when I clicked on the link to see the picture of your "Navmate" installation, I got an error that said the page couldn't be found.
Also, looking forward to the DVD/LCD install pix when they get posted by fedlawman or otherwise.
3rd row sitting, backseat radio control, backseat foot rests, leather trim all seats (described as premium cloth but it is more leather than cloth), electric driver seat, garage door openers (x3) in the ceiling, overhead consols, aluminium wheels, storage bin behind 3rd row seat and driver informatin center(info for driver).
It might be different in the US.
Here in Canada, all this was just an extra C$2300 (or US$1500). Well worth it.
I would have liked the luxury package for the backup sensor, but I installed an after market backup sensor that was less than US$100 and took 1/2 to install and has digital readout.
Hope that answers your question.
Can I use it to inflate my tires? it does not seem to work, the tires seems to deflate instead.
Is there a trick to this?
Send them anytime.

I have a 2002 Rendezvous with both the drivers info center and the towing package.
First the driver's info center, it reports gas mileage, both instant and average, calculates oil life, based on engine operating conditions not just mileage, has a compass, low fuel warning, and approximate miles left on the tank of gas ( this auto resets after each fill up). The tire inflation monitor was supposed to be included, but was not available and G.M gives us Canucks a 25 dollar credit for it's omission.
Second the towing package, includes 125 amp alternator, heavy duty signal flasher, higher capacity engine oil cooler, heavy duty rad and transmission cooler, automatic level control, auxillary air compressor outlet and hose, and a trailer wiring harness.
What the harness does is plug into the underside of the vehicle and allow you to hook up your own type of harness into the Rendezvous without splicing anything on the vehicle.
The towing package costs 425 dollars here in canada (400 hundred with the tire monitor forcibly deleted) All in all it is a a good bang for the buck. It's silly though that a towing package doesn't come with a hitch.
One more thing I tow a 900 pound fiberglass house trailer with ours, and on the highway, the gas mileage drops in half while towing, on the other hand I have towed the trailer for hours at highway speeds during 100 degree weather, with the AC on and the Buick doesn't complain a bit.
Hope I have helped
Jeff
Sorry to ask an obvious question, but can you hear the pump running, you have to have the key forward before the pump will run. I am looking for another hose or hose extension so that I can use the pump to fill the tires on my dirt bike, and kids bicycles, I can't get that huge gauge to fit inside the rims where I need it.

