The dealer I am speaking with, told me that "the incentives and manufacturer discounts should get better in April b/c of the virus shutdown".
I realize it's April 1st, any idea when they will be released? Assume by Friday? Or do you have any now?

Dealer fibbed; there are no differences to the program for April.

Okay, thank you. They presented this offer to me.
GLA250 4 Matic with AMG package. It's a locate vehicle (he found one we wanted). Has more options on it than we want, but....heavily discounting it.
MSRP - $47,200 Rebate - 2250 Adjusted Price - $44,470 MB Suggested Savings - $2209 April Incentives - $4750 Transport +$1000 Purchase Price - $38,511 Tax - $296.37 FL State fees - $161.50 Acquisition - $1095 Predelivery Service charge - $995 Total = $41,058.87
36 Months/7500 miles Residual = 27387.60
One - Pay lease = $15,822
To me, the price of the car is great. The numbers after that, even on a one pay, where the interest should be almost zero is where it gets sideways.
Even if the acquisition fee (probably +$300) and the "predelivery service charge" (?) stays in and the other fees are right, there is about $2600 interest/unaccounted for numbers.
Or am I wrong? Appreciate your thoughts on my numbers

There is a .00080 deduct to the MF if you are doing one-pay; but, with the base MF so low to begin with, there isn't much savings to setting up your lease that way. Better to keep the money in your pocket rather than let MB make interest on the float for the next 36 months.
As a standard, pay-as-you-go lease, I get $392/mo, plus tax (if the tax rate is 7%, then the total payment is $419/mo).
The marked up acquisition fee and "predelivery service charge" (value to you = $0) certainly don't help. It's also very possible the MF rate has been marked up.
Any chance the dealer would share the lease worksheet with you?
(note that the 36/7.5K residual is 58%, or $27,376)

Thanks, Michaell...I will ask him. So, the one pay MF should be .00009? I have done a few cars with him, and have always got what I thought was a great deal. Also looking a Jaguar E-Pace.
FYI, the MSRP is $47,220. I was off $20.
Overall, if I can get the numbers down, for that amount of discount, thoughts on the deal?

The one pay MF should be either .00005 or .00001 (whatever the minimum MF MBFS will allow); I wouldn't use that approach, as it doesn't save you that much money and ties up a large amount of your cash.

For a regular lease, the MF gets even worse...which is disappointing, since I have done at least four deals with him.

Thanks
Do you know the selling price? I was asking about what the $3000 up front covers.
New deal to look at...it's a locate, so there is transport. Pretty steep discount, but still with the Florida dealer pre-delivery fee and increased acquisition fee. 33928 zip code (dealer is in Tampa).

One pay lease = $14,298.84 Money factor is .00025 (still not .00017)
I think the sales price is great. Would love to get maintenance tossed in.

With the MF that low, one-pay won't really save you much.
Or, they've marked up the MF a whole bunch, then the one-pay takes it down to .00025.
Either way, not that great.
Seems pretty expensive to drive 600 miles a month.
Thanks! Yes, the money factor is marked up from .00017 to .00070 for the regular lease. I guess there is no getting around the Florida pre-delivery fee either.
Sounds like get the money factor down to .00017 or walk. I don't suppose you have any idea what May incentives look like?

Looks like they are trading the money factor markup for a big discount. That might be okay, but a lot of that discount is being eaten up by transport/pre-delivery fees, plus $300 markup to the acquisition fee.
In the big picture, you are paying $397/mo. for a $43K car (or $429/mo, paid monthly) Which would be great for a 12K or 15K/yr lease.. maybe just average for a 7500/yr lease.
If you ask them for a single pay money factor of .00005, that would drop the upfront payment by $480/mo. (and would still be a big markup to the MF for them)
I think I could stomach $13,800, better than $14,300.

I'd guess that $1000 is about right. We've seen Mercedes deals where they residualize the maintenance package. If your dealer can do that, your actual cost is about $420 (since the residual will be $580 higher). That would be a steal for three years of maintenance.

Okay, thank you. They presented this offer to me.
GLA250 4 Matic with AMG package. It's a locate vehicle (he found one we wanted). Has more options on it than we want, but....heavily discounting it.
MSRP - $47,200
Rebate - 2250
Adjusted Price - $44,470
MB Suggested Savings - $2209
April Incentives - $4750
Transport +$1000
Purchase Price - $38,511
Tax - $296.37
FL State fees - $161.50
Acquisition - $1095
Predelivery Service charge - $995
Total = $41,058.87
36 Months/7500 miles
Residual = 27387.60

He told me that the MF on the one pay is .00025. Which substantially higher that what you gave me. Still quoting $15,822 for a one pay, 36 months/7500 miles. I come up with $15,083, even with his number(s).
For a regular lease, the MF gets even worse...which is disappointing, since I have done at least four deals with him.
MSRP - $47,220
Rebate - $2,750
Adjusted Price - $44,470
MB Suggested savings - $2209
April Savings - $4,750
Transport - +$1,000
Price = $38,511
Pre-Delivery Fee - $995 (Florida dealer thing, likely won't waive)
FL Filing - $94
Tire fee - $4
Battery fee - $1.50
Acquisition fee - $1,095 (probably $300 higher than normal)
Tax - $321.07
Registration - $100
MVWEA - $2.00
Rental surcharge - $60 (??)
Balance - $41,183.57
36 months/7500 miles
MF = .00070 (much higher than .00017)
$0 down (just first month payment) = $474 ( I got $461)
$1000 (plus first month) = $443 (I got $431)
$2000 (plus first month) = $412 (I got $400)
The biggest issue is:
High MF over base rate for April
High acquistion fee
Florida pre-delivery fee
Am I wrong? Thank you, appreciate your input.
Ask for another $1200 off the selling price to account for the upcharge on the acquisition fee, and the "pre-delivery" fee.
And, tell them you want the base MF or you'll find another dealer. They certainly aren't rewarding you for your loyalty.

With the MF that low, one-pay won't really save you much.
Or, they've marked up the MF a whole bunch, then the one-pay takes it down to .00025.
Either way, not that great.

That might be okay, but a lot of that discount is being eaten up by transport/pre-delivery fees, plus $300 markup to the acquisition fee.
In the big picture, you are paying $397/mo. for a $43K car (or $429/mo, paid monthly)
Which would be great for a 12K or 15K/yr lease.. maybe just average for a 7500/yr lease.
If you ask them for a single pay money factor of .00005, that would drop the upfront payment by $480/mo. (and would still be a big markup to the MF for them)
I think I could stomach $13,800, better than $14,300.

I am right there with you, the $13,800 is better than the $14,300. I did ask for maintenance to be thrown in. He said their cost for 3 years is $1000. Seems high. For essentially an oil change on a car not being driven that much.
Thanks for the feedback
