my battery went dead, and I entered the five-digit code to reset the stereo, but still no dice. Is there any workaround or trick to get it going again?

2001 honda civic resetting stereo code:
1) start car.
2) press preset buttons numbers 1 and 6 at the same time while turning your stereo on.
3) write the codes displayed. there will be a letter followed by 4 numbers and another letter with 4 more numbers.
4) write down all 8 numbers excluding the letters.
5) take these numbers to your nearest honda dealer and ask for the code.
6) enter code into your stereo and stereo should now work and diplay time as
well.