I did feel underpowered on especially steep inclines at high altitudes. Engine seemed to hang up around the 2000 rpm mark, before responding to accelerator going uphill. Just had to advance plan any spectacular passing manuevers. Maybe because engine is still new?
Between Albany and Utica NY on the Thruway, developed a loud racket over 50mph when accelerating (like marbles bouncing off the road and hitting under the car). Nearly had a heart attack, but pulled into service area, checked all obvious items, found nothing wrong. So continued on..noise eventually stopped after a total of about 15 miles.Even got off at Utica, found a Buick dealer, noise had stopped of course, service dept all at lunch, talked to mgr, said he never heard that complaint. Purchased gas in Albany just prior(large, busy Exxon station), maybe a bad batch-bad gas ping? Anyone else had this happen? I haven't had this bad a gas knock in 30 years of driving. Rest of trip was fine, noise never returned.
My e-z pass didn't register most of the time when placed in the standard place, so I just ordered the exterior tag.
**Anyone traveling into the U.S from Canada, allow an extra 2 hours of waiting time at the 1000 Island/Watertown border. Traffic was held at the 1000 Island bridge toll booths before the customs area - only allowed 20 or 30 cars through at a time. Traffic backed up for miles, stopped and trapped basically for an hour and a half. There were electronic signs warning of the "expanded" customs procedures, but they weren't placed far enough back to be warned in advance. Use the "facilities" before you get off the "401"!
hi "islandpete" and others. thanks for mentioning that I haven't posted for a while. have been pretty busy, but will get back to this area more often. regards.
1. Model year 2000 (which mean 1999) Chevy Tahoe/Suburban/Silveradoes and their sister products (GMC Yukons, etc.)
2. 2002 May - July built cars and SUVs (Rendezvous is included).
The drive was comfortable for us 5 adult passengers and our lugguage plus food. There was enough room for everyone to not get tired. I averaged 70mph most of the way going into a slight headwind. Wind noise gets more audible at 70+ mph but not on a roaring level. I had 1800 miles on the odometer prior to the trip. Gas mileage averaged 21.5+ mpg on the way up and ~23 mpg on the way home without cruise control at any time. The air conditioning was set to number 1 at all times and was actually cold at times. I brought along my 3rd row bench.
Driving on flat and slight slopes are no problems for the RDV. Plenty of passing power whenever I desired. On more sloped highways, I had to let my RDV drop into a lower gear (foot off gas for a second) to maintain speed. Not really of a problem. Brakes worked well and never felt like they faded after frequent use down sloped highways.
Crossing the border in both directions was VERY quick for me over the Rainbow bridge. It felt quite unsettling that it took no more than 30 seconds to pass the border patrol who asked but one question.
Thanks again.
In response to a couple of posts from the last 2 months:
Netnerd and Dragontamer - It may just be coincidence, but my DIC oil change indicator always hits 0% at exactly 6000 miles from when I last set it (I don't use it much since my husband changes every 3000 - 3500 miles and he keeps track of milage in his little notebook). So I've always assumed it had nothing to do with the condition of the oil and was simply a reminder service based on the odometer. But I've only set it once, plus the original factory setting, so maybe it was coincidence.
nosuvyet - I didn't see an answer to your cargo mat question. I asked the dealer for a cargo mat since it wasn't included in my CXL Versatility package. It is a separate mat that is carpeted on one side, grooved rubber on the other, and is shaped to be a perfect fit in the rear cargo area.
We're seeing several RDV's per day around here. My kids have stopped pointing them out as novel. The current commercials Buick is running state that the RDV is outselling even the Lexus RX300 here in Michigan. Interesting note - I always see the most RDV's in the Target parking lot. RDV and Target have the same target market segment, I guess :-).
I wounder is the pump is too small to inflate these big tires.
I try to go to the dealership next week and inqire.
By the way, would you know if it is possible to add a memory function to the driver's electric seat? My wife and I take a long time to reset the seats when we change driver. I know that this was part of the luxury package, so it might just be something that need to connect to the motor under the seat.
"Within the next ten days we will receive the third Body Module for my wife's Rendezvous. This time they are going to replace the fuse block with the Body Module.
The Body Module is a term they use for the computer that runs the car. It holds the programming for everything electrical including the fuel injection, AC, Keys, and so forth. When it goes all the dial go to zero and the alarm comes on. You can kill it by turning the key off and the Onstar still works.
Has any one been having similar problems?"
I don't recall seeing this problem mentioned on the Town Hall
~Ken
EZ pass works every time if you put it on the driver's side, upper right corner (above the metallic film that's in the windshield).
The link to the Navmate photo doesn't work as it was posted with Explorer, but does work with Netscape. The picture should be accessible with the Explorer by using the same link without the http:
www.geocities.com/makogon/Navmate.jpg
One more thing - during an oil change before the trip the Buick dealership didn't reset the remaining oil life counter in the Driver Information Center, and I had to reset it myself - look out for that during your oil changes.
Regards,
Taras
Regarding e-z pass placement:
When you say the driver's side, upper right...do you mean just to the left of the rear-view mirror, as far up as possible? (as you are sitting in the drivers seat?)
As opposed to the recommended way-to the right of the mirror and an inch below the dark shaded area?
I have crossed at the Queenston Lewiston bridge into N.Y. three times this summer, each time pulling our trillium trailer with our Rendezvous. Twice the U.S customs wanted to see inside our trailer , and third time they didn't. The border guards were friendly and proffesional, and I support what they were doing 100 percent. The delay amounted to about 3 minutes each time.
Hey the Rendezvous isn't just pretty it's functional too. While on the way to states my 5 year old played on our laptop, 7 year old listened to Brittany Spears from the rear seat audio controls, my wife read a book, I listened to AM radio talkshows, while the Rendezvous pulled the trailer. When we were in the States I found a deal on a gas powered go kart for my kids that I just couldn't resist, so up on the roof it went.
I admit I haven't looked in the manual yet, but has anyone else discovered that the roof racks on ly slide about 30 inches apart. There is a screw/bolt in the track of mine that prevents the racks from being slid any further forward than that ? Why ?

