The answer is no. I have enjoyed looking on this site and I am still searching for the right deal. Looking for a Limited Ultimate Package with Black Saddle. Definitely want the cross rails and mats. Received a quote for about 300 over invoice. Figure I can do better. I guess I will keep searching.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
Sorry to hear that you are not making any progress. You can get less than 300 over invoice from the buying services. As you can see on this board, some 07s are going for $3K under invoice. Be patient, I am sure a good deal will come your way! Good Luck!
  • taruncheeltaruncheel Member Posts: 14
Thanks! I am still waiting and searching. I hope to find something soon. If anyone has had any more luck, I would like to know. After doing the test drive, I was sold on this vehicle. Looked at others, but I don't think anything compares for the price and room.

The '08s are on the way and dealers need to just get rid of the '07s they have left. You should be able to find something very near, or at invoice without too much trouble. Not on the '08s though...
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
At invoice, then you are paying about $3K too much. The housing market is already impacting the car market. It will get worse before it gets better.

Any good tips for getting a better deal? I could use the help!

I bought my 07 Veracruz limited over the Labor Day holiday that had entertainment package with Saddle interior, mats and roof cross rails that sticker MSPR price was $36,525 and I paid $29,995 + TTL. This price includes $2000 financing bonus and $500 rebate for competitive truck upgrade so this comes to $3846 under invoice (by Edmunds, invoice price is $33841). I got it at Huffines Hyundai in McKinney Tx. Had very good experience with the dealer and sales person. Had another dealer offer the same price first but they had a minor issue so I went back to Mckinney and bought it there since they treated me well in the negotiation. The second dealer treated me well also but I just felt better giving the business to Huffines. Closer to home and giving the business to people near by.

Thanks! Sounds like you did get a good deal!

$3800 may be our new leader.

Please tell us more about the balloon financing deal. Can you pay it off early?

    Thanks

I got a quote for a 2008 veracruz Limited (including floor carpet and first Aid Kit) for $34,500.00 OTD is this a good price. Dealer's located in Riverside, CA. They had 3 on the lot.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
Depending on AWD or FWD, options, and what OTD means to you?

How much is it above invoice?
  • seeker8seeker8 Member Posts: 3
OTD (out the door) price, refers to total cost of 2008 limited .. FWD. I was show invoice of 31,500 + 300 (avertising) + 695 (destination).. was able to negotiate total cost to be $34,500. (options were the Floor mats & First aid kit)Which is around $800.00 below invoice. Was told that there were no rebates on 2008.

I'm picky, so if I'm going to lay down north of 30K for a vehicle, I'm going to get exactly what I want. I inquired about factory-ordering a VC. Of course the local dealer wanted to sell what was on the lot, but was also very accomodating to my wishes. He quoted a 30-60 day delivery time for the vehicle, which is about what I expected.

My problem however, lies with his insistance on including the $300 ad fee. My point is, if I'm specifically ordering the car for me, he doesn't have to advertise it. I won't pay this fee. Off the lot, sure...it's built into every sticker, but not on an order.

At the very least, it should definitely NOT be a $300 addition to the deal if it is built into the MSRP already. Shouldn't my MSRP be $300 less in this case?
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
This is just my opinion. Considering that posts on this board claim that they are paying up to $3K less for a 07, $800 below invoice does not sound like a great deal to me. The real question is: Do you have to buy the car now or can you wait until rebates? A FWD may be hard to sell in the winter.

Based on your note it seems that all the TTL costs came to $3K?

Any other comments from the board?
    Good Luck!
  • seeker8seeker8 Member Posts: 3
I agree with you in the sense that the 2008 just came out and currently there isn't any rebates. Eventually there will be some rebates (hopefully in a few months, or sooner). I guess, I'll wait and see what happens in the near future. Thanks for your comments.
  • santana4santana4 Member Posts: 2
Yes you can pay off the balloon financing early with no pre-payment penalty. That is exactly what I plan to do. Could not pass up the $2000 incentive on this.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
    Great job!

You are the new king of the deal board!

    Thanks for sharing.

I also got the balloon financing and intend to pay it off early. There is one problem though....

