Cadreamn, I'm about 95% sure on the '08s being out late August or early September. If you take a look at the Infiniti web site, they're currently advertising their year end sale, and the FX and QX are already '08s with the G37 to follow August 21st. I think all of the '08s will be in showroom by then, besides the EX, which will be out in December.
When the X Sport will be available is more of an estimate. But to me, it only makes since that it would be available around the beginning of the winter season. If anyone else has some further info, please let us know.
By the way, many of the slightly used '07 sedans are former rentals.

Should I buy now or wait a little longer to see?
Thanks,
David
50-50 chance...wait.

Assuming you have good credit, the APR of your loan is just as negotiable as the price of the vehicle. Especially if the rate you want is being offered on other vehicles. If you're ready to buy the car now, go for it.
Check out this article: http://autos.yahoo.com/consumerreports/article/financial-services-hidden-fees-autoloan-markups-405.html
Once you have the price of the car set, tell them you want it at the special APR. If the dealer wants to sell the car, i'm almost positive you'll get it. I've definitely seen it done before.
Good luck!
Nope.
The rearview monitor will become part of the navigation package. The technology package will obviously lose the rearview monitor but gain pre-crash seatbelts that will use a motion sensor on the brake pedal.
Infiniti is making some really smart moves for '08...
There is significant slippage on wet roads. I drive very conservatively when it rains. I would have preffered the AWD.
Okay, now you've gotten my attention!
The X suspension is NOT too soft in this car... not at all.
I've driven both and I will say that I can feel a difference in ride comfort on back country roads, but this is only caused by the 17" vs 18" tires.
There is no noticable difference in handling unless you're going top end through a curvy track with 4WAS.
The X and Sport come with the exact same suspension, minus the wheel size.
My X takes 25 mph winding exit ramps at 80 mph, and the only reason I don't do it faster is because it's just too darn dangerous. If someone broke down around a corner, I'd never stop in time.
The G's suspension is fantastic and certainly not too soft for the drivetrain.
Sorry John (lol)
You and I have always had each others back in this forum, but this was like a pebble in my shoe!
:P
It may have been the tires...or the fact that I drove my S2000 to the dealer...but it did feel soft/shakey. Not towncar soft, just kinda soft for a car with that sort of power. Being a skyline fan from BEFORE it was in gran turisom and got popular...I would have got an X if it felt better. I actually prefer your wood over my aluminum...but sport is only aluminum. 4ws is the only option I didn't get. Those same tires that feel so good in the dry are prob gonna suck in the snow...so we'll see. As I told the dealer, when I chose the sport....there goes the idea of four wheel drifts in a big parking lot ! ! !
I'm not sure what the deal was with the car you drove but with all the words I could use to describe my car, "soft" & "shaky" are definitely not in the list.
I test drove a lot of cars before deciding on the G and with my choice of the X model, I definitely don't feel like I lost anything in the performance dept.
The 18's will come as soon as I get my money's worth from the stock 17" rubber.
The seats are a personal preference, I like the X/Journey seats a little better.
Only other thing I'm missing is paddle shifts and if I really, really needed them, I'd go buy a Honda Fit!!! :P
I had a very similar test drive.
I thought I was scaring the salesguy until he took over.
After we had returned to the dealership, I asked if I could walk through their inventory lot to check out all of the color/interior combos.
He drove... and let's just say.. he showed me the very limits of the car's capabilities.
Test drives like that should come with a free change of shorts.
After that test drive, I would never buy a "new" car with a few hundred miles on it!!!
Oh, and my purchase decision was made too! :shades:
#1) The one I was last on.
#2) The street I am currently on.
#3) The next upcoming road.
I want details like the Town/City & State that I am currently in.
My Acura MDX gives me details like this by just touching the screen.
I don't need things like Latitude/Longitude/Altitude... but knowing what town I'm in would be really nice.
Anyone know if the Navi in the G can do this?
I can't seem to find how.
1st the car is really amazing. Just a really nice car.
I got my car at $500 below invoice. This was through my company. The dealer was not giving discounts until June as the demand was so high, they did not have to give a discount - so they didn't. Go figure.
Interest rate was 6.55% - it was better than credit union. They shaved off .5% when i got the $900 protection for the pain and interior. Pays for itself.
