You are correct, they cannot alter the residual.

Just leased a 2019 Camry Le, $25,804 msrp.

Cash price before rebate $21,600

3 year, 10000 mile lease.

Payment with tax @ 9.25% came to $237.

No drive off/no down. With the $1,500 rebate, the license, tire, the tax on the capitalized cost reduction, first monthly, and smog fee were paid. There was a $838 capitalized cost reduction.

.00001 mf and residual was 53%.
