Hello, what are your thoughts on Excess Wear & Use Lease-End Protection Plan? The dealer is offering it for $1500 on XC40, "threatening" with charges at the end of the lease, including fee for installation after-market tires by non-dealer, even if they are same tires, etc. TIA

I don't see a full breakout of the $5000 up front cash - the $37xx in cap reduction and total fees of $16xx equal $53xx. I'd look for a comprehensive accounting of all the dollars.
We don't recommend big cap reductions, as that money is at risk of being lost if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease.
However, using our lease numbers and your MSRP/Adjusted cap, I get $586/mo plus tax. Assuming the tax in MA is still 6.25%, the total payment is $623/mo, so not far off from the dealer quote.
Getting all the numbers will help us try to resolve the difference.
I am in MA, 6.25%. They didn't give me every single number, but sent a quote: 15k miles lease will be 578.33 per month. The residual on the lease is $27,778.80 and MF is .00162. Lease turn in fee is $450. $5,193 total due at signing (which includes $4k down + 1st payment, doc fee, registration fees, tax). I would appreciate your feedback.
MF is bumped up, just a bit, for extra profit in the dealers pocket.

The financial advisor was rushing me through the paperwork, and it's totally my fault that I didn't ask about "Key Replacement" $475 fee. I try to put all other numbers together, but they are not summing up. Am I missing something? I put $4000 cash + fees, total 5,197.89. (500 discount is for the teachers). I am picking car on Friday, so I still have time to clarify the numbers. Thank you again!

If you take good care of your cars, you shouldn't have a problem at lease end.

Yeah, not a fan of that $475 charge. When was the last time you lost a key?
I'm also not a big fan of down payments ("capitalized cost reductions") on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, then you lose 100% of that money. I like to start my leases by only paying the first payment and any government imposed fees, and roll everything else into the lease.
That will, of course, jack up the payment - in your case, about $120/mo, or so. If that's too rich for you, perhaps you should adjust your budget.
