Plugging it into a lease calculator the only thing I can see is maybe they’re adding 20-30 points to m/f prob to make up for the check I’m getting back.

One thing I've learned is that if you have a "friend" or "family member" at the dealership, it usually doesn't result in as good of a deal as you could get.

Better to work with strangers for something like this.
