I would like to know which dealer selling the CRV for slightly under MSRP? I am tempting to get a 2003 LX CRV. I live in Westminster, Colorado.
Thank you in advance for the info.
Tom
As for the CRV, I really like it. I'm enjoying the peppy 4 cyl engine, 6 cd changer, and moonroof the most. I also like all the little cubbies to stash things - well engineered! I went the way of GG and traded in those factory tires for 5 225/70R15's with white raised letters. They look GREAT on the CRV, very little road noise and handle well. I have them aired at 29 psi at this time but may deflate a little more as time goes on. The tires are needed for beach cruising down the Cape-can't wait.
I have not had any of the issues that others have experienced. My VIN does start w/ a "J". No strange noises, no stalling, no streaks in the rear window, no problems whatsoever. I hope it stays this way. Yakima and Thule both now have rack systems for the 2002 CRV. That is my next addition to my CRV. I think I'm going w/ a basket. They're quite versatile.
Anyway, I'll keep you all informed as the mileage racks up on the CRV.

Juice - They've been flats, more than blowouts. No real danger.
My wife gets them all the time. In fact for that exact reason I swapped her "donut" for a full size spare.

Now I can see the advantages of the CR-V's full-size spare being on the back.
arkydog - agree with you on tire pressure. my crv came from the dealer with 38 psi, i lowered to ~ 33. the ride got marginally quieter, but i find the noise varies significantly depending on road surface. if you drop to 26, you almost certainly give up some mpg too.
muckyduck - let me know how you get your rocking seat issue resolved. (and how have other '02 owners had theirs resolved?). what was the vin range for this issue? i would like to get the TSB # if you get it. thanks. btw, i had a rattle noise above my drivers side visor as well, fiddled around in the headliner area, and it seems to have gone away.
haven't tried the rear wiper yet, but the picture sure tells the story...odd.
greetings from sunny miami.

Questions -
For anyone that has had seat fixed - are these the parts that were replaced on your crv? My crv is outside the VIN range given for the TSB seat rocking issue.
Does anyone else have drivers side window problem?
Did not expect headliner to be fixed - does not happen all the time.
As for tires - I've never seen (or at least noticed) wear pattern on my other cars that I see on crv.

I love everything about it except the rear visibility - thought I'd get used to it but after a couple of weeks I still find it difficult to back out of parking spaces, parallel park, check my blind spot when changing lanes. It's a combination of the small high rear window, the privacy glass and the pillars between doors and windows. (Not the rear headrests - I've followed your suggestions on those!) Any suggestions? (No problems doing these things in any of our previous cars - Stanza wagon, '87 Camry, '98 Civic.)
One other question - the transmission (manual) isn't as "buttery" as our Civic, which slides into gear like silk. The CR-V sort of thunks in and out of gear, more like my son's '90 Camry. Is this usual, or is it my car? Should I have their service people drive it and see what they think? The clutch is fine. (I've been driving sticks - pretty much only sticks - for 30-something years, so this isn't inexperience...)
There's nothing in the manual about the foldaway sideview mirrors - do I just push them in? There's no release button or something? This is important to me because my son lives on a narrow one-way street in NYC and I'm afraid to park there when I visit - he's had his side-view destroyed by a passing truck.
Quark - There are aftermarket mirrors which can be installed (rather inexpensively) to help improve rearward visibility.
I'm about to buy a new CRV and have been asking around for price quotes. I got one that quoted a price at MSRP (which includes the destination charge) plus a "DEALER FEE of $499.00 ( This charge represents costs and profit to the dealer for items such as inspecting, cleaning, and adjusting vehicles, and preparing documents relating to the sale' )".
I was under the impression this is what the destination fee is meant for. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks
...Steve
I've had better luck negotiating an out the door price after doing my homework to determine what a reasonable price should be. The invoice is usually written up with a few "fees" but the bottom line is what I negotiated. On the '01 Accord I bought, the dealer charged the wrong amount for sales tax and had to eat the loss.
I am considering ordering one anyway. Then I can buy color-matched paint from Paintscratch.com. Slugline did something like this. I've been able to get enough paint and primer to do this job for about $70.00 (US dollars).
Varmint -- do you think the painted plastic will hold up over time? How would you go about painting it to make sure it adhered well?
Adhesion is very good after 6 month, doesn't come off when I rub my finger on it.
Honda definately needs to look at Nissan and see the nicer colors they offer on their cars and trucks. The CRV needs to be offered in a light metallic green (not clover green from a Civic) and a silver aqua-blue or a copper color.
I know.... this is Honda wer'e talking about... you get what you get.
There's also the fact that trendy colors like lemon yellow do nothing for resale value. Fashion trends change and make it hard to sell those vehicles.
As the model years progress, I would expect a repeat of past history, where head-turning shades are re-introduced to the lineup to stir up interest. I'd be curious to see what a yellow one would look like, but I think it's likely that Honda would decide that it's a fad that has passed.
180/temperature of B and traction also B just looking around all this problems with these tires been loud these tires are not really that good at all i think that they could do better.

I didn't go to the dealer yet, so I don't know if this a common problem or it just my car. Does anybody have similar thing?
Thanks
