Maybe you could help.
I went into a New Jersey dealer for a 4DR Bronco Big Bend. Salesman says: we’ll give it to you for MSRP $45,500 total. On the right side of the ledger, an additional $6K (3k plus sales tax; plus Doc Fee; Reg. Fee, Supp Title fee, etc.) brought the total to $51,100.
The resulting lease offer presented was insane:
$620/mo. 36mo./10.5K.
Now, while there was &1k in dealer BS products “add-ons) on the right ledger side (Zurich Shield, Security Guard ) that I could have removed to get the total price down, I didn’t even bother.
I assumed negotiating with them was going to be tortuous and unfruitful.
I just shook his hand and walked out.
I thought the relatively base Big Bends in the mid $40’s were leasing for low $400’s per month (with 5k down)?
To get even close to that monthly payment would require me to double the 5k to 10k down!!!!
What happened?!?!

Why did you think that a $40K Bronco would lease in the low $400's?

WIth your prices (and assuming $5K cap reduction), I get $658/mo - not far off from the dealer quote.
Out of practice - bad math, loose estimation. Also, I thought apr was 7.07%
In my experience, there have been more cap cost reductions from American auto makers - apparently there were none (outside my down payment).
Also, when I’ve gone to dealerships with an Internet or tv advertised Lease Price/Deal, the Real price (when the small print exclusions are added on) is usually $100 more a month….but not $200, as was the case here (from $420 up to $620).
A neighbor claimed that their 55k Outerbanks was only costing them $600 per month after 5k down (I obviously must be missing details and other elements of his deal)

1. Fair enough 2. You mean dealer discounts? Yeah, hard to find those on the full size Bronco, still 3. Yep, the fine print is where the real deal details can be found 4. I'd love to see the dealer worksheet for that quote 5. That's possible - dealers will mark up the APR assuming a tier 3 or higher score. But, my math did prove out the dealer quote was actually less than my calculation (admittedly, I'm guessing at some of the numbers, but still...)

If we go 48 mos ( instead of 36), he could get us down to just below $500/month.
I wonder if this is bc 1: this is their sales methodology/strategy; 2. It’s end of month and they need to move a couple more to hit a sales mark (their July was much better than their August); and/or 3. I noticed a couple scratches on side view mirror; a small chip in paint; and a tiny ding in a panel (even though it had only 22mi on it).
Perhaps when I originally pointed those out, they figured ‘let’s wait until someone else comes in, who doesn’t notice those things and tries to nickel and dimes them down in price bc of imperfections.’ And Maybe nobody came in after me and they started getting itchy.
Sorry for all the extra information, But maybe this story helps somebody else out somewhere.

You can attach the worksheet (both old and new) as a picture to your post, but $500/mo for 48 months is certainly better than $620/mo for 36 months, but the worksheets could help us with the math.
The worksheet seems limited and I only have it from original offer. The other offer was by phone.
Notice that the prices on the right are under the heading "Purchase" - not all of those numbers are relevant to a lease, and some numbers are missing.
For the record, the doc fee, Security Guard and Zurich Shield are pretty much 100% profit for the dealer, and they are likely part of your lease quote as well.
Ask them if they would share a screen shot of their internal lease worksheet - that will contain everything we need to evaluate the quote.
