: $5,788.28
    Payment Monthly W/ Tax: $730.47

I am so confused by both offers so any help would be appreciated.

    On another note, I found another one and can you tell me if these numbers make sense;

    MSRP: $69,405
Sale Price: $61,000 (12% off MSRP - I believe this is doable?)
Cap Cost Reduction: $5000 (down payment)
    MF: .00063
    Doc: $80
    Acq. Fee: $795
    Terms: 12/36
    Residual: 52%
    Registration: $717
    Tax: 7.75%
    Total Drive: $6884
    Monthly W/ Tax: $690

What is realistic as this is such a nightmare!

I truly appreciate this site as I have a lot more confidence going into these negotiations, but still get so confused as to how they do their numbers.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
CA DMV charges vary by MSRP.
In general, they add up to about 1.1% of MSRP
CA dealer doc fee is restricted to $80 max
MBFS acquisition fee is $795. Dealers are permitted to mark it up to $1095, for extra profit.

I'm not sure why you are confused. All of those deals are fairly similar, and mostly vary due to the difference in MSRP. Dealers are independent and prices are agreed to by negotiation. I wouldn't expect them to all be the same.

    36 month lease, 10K miles a year.

    The base MF is .00056
The money factor markup is adding $53/mo. to the payment
Selling price is just 5.3% off MSRP. That's not amazing, and certainly shouldn't come with a money factor bump.
None of the other numbers look out of line.

It's weird that the money factor they used goes out to 6 digits. I've never seen that before.

Sorry, but the reason I ask is that some of these sakes guys say a $680-700 a month price on this car is impossible. However when I punch these numbers in every calculator online, it shows I am right around that price.

    $5000 CAP reduction
    $800 DMV/doc
$387 upfront tax on CAP reduction
    $706/mo. 1st payment (including tax)
    $6893 due at signing.

    $655/mo,+tax = $706/mo.

You are assuming a very large discount from MSRP. If that's lower than a dealer will go, instead of telling you that, they agree to it, but then markup the money factor. (most likely).

    I want to give you two scenarios and hear your thoughts;

    Dealership 1:
    E450C 2019
    MSRP: $70,445.00
Sale Price: $63,460 (At first they told me $59,990 but said that included Cap Cost Reduction)
MF: .00063 (Now agreed to this after they initially said .00212 with the $59,990 price above)
    Residual: 52%
    Terms: 12/36
    Acq. fee: $795
Registration: $717 (every dealership gives this a different number)
    Down Payment: $5000
    Total Drive Off: $7114
    Payment W/ Tax $784

    Dealership 2:
    E450C 2019
    MSRP: $65,215
    Selling Price: $58,700
    MF: .00063
    Residual: 52%
    Terms: 12/36
    Acq Fee: $1095
    Registration: $619
    Doc Fee: $85
    Flat Ad/County Fee: $11
    Tire Fee: $8.50
    Electronic Filing Fee: $30.00
    Smog Abatement Fee: $20.00
    1st Month Payment: $730.47
    Fees & Insurance: $773.75
    Upfront Tax: $379.06
    Cap Reduction (Cash): $3,905
    Total Drive Off: $5,788.28
    Payment Monthly W/ Tax: $730.47

I am so confused by both offers so any help would be appreciated.

    On another note, I found another one and can you tell me if these numbers make sense;

    MSRP: $69,405
Sale Price: $61,000 (12% off MSRP - I believe this is doable?)
Cap Cost Reduction: $5000 (down payment)
    MF: .00063
    Doc: $80
    Acq. Fee: $795
    Terms: 12/36
    Residual: 52%
    Registration: $717
    Tax: 7.75%
    Total Drive: $6884
    Monthly W/ Tax: $690

What is realistic as this is such a nightmare!

I truly appreciate this site as I have a lot more confidence going into these negotiations, but still get so confused as to how they do their numbers.

    Thanks,
CA DMV charges vary by MSRP.

