The $4460 isn't a "Federal" rebate. It is a rebate from Mercedes, in lieu of the Federal tax credit, which you do not get (that goes to the vehicle owner). It is taxable.

We show the $2000 incentive as Mercedes to dealer money. If so, not taxable to you. If it turns out to be a consumer rebate, then it is taxable to you.

I don't have that info, but in the original post I mentioned they offered to change to $4500 down. I'm trying to see If i have much more negotiation room. What do you think? I'm in CA, 91601 so I'm sure taxes are high and that's drive off with $460/month, not wild about only 7.5k miles either
