$3,000 Down (for taxes and "other fees")
36mo/12k miles
$435/month
Residual Value 53% - 426,825.85

They said they can bring payment down to $425 a month if I accept 10k miles/year.

Yes, the residual amount was a typo. The correct RV is $26,825. I also just learned the actual mileage is 5,862.

I agree it is silly to go for 10k/yr to save $10/month. I will consider your suggestion to roll $2000 into CAP cost, although I prefer to pay $3k up front and have a lower monthly payment. Or, is there a financial benefit to this that I'm not understanding?

BMWFS leases have GAP insurance included at no extra cost.
If your car was stolen/totaled in the first few months, the insurance payout likely won't cover the lease payoff. That is where GAP kicks in. But, once the bank is made whole, they don't rebate any of your upfront money. You would be out $3000, plus a payment or two, just to drive a couple of months.

Better to keep the money in your pocket, and take the higher payment.

Plus, it's always good if the amount of the lease payment reflects your actual cost. For budgeting, etc.

I guess that means the selling price is $43195? That's a weird way to list it.


The math looks good.
Discount from MSRP is approx 15%, which is also good, on a low mile loaner.

Seems like you have a good lease payment now. Why waste three months of it, by eating that $1200?

I think you need a bigger discount.
By leasing a loaner with over 5000 miles, you have a 7% residual reduction, plus another $1200 in reduction to the actual mileage. Plus, none of the new car incentives are valid.

It is an average deal. I think you have another $1000-$2000 to move on the sale price. Whatever you save could result in the same payment, with that much less upfront.