HMFC seems to not want their money! My first payment is 24 hours from being late and I have not yet received ANYTHING from Hyundai. Called HMFC a week ago and they had no knowledge of my financing. Called the dealership and they claimed to have sent in the paperwork a while ago. After three days of going back and forth between the dealer and HMFC it seems like until now there was nobody at HMFC funding to sign off on the deal. Apparently they are doing some "restructuring."

I can only imagine what a nightmare it's going to be to close out my account with them.

I was really excited about Hyundai. It seems like all the effort their engineers have put into building Lexus-quality cars might go down the drain b/c of incredibly lousy service.

Just wondering if this is legal and if anyone is willing to do this. Is there any way to prove that people are getting the deals that they are saying? (Scan the sale with all of the things that we are not supposed to show (salespeople, phone numbers, etc) marked off.) The reason is this might give us (those that are still looking to buy) some more leverage. It's hard for a GM to go, "Ok, let's give him a deal just because he saw it on a discussion board.". Just curious. I am working with someone now and I could use any help that is out there. Thanks!
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
These posts provide you information of some of the best deals in the market place. You must decide what you are willing to pay for the car. If you do not like the deal, politely leave your number (in the event they change their mind, they often do) and walk away. Then start looking for another dealer. Even if you had a copy of someone else's deal, the dealership GM is under no legal obligation to match or beat it.

Sorry if I overstep my bounds. By no means was I trying to do anything against the TOS. I appreciate all the help that has been given. Forgive me if I was in error. I was going on the principal of "If you can find another place that will offer you the price, we will match or beat it." Again, forgive me.
  • taruncheeltaruncheel Member Posts: 14
I am quite amazed at how different prices are from dealer to dealer. I basically did what you guys said and read the different posts. I wrote to the different dealers to get a price quote and I have received offers anywhere from invoice to about 1100 under invoice. Still waiting to hear from 2 more. I have quite a few dealerships around me, so that is a big help. Hopefully I will have good news to share within 1-2 weeks. Thanks again!

Looking right now, and many dealers (in the DC area) seem to have few to no 2007 Limited AWD's, and most are now pushing the 08's. Best offer I have in hand thus for for an 08 Limited AWD is $32,700 (not including tax, tags and title)
  • bigjimd2804bigjimd2804 Member Posts: 34
Here in NE Ohio, the 08's are still very scarce. Most dealers have quite a few 07's in stock, but no Limiteds. I have been able to get quotes for 2008's at dealer cost without pressing the issue, but so far no one is offering to go UNDER invoice. That $37,200 deal for an 08 Limited AWD is at least $1136 under invoice (assuming no options), which isn't too bad in my book. Those Texas deals posted earlier for $3,000 to $3,800 under invoice sound so good they make me consider jumping on a plane with a one-way ticket! :)

Hello all. Just an update. I have found that the internet quotes from dealers work great. Currently this is the offer that I am looking at.

2007 Black Diamond Limited with Ultimate Package and Black Saddle. Floor Mats and Cross Rails

31,758 OTD (This does include the 1000 cash rebate for competive model). Considering I started with one dealer at 34,100, I would say that I am making progress.
  • acopseyacopsey Member Posts: 10
Wow, that is a good deal! Best I have been offered for a 2007 Limited AWD (is that what your quote is for?) without the Ultimate package is $31,490 (not including tax, tags and title), in MD it comes to OTD for $33,379.50
  • wpewpe Member Posts: 9
That's a GREAT deal. Three weeks ago I purchased the same car, even same color, w/Ultimate, regular leather, with a trailer package thrown in for $32,600.
  • acopseyacopsey Member Posts: 10
wpe, where are you located? Just curious about that deal for the ultimate. Pretty darn good.
  • 2hoyas2hoyas Member Posts: 1
    Hi,
Would you mind sharing what dealer you got that quote through or if you've found any dealers that have been more receptive to negotiating than the rest in the DC area? I'm in the hunt for the 2007 Veracruz Limited as well and it has been a slower process that I'd hoped...unfortunately, my primary car died last week and I'm crunched for time - it would be nice to get something this weekend and avoid a rental car while I keep looking and negotiating.

Most everything I've seen is about $1100 below invoice before negotiations which seems to be significantly more than the deal you've got in hand...

Also, please forgive my "newbie" question - but I'm assuming the OTD price does not include tax, title or tags but does include freight, advertising and processing fees?

