    Sure, But I think /hope I will help other members by also talking about MSDs(Multiple Security Deposits) as a reminder that they are good programs in my opinion when available
    ....MSRP of 43580, selling price (inclusive of incentives of 39,280 (I didn't really push hard on the price as I thought this was fair in my market and only coming in a little above the Edmunds recommended buying price by a few hundred dollars)....
    The final numbers worked out about $448/month plus tax or $479.52 after tax for 36/10k. This was no money down except first month and tags. The dealer, and acquisition fees were just rolled into the lease. I also put down the refundable security deposit (MSDs ) below.

    Here is how I got there...

    I also had a little over 3k in equity in a car that I turning into mazda that I was turning at end of its lease that I was going to put in my pocket. (I had taken it to carmax to get a price beforehand)

    However, instead of taking possession of the $$ from the turn-in, I put that $$ toward 7 MSD (the maximum I could do in this case ) to take the interest rate of 1.44% (MF 0006) down to virtually zero (0.1%) . It has always been my understanding that putting money down is a mistake in the sense that while it may lower your monthly payments, the net you pay out over the course of the lease may not change much. (in addition to other reasons I don't like to put money down) You are just paying some upfront but over the course of the lease you end up paying a similar amount . However, taking the same $$ and buying down the MF with MSDs not only lowers the monthly but lowers the actual $$ spent over the course of the lease . In this case saving me about $1400 over three years of decreased interest fees over the lease which was about $40 dollars/month . I think this works out to the equivalent of 13.3% (interest-free )annually on the money used for the MSD AND I will get the deposit back at the end of the lease.
    Interestingly, when I mentioned that I wanted to use MSDs, the experienced salesman said he was very sure they did not offer them as he seemed unfamiliar. It is not the first time I have encountered a salesman who is not aware of MSDs as I have leased cars over the years. I looked it up on the Mazda Financial website to confirm that they do offer them, and the dealership was able to have their finance guy look it up, confirm, and set it up.

    The dealer has 4 2024 Premiums left, 2 of which are in the color I want. Can I use that to my advantage? What's a good starting cap cost for a lease deal? I'm wondering if 33K is about okay if I want the 2024 premium, or 31K for the 2025 preferred.
