It might be instructive to get a quote first, and see if it’s actually similar to the ad, and go from there.

Always, always ask for a lower price.

I know I shouldn't look at monthly payment, but all the maths that I do don't come back with the monthly payment they have advertised. It's much higher so I'm in a pickle as it just doesn't make sense.

It's possible that you're using the wrong numbers in your calculations.

As my co-host noted, get a quote from the dealer and compare that to the advertised payment.

Appreciate the guidance all. I was able to negotiate $4,750 off of MSRP and that doesn't include the $8,500 in other incentives for EV and VW.

I calculated the residual and it came to be 54% and I couldn't get the MF from the dealer but they did say it was "better" than .00243.

Edmunds lease calculator brings me to about $20 difference per month and I am trying to figure out what dealer is higher.

RWD has a different money factor, in case they've switched you to the ad car.

FWIW I was able to knock off about $5k from MSRP base price for ID4 pro AWD and VW kicked in the $8,500 Incentives. The MF ended up being .00240 and residual was 54% on a 10/36 lease.

Payment per month is around $420 and apparently includes gap insurance. Overall I think I got a decent deal.

They provided a few options but 642 at signing is one option. I can lower my monthly payments by the more I put down. 2500/572 or 3500/544.

From the research and offers I've received on ID.4s, I would target the following deal:
$7,500 lease discount + $1,000 discount = $8,500 incentives from VW
Then additional discounts on the MSRP seem to be +/- 10% off MSRP.

So, on MSRP of $58,800, a discount of $5,000 off MSRP + $8,500 incentives = $14,500 would be the total I'd be looking for to be super happy with my deal. I was offered without haggling $12,000 off from multiple places, so the $10,700 seems too little of a discount.
