When it comes to money factor. Say for example, it's 0.00251, which seems pretty terrible. Is that the best one can get, assuming qualifying credit? Will Audi allow you to negotiate an even lower Money Factor?

Yes, we give the lowest rate for top tier credit.

Can I have the MF, RV and available incentives for a 2019 A5 premium plus Sportback for 42month/12k 78738 zip. Thanks

What if I want to make a one time payment lease 10K/36 months or 39 months?
Is there any way to reduce the price by paying an MSD? I heard that if you pay MSD after the lease is up you get that money back. Is that true?

9 MSDs would lower the money factor by .00045. Yes, you get them back at lease end.

One-pay lease lowers the MF by .00060.

so one payment lease should be MF 0.00191 or MF 0.00060?

What is 9 MSD. How do I know how to do the math? If the AUDI 5 Sportback Prestige MSRP is $56,350, net capitalize cost $51,319. How do I know if they are doing all the discounts? How do I know how to calculate 1 time lease payment, the 36 month lease payment and the 36 month lease with an MSD payments.

Please tell me how to calculate the MSD so I will be able to compute it by myself.

    Thank you.

You calculate the one-pay lease just like any other lease. Only, you total the payments and use the lower money factor.
The same with MSDs. You calculate the payment using the lower money factor.

Each SD is the payment, rounded up to the next $50 increment. (if your payment is $630/mo, each security deposit is $650/mo)

If I add the $895 acquisition fee to their price, I get $727/mo.+tax

So, they've obviously jacked up the money factor.

The A5 Sportback is expensive to lease, in any event, but that quote is not good.

Sorry.. 60% is the Premium Plus residual

57% is correct for Prestige, 36/10

That makes the calculation about $770/mo.+tax

Hello. I have around 12,000 negative equity on a trade (long story). Can I please get some advice on putting it into a lease deal on a 2019 A5? I have been thinking that I will simply purchase the car and stretch the term a bit, but thought I would ask about leasing, and then maybe buying the car at lease end (or not haha).

I have to get a new car, as the trade is an i3 and the range limitation is no longer viable for me. I’m not looking to get rid of the negative equity as much as I just want to understand the best way to address it, mostly from a payment standpoint. I will keep kicking the can down the road as opposed to paying it off all at once lol. If I finally keep a car long enough it will eventually go away. Maybe.

While I’m here, I live in 94598. Can I please have the MF and residual % for a P+ as well as a Prestige? 12k. Don’t care about the term, whatever Audi prefers.

Whatever I do, I am not putting any money down.

    I really appreciate the help!

If you don't want to put money down, expect a payment close to $1000/mo. The negative equity alone will run you $300-350/mo over 36 months.

If you can manage a payment that high, then the negative equity will be gone in 3 years.

Alternatively, if you pick a lower priced car with really good depreciation, and stretch out a conventional loan, the negative equity may go away eventually.

That's what we did with our last purchase. Rolled $3500 of negative equity into a 6 year loan on a Subaru Outback. Because Outbacks are in great demand here in CO, after 4 years, the negative equity is gone and we are actually right side up by $5000 or so.

Audi does not have the greatest lease program.

Michaell, thank you for your time and commitment to helping others, man. Very cool.

Sportback. Sorry, thought I covered it all haha.

And to be clear: once you provide me with MF and residual %, I will use that knowledge to negotiate that and other terms (cap cost, etc.) and input those values into the Edmunds lease payment calculator to keep the dealer honest?

It is perfect for me to know that negative equity equates to 300-350 to the payment. Despite that burden, burying it into the the lease at least aligns it to a relatively short term, and I can finance the residual at lease for a short term and have a normal payment.

Implied in your answer is that it can indeed be done. I think it may be better than stretching out a buy.

Thanks again. The one-word answer is Sportback.

Is there any way to reduce the price by paying an MSD? I heard that if you pay MSD after the lease is up you get that money back. Is that true?

Thank you. Is the LTV based on MSRP or actual purchase price, which for a lease I believe is called “net cap cost”, correct?

If I have 750 FICO, can I expect to achieve up to 130% LTV (it will be more like in the 120’s) on a lease the same as can be done with a purchase deal?

I realize that the dealer is about to tell me, but I want to know going in if this is viable or completely extraordinary, as I’m sure that the inflated financing rates that will perhaps ultimately be presented to me will be framed as if the LTV/negative equity is the sole cause of. While I appreciate that it may contribute to less than ideal terms, I also know what backend points are.

Thanks again for the special guidance here, fellas!

Would I please let me know the MF, RV and any March incentives/rebates (including loyalty) for a 2019 A5 Sportback Premium plus 12K and 15K in 91367? I am open to term length, but assume 36 months has the best deals. Thank you!

Please clarify your last answer. I have attached your answer from yesterday.
Remind us of the body style, trim, term and mileage?

A5 Sportback 2019 prestige and Premium plus lease 36 month/10K and 39 months. Zip code 33021.

    .00235 MF
    60%/58% residual for P+ (36/39 mo)
    57%/55% residual for Prestige

    $1000 lease bonus

What if I want to make a one time payment lease 10K/36 months or 39 months?
Is there any way to reduce the price by paying an MSD? I heard that if you pay MSD after the lease is up you get that money back. Is that true?

Yes, the monies you pay up front for an MSD will be returned at the end of the lease.

You will also get a .00060 discount on the MF for a one-pay lease for 36 months

    What body style?

There is a limit to how much negative equity you can bury in a new car, whether lease or purchase.

    39/12
    .00235 MF
    57%/54% residual for P+/Prestige
    $1000 lease bonus

I think it's the net cap cost, and there is a cap on how much can be bundled into the lease.

No idea how the finance guys will present this to you, or even if $12K can be added into the deal.

Any discount on the MF if I put money for MSD? How much is the maximum amount of MSD that I can put.