    Thank you,

I got the number not at 12% above, but the internet sales guy (have not walked in yet) took the car down 11% ($61,753)

Considering All Numbers above stay the same (residual and MF) and I put down $5000

Can I realistically expect a $680-700$ month payment a month?

Please offer some advice of how I can walk in and just close this deal.

    Many thanks

Depending on the year, model and location of the deal, the discount varies...I got my 2019 E300 4Matic at a 15% off discount when I signed my lease last week, and I'm pretty sure I could do more if I was willing to wait for another week or two. So don't be afraid to ask for more discount...unless you absolutely need a specific color or package that is rare, or you need the car right now, which would probably put you in a less favored position.

Also be confident with your calculation online or on your own spreadsheet. Dealers would try to hide things from you especially when it comes to MF so don't buy what they say if the payment is not what you would expect. Ask for their manager and sit down with them so you can go through every little detail on their software.

Hi I just ordered a 2019 E450 Coupe, as a first time MB leaser.
    7,500 miles a year, 36 months, $0 down.

The dealer is quoting me a MF of 0.0008 or so. I have read earlier that the MF should be closer to 0.0056.
They claim that the lower MF is only for returning leasers with MB.

Any truth to that? What should I counter with?

MBFS might have loyalty incentives, but they don't have anything to do with the money factor.

We don't have the info on holdback.

BMWs have never had holdback. But, they have other factory-to-dealer incentives that make up for that.

Trying to calculate the dealer's cost is wasted time. You want the lowest price you can get, regardless of their profit or loss. Get competitive quotes from more than one dealer.

Contemplating this deal now, but still working the dealer on an 2019 E450 4Matic Coupe. By the way, my goal is to get to 10% off MSRP. Note that my deal also will have the dealer pickup the final 5 payments remaining on my C300 (loyalty is 3mos) so they are forking 2 more months (valued at $550x2=$1100).

    MSRP: 73,600
    Selling: 68,405 (7.7% off MSRP)
    MF: .00056 Residual: 52% 36 months
    Monthly: $895

Above is the deal on the table, however, my final ask target selling price of $66,905 (10% off MSRP) will get me to $853 monthly

Once we agree on the base numbers (hopefully 10%off MSRP) , I 'm planning to roll in the Acq $795 + Tax into the deal.

Comments and thoughts on this deal are very much appreciated.

The $1100 the dealer is "forking" over comes out of your pocket, one way or the other. That's $1100 they don't have to discount the vehicle.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Agreed, and that is why i think i have to consider that in the whole picture. The interest is so low that is why its tempting. Inclusive of $1100, that 9.4% off MSRP. The way I see it, I'm paying that $1100 anyway out of pocket in the next 2 months so why not get in a new car...and its the config/color i really like. (Lunar blue, saddle brown, with 12:3 digital cluster)

    Thoughts?

I think the MF is somewhat adjusted to compensate for the very low residual

With the help of this forum, happy to report deal I just signed today: Lunar blue 2019 E450 4Matic, comments and critiques good or bad are very welcome.

    MSRP: 73,655
Sell Price: $67,027 (9% off MSRP)
MF: .00056 and 52% RV (thank for info on this forum)
    Monthly before tax $856
    Tax is $2200,
    Monthly including tax $917

Part of "final deal" is 3 yr Svc maintenance that added $13/mo or $468 (IMO worth it because Svc B alone in my area is $600-800.

    FINAL Monthly is $930

Acq 795, Doc fee 499, First month 930, Titles $630 (total due at sign: $2800). Note that intially Acq is $1095, I noted its marked up and quite surprised how easily they knocked it back down to $795

Finally, I have a coupon of $500 from USAA they say they will accept, I may apply to due at sign to lower it.

Also, this is an early return lease with 4 payments to go ($500/mohth). 3 will be waived off and will pay one out of pocket.

    Thoughts on the deal?
