For a 2020 Tiguan SEL, the dealer is telling me that the MSRP is 35,125, but they would sell it to me for $31,575 including the $1250 "dealer cash" discount. They quoted the same MF as you guys at .00001, but they provided me these residuals: 10,000 miles: $17563. 12,000 miles: $17212. Taking those numbers divided by the MSRP, I get less than 50%, not the 51% kyfdx quoted. Is this a mistake or are they screwing me somehow w a lower residual?

Confirm the lease term - they could be quoting 39 months, not 36.

For the record, the dealer cannot alter the residual - that is set by the bank.

They got back to me. Apparently the numbers you gave me are the April residuals. They lowered it in May to 49% for 36 mo, 47% for 39 mo. The money factors are .00001 for 36 and 39.

No, the residuals you've been given by the dealer are incorrect.
The new programs started on May 1st, and we gave you the info on May 4th.

You asked us for the 10K/yr residuals, and the ones we gave you are correct.

36/10 = 52% residual
39/10 = 51% residual

.00001 MF for either term.
These numbers are correct for every 2020 model Tiguan.

Either their quoted residual is wrong, or the MSRP is incorrect.

They are making a mistake.

Sorry, I asked for *both* the 10K/yr and the 12K/year. Are those residuals different? Attached is what they sent me. However, it looks like their table might be for 15K/year leases not 10K or 12K.

Hello. Writing to see whether this is an acceptable lease deal for an AWD S in the Pittsburgh area (my zip code is 15129). In case the image link does not work, I was quoted $372/month with absolutely zero down for 12,000 miles/39 months; the residual is listed at $13,588. The vehicle MSRP is $27,730 with $2,586 listed generically as "savings." I do have an existing VW Passat lease with one month to go, and they will absorb/pull-ahead my final payment ($289).

My interactions with the salesperson have all been remote and he hasn't been particularly clear on the May incentives. I have another dealership putting together a quote, but this feels somewhat higher than anticipated. Thank you for your time and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking a look and I will have him clarify the "ClearCut" breakdown with detail. I hope to have another estimate from another local dealer soon for an S with a very similar MSRP which may also help. The bottom number (for net ClearCut price) is $28..., representing clearcut price plus $561.47 in unspecified fees.

Different incentives exist for lease vs. purchase, and most pricing sites quote purchase numbers.