For everyone else, Gamera is doing fine. My wife and I just moved from Fort Wayne, IN to Kansas City, MO and Gamera figured large in the move. He was great and averaged 22 MPG on the 650 mile trips one-way back and forth between FTW and KC. Not too far off the person a few posts above who got 23MPG on a long trip at 70MPH.
Just bought a compact refrigerator for the bar in my new house. The box said the box itself is 35" tall and guess what. It slid in the back of Gamera standing up! How many other crossovers have that sort of vertical clearance in back.
My best to everyone.

Also, yes I have the sunroof and thanks for the answer I should have figured out.
Jeff
I was not impressed.
I just received the TK1/430 kit from Thule so that I can use my Thule bar the next trip instead- the bars are more solid and I have stopper for the canoe so it is easyier to attach.
These low profile racks are more for look than utility. That is probably why the bicycle kit is actually a Thule kit. Smart move.
You'll note that I'm not referring to my factory bars - they bend with my boats too and are pretty much worthless except maybe for a soft luggage box.

kenym, regarding the BCM complaint: I made a similar post (probably in the Problems section) a few months back. I've seen numerous posts here about BCM replacements.
Thanks for the Navmate picture!
~Ken
I have similar problem with the BCU - it has been changed once already. It was broken again last week and this time they had to replace the whole display cluster. I have seen a few other messages referring to the same problem. Some of says this occurs because the phone charger is being used. I have noticed that in both of my cases - I have been using a quick charger (Motorola). I believe that this may be shorting something and blowing some circuit.
Hope this will help.
Don't get me started on whitewater kayakers who just throw a bungie over the middle of their boats!

In my last car, a Saturn, the reception was impecable inside the car - plastic roof in the wagon. But in the RDV I reveive only faintly some satelites - I know about the roof is metal and the windshear has a coating.
I borough a GPS antenna with suction cups to do some trials. I put the antenna above the coating in the front windshear and also on a side window, but because of the angle, the reception was very shacky.
I have come to the conclusion that I will need to put a permanent antenna on the roof.
Can someone with the OnStar tell me where they have put the GPS antenna?- should be a 2x2 inch low profile square.
I was thinking of installing the antenna behind the roof rack, on the black railing and runing the cable inside the hatch to avoid making a hole.
Anyone has experience with this?
Thanks
my EZ Pass is about 1/4" down from the headliner fabric and (from driver's seat) to the left of the mirror, actually behind the left side last inch of the mirror. Yes, it's opposite of where they say to put it, but there is a windshield antenna at that location.

After I got home, I solved the problem! The owners manual says that the driver's side blade is 24" and the passenger side is 22". I had the blades opposite to that when I took off my winter blades and put the regular blades back on. I never noticed that they are 2 different sizes and must be installed a certain way. I just want to bring this to everyone's attention.
Anyone have anything interesting to report on a 2003 RDV--changes from the 2002s?
There is no noticeable difference in the body or trim. Well maybe a few new colors for 2003 but that is about it.
~Ken
The windshield wiper section in the owners manual refers you to a specifications page where it is noted that the 2 blades are different sizes. Not too obvious! When I bought my winter blades the
Trico blade chart only had the 24" listed. I don't think that the OEM blade makers have recognized the fact that you must buy one 24" and one 22" blade. I'm calling my dealer's service manager to tell him to be wary of this.

Notice the Chrysler? It's my new company car.
Fuzz6's pictures are the last two.

Thanks, fedlawman, for posting those pix. Can you ID fuzzy's? I guess he has a 2003 with the entertainment setup? Is the Bose radio stock? What about the trim on the dash? It looks metallic or something.
