I've seen some recent posts of the 1.5T Sport going for around mid-$21K to low-$22K vehicle price, though I haven't really followed it too closely. Do not pay for any add-ons. You can tell them to either take them out or reduce the vehicle price (past your target number, of course). The documentation fees seem like a ripoff as well, but it may be normal for your state, so do some research on that. You can always just negotiate against the final vehicle price to compensate.

    Hi All,

First off - Great Forum! Thank you to all the contributors on here.

Would like all your inputs on the quote that I've received below. I'm planning to buy in California before year end. I think I can get at least $500-$1000 off of the quoted OTD price. If you guys have any other tips or comments then I would love to hear it.

    Details
    Accord 2.0 Sport
    MSRP $31,630 (MSRP+920 Dest.)
    Discount $4,030
Sales Price $27,600 + tax and license
    OTD $30,360

Supposedly no marked up or fees either (from Sales guy email).

    Thanks.

Just purchased a new Accord Dec 3 in San Antonio Texas. Details:

2019 NEW HONDA ACCORD 4D SEDAN 1.5T SPORT AUTO (MFG June 2019), Color: Platinum White

    MSRP: $27,100 (Destination Fee Incl)

    Base Price: $22,115
Tint, Paint&Fab, Nitro: $998 (See Note)
    Final Car Price: $23,113

    Sales Tax: 1,444.56
    Doc Fee: $189
    Title: $33
    Inspection Fee: 156.25
    Full Deputy Fee: $23.75
    Inventory Tax:39.94

    Out the Door Price: $24,999.50

Note: I was initially quoted a higher base price for the car. After the test drive, I told them I wasn't paying full price for the dealer add on items, as I did not feel the value they added was in line with the price they were charging. After some painful haggling, they agreed to cut about $400 off the price of the add-ons, but for some reason wanted to lower the base price of the car instead of lowering the fee amounts shown on the contract. Since it came out to the same bottom line, I didn't object. Still not sure why they felt it was important to keep the fees the same and lower the car price instead. Although it galls me to pay for dealer add-ons, I felt that the overall deal was a good one. I turned them down for all the accessories and everything in the F&I office, so I think I came out ok.

    Other offers considered:
2020 Accord LX for base price of $22,450
2019 Accord LX for base price of $19,950
2019 Hyundai Sonata SEL for base price of $20,450

Not really, considering you can get that price, or even lower on new 2019 without haggling that much.

Just bought a new 2019 Touring 2.0T new from dealer, $31,000 (incl transportation) plus tax and title for 33,394.38 driveaway price (driveaway price incl 6.75% tax, $250 puffery fee, and about $45 for temp registration and title fee).

Cash deal, no financing, no trade. That's around $5800 off msrp.

My mother is looking at a 2019 Touring: Lunar Silver with a gray interior. There are only two left in the area. The initial quote is $32,589, but that wasn't the Costco quote, which may be lower. I got another quote for a 2019 Silver with black interior for $31,991. So it needs to come down. Looks like the 2019 Touring target is definitely under $32K before taxes and fees. The $31K price someone got was great!

I’m looking to purchase a 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. I’m using USAAs car buying program. One of the dealerships quoted me for $30,876+$699(doc fee) = $31,575. This price doesn’t include taxes or registration. I live in VA. I’m going for a test drive this Thursday. Is this a good price? Would I be able to go lower? Maybe to $30k without doc fee?

That doesn't seem any better than your last offer, if you are VA. Tax is only 4.17%, right?

The dealership I went to yesterday had bunch of extra charges for accessories and the OTD was around 34500. I told them I didn’t want the extra stuff and they didn’t budge. So I left and starting calling other places. That’s where I got the 33200 price from.

My local dealer advertised $6000 off MSRP for a 2019 Accord Touring, 2.0L. In the end, I got $5000 off but they insisted on adding $1200 more in useless add-ons. To make my deal come in at just under $5000 off MSRP. I'm located just South of Atlanta.

I’m interested in a 2019 accord hybrid ex-l in NJ area. Any suggestions on how much I should aim for under MSRP? Would 6-7k under msrp seem reasonable at this time?