The compact flash card is really cool as i need not use a mp3 player. But it has been a pain trying to figure out. Here is some data. You can store a max of 512 files, if you go beyond this, it will just drop off your music files. The music is sorted by the order you copy to the flash card. Ie, copy item X 1st, and it shows up first. supports WMA and MP3 formats, BUT only supports WMA 192kbps, nothing higher, and only v 9.2.
The A/C is really amazing. Gets super cold, super fast.
Car just hugs the road - handles like a dream
The car requires PREMIUM - SUPER UNLEADED. 92 octane. Basically the expensive stuff. The manual lists this, the actual tank where you fill up lists this, so I would not recommend med or low grade fuel.
The rear camera is cool, but if you get water on the lens, can't see out too well:)
The navigation is great, better than the one from Ford, the view is great.
XM is wonderful - i liked the xm radio so much that i put it in 2 other cars
The traffic feature is cool - you can use the arrow keys and view all the traffic ahead. Pretty cool.
I would recommend this car to anybody who is thinking of it.
You've mentioned many times how you are unhappy with how it doesn't get that cold and every time I read that, I'm like :confuse: :confuse: :confuse: .
My A/C is BLAZING cold.
So cold, that I have to turn off the driver's side vent, as frostbite starts to kick in on my left forearm soon after I get in the car.
I'm in MA and the summer here is just like yours in NJ.
Hot and Humid
Have it looked at, it should be VERY cold!
handling with Hwy mileage of 24 and combined avg of 22.1, that isn't bad at all!
Also with 20 Gal tank, G35 has longer range than most sedans
in its class.
My point is just enjoy your fabulous ride and don't worry
too much about MPG.
Do the paddle shifters work while in D?
I use this a lot when I'm on D on my wife's RDX and need a quick downshift (e.g. for a pass). I find this nice because you can downshift without having to change to S mode.
Is it the same with the G35-S?
I love the compact flash, but the limits suck and I can not understand why Nissan did such a great job on the car and gave these limits.
512 file limit - if you have the nav system. Without i believe it is 999 file limit.
No sorting - the files are in the order you copied them to the compact flash.
No playlists
Only supports 192 bit rate or lower.
I've talked with the dealer and they said they would talk with Nissan, but no word yet.
I ended coding a tool to work with the Windows Media player playlists to get around some of the limitations. But still, should not have to code a tool when you are working with at 34k machine.
I will give it a try.
It also has a "S" mode, not available on the G35 which is like "D" but will hold gears into higher rpms for a more spirited drive. While in "S", if you tap the paddle shifters, then it goes into "full manual", i.e. it won't shift unless you do, like in the G35 (when pushed to the left).
Having said that, the G35 paddle shifters are much nicer with the leather and all (cheap plastic in the RDX).
The G has the 'S' mode as well. As soon as you shift to the left, it will get into the 'S' mode. It will change to manual when you shift up and down. :shades:
I suppose you meant your G35-S? From what I know only the 07 Sports model has the paddles. I did read somewhere (maybe here at Edmunds) that for 08 they'll have the G35x Sport.
This is on a 2007 G35x Sedan. I think it is the paddle shifting, but maybe it is something different.
I get a solid 25 one road trips. Doing solid 19 around town.
I figure at 306hp, that is pretty decent.
Granted, it ain't 45 like my 150 hp (450lbs) Yamaha FZ 1 Motorcycle, but that carries only 2, and not so fun in rain:)
As for the bypass, i "could" be wrong, but I have 2 types of units - 1 is in the G, the other is a Pioneer unit. The pioneer unit require(d) you to have the parking break pressed before features would be available. This really sucked and I could buy-pass - just push the parking break wire to ground.
But in the G, it seems to be related to you moving or not moving - no relation to the parking break. They could be using the actual GPS data thus no real way to bypass.
One item to note, you can use the Voice commands to do stuff that you can't do on the screen while driving. Perfect, no, but it is better than nothing.
The 07 G35X does not have the paddle shifters behind the wheel like the Sport model (on the left of the wheel for downshifts and on the right for upshifts).
You can manually shift as you said, by pushing the shifter back and forth. This can also be done on the Sport.
Thanks to all that replied. So, it's confirmed that the paddles (behind the wheel) do not work when the G Sport is in regular D mode.