Thank you for any insight you can provide!!!!
  • wpewpe Member Posts: 9
    Atlanta.

and to clarify that is FWD, not AWD.
  • acopseyacopsey Member Posts: 10
Oh wow. Well that makes a difference. The price I am quoting is for a AWD. Just got a better offer to get me to $33,200 OTD.
  • taruncheeltaruncheel Member Posts: 14
I don't mind helping. The quote I received is from Bob King Hyundai in Winston-Salem, NC. This is from their internet quote price and not by going to the dealer. You can request a free quote and they will send you an email. They have been a pleasure to work with and I am about a week away from purchasing. They even sent me an email to take $200 of the quote if I would purchase this weekend.

BTW, this is not the AWD and this did include Tax, Fees, etc. and the $1000 rebate for the competitive model.

    Hope this helps!

While it may not be the best deal out there, I was happy with the purchase price for our 08 VC Limited from the dealer in Texas City. We purchased ours on August 22.

    $30384
    $ 1586.50 tax
    $ 247.92 title, license, etc
    $32218.42 drive out

I don't know if it was the smartest thing, but we also threw in the extended warranty for $947.
  • mdhuttonmdhutton Member Posts: 195
Do you typically keep a vehicle for a long period of time (6+ years) or drive a lot of miles (20-25K + per year)? If so, the extended warranty might make SOME sense.

Otherwise, on a vehicle with 10/100 coverage on powertrain and 5/60 on most else, I'm not sure the value is worth what you paid, but everone's peace-of-mind is priced differently.
  • acopseyacopsey Member Posts: 10
You should be very happy with that deal. An 08 Limited for $30,384 (plus TT&L)? Best I have been quoted thus far in MD for that vehicle was $32,800. :confuse:
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
    The current leaders are:

    07 Limited - $3800 under invoice.

    08 Limited - $???? under invoice.
  • jaxsterjaxster Member Posts: 1
Where is this? My dealers in Illinois are not budging on the prices. I have been trying to get an 07 Limited even 300 under invoice and it is next to impossible.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
Go back and read the last 30-50 posts.

The best deal has been in TX, but others are making significant progress toward the $3800 goal.

I suggest you increase your search radius.

    Patience and persistence.

    Good luck.
  • mdhuttonmdhutton Member Posts: 195
    Jaxster,

Have you tried Rosen Hyundai in Algonquin? They're usually pretty good. They also have 8 remaining '07s on their main lot that haven't moved an inch in a month and have about 10 '08s out back. I'm sure they want to move 'em.
  • jmaulsbyjmaulsby Member Posts: 54
I just purchased a base model SE with FWD. With the $1,000 competitive SUV encentive, my drive out price was $25,000. The price does not include trade in. I had 3 dealers scrambling to find the vehicle I wanted and the prices kept dropping each time they called.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
How much was your deal under invoice?

    Thanks
  • acopseyacopsey Member Posts: 10
My wife and I just purchased our Veracruz out in No Va. Black with Beige Leather Interior. Our Price was $30,953, and we were OTD for $33,200 (included floor mats and a sunroof deflector deal). Looks to be about $1444 under invoice (as we paid no destination/freight charge)

Not the greatest price on the board to date, but a pretty darn good one. Seems the 07's are tough to find with AWD locally, as the 08's are streaming in. Sold my wifes car privately, had an autodraft (pre approved check) from our Credit Union, and had negotiated the price up front over email. We were done in an hour. Thanks for all the help.
  • wpewpe Member Posts: 9
    Was this w/Ultimate package?
  • irving82irving82 Member Posts: 2
Would you tell me what dealer in Texas city that you've purchased your car from? Does your car has any added options? I think it is a very good deal because the invoice price for an 08 VC without any options is $32,272. Thanks.
  • jmaulsbyjmaulsby Member Posts: 54
    $2,000
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
    The current leaders are:

    07 Limited - $3800 under invoice.

    08 Limited - $1,100? under invoice.

    08 SE - $2000 under invoice.

    Keep posting the good deals.

Does anyone have any pricing on the 07 GLS FWD?

I have recieved $24,921 including the Comp rebate of $1000, plus tax and tags, which seems to be invoice.

Just wondering how this compares to other GLS FWD prices.
  • selooseloo Member Posts: 606
Considering that some have paid $3800 below invoice on a 07.

Your deal does not look to be very good.
