Can you help with the 48/12000k numbers for a MDX A-Spec in or near 46368? Any loyalty or incentives? Specifically looking to verify the money factor, residual value, and verify the dealer cash amount. When I mentioned the dealer cash they acted like they didn’t know what I was referring to and it’s likely because I was using the wrong term.
Also, can you give any tips on how to leverage this in the negotiation phase? I have a dealership telling me that the residual value is somewhere around 40-41% and I know that’s not right for a new 2025. I got them to admit that the Money factor is now .00156 after they swore it was .00250. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I plan to talk to them first thing in the morning so this will be helpful.

.00156 MF and 47% RV $2900 dealer cash
Dealer cash is a dealer incentive - they don't have to disclose it to the customer. Just negotiate your best price knowing they get that money from the factory.
Dealer can inflate the MF for extra profit, but cannot alter the residual, as that is set by the bank.
Also, they could be quoting a higher MF for a lower credit tier, before they run your credit and discover you qualify for the top tier rate (which is what we quote, above).

The dealer gave me 13% off the msrp of $63,750. Considering where I’m trying to get my payments ($650 per month) it’s still not enough. I did find out that dealer cost for the vehicle is about $53k anyway so even with that 13% off they’d still make a profit. I’m not sure if that 13% was inclusive of the dealer cash or not. I can ask that tomorrow when I speak to them.
The dealer already agreed that the MF would be .00156 so I’m good there now. It’s just that they came with the .00250 even though I informed them that my credit would likely fall into tier 1. It wasn’t until I informed them I knew better They then came back with the .00156 after the fact. They actually told me that the rv would be about $26,000 with the msrp of $63750 which equates to about 41%. However based on the msrp of $63,750 and the 47% you quoted for the rv that residual value should be about $29,962. Not sure what they did to get that number considering the RV can’t be altered.
Finally, I saw something that said the RV is 50% (chatgpt) but you quoted 47%. Are you sure you quoted for the A-Spec and not the Advanced package? Because I do see where the advanced package is 47% but I’m looking at the A-spec and it’s showing 50%.
Thank your for all your insight. This has been very helpful.

47% is the correct residual for 48/12 on the A-Spec trim.
Assume that any price you are offered includes the dealer cash; 13% seems strong, but I don't know the market. Have you shopped other dealers to see if you can do better?
The RV is applied against the total MSRP, including options, packages, and the destination charge - the bottom line number of the factory window sticker.
If you're trying to hit a certain payment, you may have to adjust your budget and shop less expensive vehicles (or trims).

Thanks for all your help and insight. I was able to negotiate a final payment of $660 per month for 48/12k on a new 2025 A-Spec today. Waiting to hear back once they ship the actual color I want from another dealer.
