    Hi. I'm close to a lease on a 2022 Q5 Premium 55 (PHEV) for 36/10k in zip 19002. Looks like they're marking up the MF by .0005? Normal or likely to be able to be negotiated down?
    • Residual: 52%
    • MF: .00193
    • Lease cash: $8,500 (1k costco; 7.5k fed tax credit)

    Yes, it's normal for dealers to attempt to markup the money factor. That doesn't mean you should accept it. No discount from MSRP?

    Also, the $7500 is a rebate from Audi in lieu of the Federal Tax Credit (which goes to the bank)

    No discount on MSRP, although, they're "overpaying" for my trade by about 2k. Am I correct that MF from the bank for my car / zip is indeed .00143?

    I ordered a 2022 Q5 back in May with $1k non-refundable deposit, and it should be delivered in Oct. For now I still plan to lease. What would be the best way to negotiate with the dealer if they do markup on MF...? Any comments are welcome!

    You can ask for the base MF; given the current market conditions, I'd say it's unlikely that you'll get the dealer to agree.

    Therefore, your options are either take the markup, or walk away and lose the deposit.

    You didn't negotiate the base MF when you placed the order?

    I ended up going with that lease above on the 55 Premium PHEV. Dealer wasn’t willing to budge off of .00193. Loving the car so far. Excited to see how much I can get out of the pretty decent 17.1 kWh battery.

    No knowledge of when supply will meet demand - guesses are 3 for a quarter.

    The same reason you're getting such a good deal on the sale of your car is the exact same reason the cost of the new car will be much higher.
