24/12 .00041 MF $600 lease cash 64%/67% residual for LE/SE
Hello! New to this calculation thing and was a bit confused/have some questions. I understand I need to fill in the equation of depreciation + finance charge, which requires me to learn the capitalized cost, residual value, and money factor.
I'm trying to lease *either* a 2020 Corolla Hybrid base model (LE) in either 37212 or 21401 zip codes. Ideally 36 month for 12k miles but open to any deal that would be good.
Lastly, just to note I am currently in a lease for a 2017 Corolla and have 6 months left but they seem to let me upgrade. Not sure if that would go into the equation or not (paying $195 per month, 0 down, for a 36 month lease with 12k miles)
I see here that people are providing the money factor and residual. Just to check, for this equation should I multiply the residual value by the MSRP of the car, after any discounts that are available (e.g., recent grad)? Also, how do I figure out the capitalized cost?
Thanks for helping to answer my questions! Excited to try and see how low of a value I can get.

Which ZIP code is the dealer location? Toyota has regional numbers.
And, to my knowledge, there is no official "pull ahead" program with Toyota, meaning those last 6 payments will end up in your new lease. You'll be paying for a car you won't be able to drive.
No real good reason to end your current lease early. 2020's will be on the lot for a while.

Thanks for the helpful information! I actually did read the edmunds post but still had those questions
And the zip codes are 37212 and 21401 if that helps! Previously I "upgraded early" from a lease to get my current deal ($195/mo with 0 down) which was better than my previous one, so I'm not sure how they did that? I still had 6 months of payments left in that case but was given a great deal. Just curious?

Lower residuals and higher MF make for worse lease payments.

What’s the MF and residual on a 2020 corolla LE 36K/12YR near 94520? Any lease incentives?
.00059 and 57% $600 lease cash
Thank you Michael! So would it make sense then, with a sales price of 17,965 and using those numbers that with 2000 down the monthly payment would be 157 for a 36K/12yr?(this is the value Edmunds car lease calculator gave me with 2k cap cost reduction, the MF and RV you gave me, and the price I’ve negotiated with a dealer. I just don’t understand how it can go cheaper than the manufacturers deal of 179 per month with 2000 down, but I guess that’s how it happens sometimes. Also, can I apply a recent grad savings of 500 to that 600 incentive, or am I only allowed to pick one?

What is the MSRP? We can't see what you are entering into the lease calculator, so can't tell you where the discrepancy might be.
Sorry, I’m new to this so I forget what is integral to the calculation. The msrp is $21,129. Here’s a lease hackr calculator with more complete info. If includes the 600 rebate and (I suppose) standard acquisition and fewer fees.

I'm pretty close to that payment, if I knock off $2000 from the selling price.
However, the idea behind a lease is to put the minimum amount of money up front - we recommend only the first payment and and registration costs. Skip the $2000 down payment, and add the $650 acquisition fee to the selling price, as well.
