Interesting as a data point for moderators/readers here, I spoke to dealers this weekend, who confirmed the lease cash posted here is accurate - but balked at "dealer marketing allowances" as being able to lower the price of the car. They basically said that that's money they use to offer a pre-incentive discount of the car and aren't required to pass it along or even disclose it. While that's obviously true, I told them that it should help them provide a deeper discount off of MSRP before the lease cash comes into play. I guess it's their last resort cushion - seems most pre-incentive discounts on this car seem to be 9-10% off MSRP, and where people are achieving deeper discounts, I assume the dealer is dipping into the dealer marketing allowances rather than keeping it as profit.

Only posting this because I find it interesting, and would also love to be corrected or given tips if I am understanding incorrectly or if anyone has tips on how to get them to really put this money on the table during a negotiation.

Dealer is correct - the marketing allowance doesn't have to be disclosed to the customer, but now that you know about it, factor it into your price negotiations.
