Hi, I went to a different dealership (94568) and negotiated the following offer for a CX-5 Touring, FWD with preferred package for 10K/36:

MSRP: $29855
Selling price: $27248
Rebate: $750
Residual: 59%
MF: .00053
Down payment: $0
Monthly payment, including tax: $316.58
Fees (paid up front, excluding first month's payment): $539.70
Acquisition fee (not paid up front): $650

The offer also referenced a "Cap Red" of $706.49; the dealership couldn't explain clearly how this factored into the monthly payment calculation, but they said that it should not reduce the selling price further. They also confirmed that my down payment would be $0.

I returned a CX-5 lease last week, and the dealership claimed that I could receive a loyalty incentive (hence, the $750 rebate) but not the lease-to-lease rebate because I didn't have the registration.

Can you please let me know your thoughts on whether this monthly payment was a good price? Can you also please update me on the MF, residual and incentives for this car for October for 94568 and 94103?

My down payment was $0. Total out of pocket was $856.28 (upfront fees plus first month's payment). FYI, I walked away from this deal, but it's helpful to know issues with it for next negotiation. Yes, that's wrong.. Just tell them you want the base MF, or you'll shop elsewhere. It's no different than if their price was too high.

One way around your issue is making up to 9 MSDs to reduce the MF as close to .00001 as you can. That's what I'm doing with my lease with a MF of .00042. 5 MSDs would reduce it to .00002. It depends on base MF in your region and dealer compliance.

Than the maintenance plan he said was $371 but giving discount on $2.77 a month and payment would be 382.77...i agreed there as oil changes are $120 at dealer.

If they baked GAP in without really saying I am a little disturbed by that. This was also the first all digital signing I did. I usually hold the papers and look closely and reread. This was sign and click on the desk and all docs given to me on a USB drive. One more thing to look for at a dealership

Auto insurance is not a substitute for GAP insurance on a lease. Everyone has auto insurance.

So discussed with the dealer and they are willing to make $1021.00 In payments for me and cancel GAP and maintenance plan. Payments would go to 380 vs 382.77

Finance manager and I agreed that I misheard that TFS does not include GAP and Chase did, therefore they were passing on their commission of the fees to the customer, all done behind the scenes. The maintenance plan was discounted on the backend as well for 2.77*36 (99.72).

After discussion, since really it is $3 a month, might as well keep the extra protection.

I still am not 100% positive, but the fact is I was quoted 380 without GAP and maintenance... The payment increased by $2.77 adding these 2 things on. I still believe I got a good deal and the dealer following up and having a conversation was a plus I'm my book.
