The wife and I are going to Syracuse for Christmas. My brother-in-law tells me it's snowing, so a white Christmas is possible. Unfortunately the Subaru is staying in Florida because *grumble*. (They are pick-up people...)

Patti: what was wrong with AOL 7.0? I put it on my mother's computer Labor Day weekend... I wonder whether I should put 6.0 back on - just to avoid the dreaded phone call "AOL's not working".

Happy happy and merry merry. I'm going to try to get on line over the holidays! See you next year!

    Pete.

Well for the holidays and for alice, you remember alice, Arlo is coming to town in February (to a beach town near you) and I bought 6 tickets (yeah, they're a x-mas present, yeah that's it)
Time for a thanksgiving dinner that's never been beat.

well my Christmas is now complete, My daughter, husband, grandson and two dogs just arrived, beat out from driving 19 hours straight, but glad to be here.

I would like to wish to all my friends here at the Subaru crew a happy joyful and peaceful Christmas, and may all your hopes and dreams for the new year come to fruition.

    Cheers Pat.

OK, Ross. "It's not snowing in DC either." Um, I'm waiting? Hello, Mother Nature, did you hear me?

BTW, don't forget presents for your Subies. I think I'm getting that felt liner for all the interior storage spots I've been talking about.

Despite the events on 9/11, I was fortunate to have a good year. Got to meet lots of my Crew buddies at the Baltimore and Philly Auto Shows for the WRX intro, and who can forget Pine Barrens?

Here's hoping 2002 is even better, for all of the Crew. Merry Christmas, Kwaanza, Holidays, whatever you and yours celebrate.

How about we each suggest a New Years Resolution suggestion for Subaru? I'll start by asking for knock-out new products in the STX and the Forester replacement. Impress us like you did with the WRX, please.

Resolution? I'll be so bold as to bet I speak for paisan as well and hope Subaru resolves not to let itself fall into the 'brand management' mentality and quality lapses that have plagued its major investor GM in recent years.

    Mental block. You scared me half to death so I blocked it out after much therapy with Ross. Oh, no, Ross, we have to start all over again! %*}

The snow gods are having their fun with me. Immediately after writing that it had started to snow, I went down to Rufus. By the time I left the underground parking at my place - wait for it - it stopped again. Never realized I could control the weather other than by washing my car.

Juice: You will have to hang on until the new year unless it's a true emergency. I'm going to veg for the next 11 days. :-)

Sorry I've been A.W.O.L. I was in court for 7 days and the lawyers were driving me nuts with requests.

Just wanted to drop in and wish everybody a Merry Christmas. I hope Santa brings you what you want, if you've been good that is.

I'm Audi 5K for Cozumel and the Caymans tomorrow, so you all have a peaceful week. I'll be back for New Year's.

Maybe Santa will leave me a Brullen. :))

Apologies for missing the chat...had a better offer in the form of dinner at Dad's retirement complex... free food!

Besides, I had to jump in here just to get number sixty six sixty six!

Not to gloat, or brag... but I'm actually done with my Christmas shopping! No 11th hour santa stress this year! What a difference it makes... I think I'm going to go have a glass of vino, just because!

    Cheers!

    G'day
While you are all praying for snow, could you please put in a request for unshine and light breezes for us down under. I have just loaded my Mirror dinghy on the trailer and we are setting out for the trip down the coast to Apollo Bay. Mountains, Rainforest, Beach, good food, Christmas in Australia.

And yes, it probably will involve throwing another shrimp on the barbie. I'll tell you about how well the Outback tows a heavy load across the mountains and how good it is for boat launching when I return

    Cheers

Allow me to chime in, now that all you at-work posters have probably escaped for the weekend. :)

To all: May the coming year be filled with joy, good health, peace, lots of snow & no maintenance issues!

To those for whom it applies: In light of the events of this past fall, it's even more important to me that all of you have a joyous, peaceful, satisfying Christmas. If you're so inclined, take a moment & give a thought to those families who lost loved ones in September - this is going to be a hard one for them. If you're traveling, go gently & stay safe. Hug your kids, hug your parents, and don't eat TOO much.

Thanks for such a great place to hang out. I'm honored & privileged to be a part of the crew.

    Cheers!

Loosh - Que Pasta (I think that's Italian :) check with Paisan) Cozumel for Christmas. Yeah, I could do that. If you haven't been there before, the diving is incredible.

Graham - It isn't easy for most of us Yanks to comprehend Christmas in summer(Florida & Calif excluded). I'd love to see your country someday.

Let's be real, Santa can't get around fast enough with some reindeer pulling his sleigh in one night. He drives a Subaru WRX to deliver the goods. See those tiremarks in your driveway, they were caused by Santa spinning slippery RE-92s. Do you know how many reindeer power is equivalent to 227 horses? Move over Rudolph, Santa needs to get hauling.

Now, if my NY Times delivery guy only had a WRX, perhaps I could get my paper by 7.30.

Happy Holidays All! Legacy waxed one more time this week for the winter. Blizzaks are on. Let it snow, let it snow. Please!

    G'day,

I was travelling in Australia and New Zealand for past 3 weeks, and now I'm back! (not that anybody noticed ;-)

    Juice, congrats! Babies are fun.

Graham, what a nice country you live in! My last trip was to Apollo bay and 12 Apostoles. Beautiful place, just gorgeous.

Many Soobs on the road. Saw a few turbo Foresters, and plenty of normally-aspirated ones. The South Island of NZ is full of the old Subaru Leone (Loyale in the US) wagons...

And that exchange rate, especially in NZ! Shoppers and diners' paradise, really.

    Happy Holidays, mates!

Boy, folks are traveling all over the world! Must be nice! We're hangin' at home, but are kinda wishing we had made plans to fly to Brazil. Next year...

If you get the E! Entertainment Channel, they had an excellent show on Rio de Janeiro last night. That really made us regret not making plans, it was beautiful!

Oh, well. We hit Orlando in February. Any chance I could rent a WRX for the week, or does Santa have dibs on those? ;-)

Just wanted to wish everyone on this board a Happy and Healthy New Year! I hope everyone gets what they wish for the holidays. I also want to say that this board has been informative and allowed me to meet some nice people in person, including Mike(Paisan), Juice, Bob, Dave, and Dennis.

    Drive safe everyone!

Got a little dusting of snow - probably about 1/2 inch. So, Brooke (7 months old) can have a white Christmas after all!

Nice snow pics Paisan. Is that a sony cybershot camera w/ mpeg video?

Be safe wherever your sube takes you this holiday - whether Grandma's house or the local 7-11.

  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
It is a Nikon 775 and it can take 15 second .mov (quicktime movies) on it. This was the first weekend with the camera (it was a christmas gift) and it is really good so far. :)

  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
I have a sony cybershot s50 that can also take 5, 10, 15, 30 mpegs. It can take 60 second mpegs also, but at something like 120 resolution (it's 300 something resolution otherwise).

Welcome back! We missed you; the quality/volume of Aztec and Tribute jokes was way down. ;) (My older boy says the Aztec is the oddest thing on the road, without my prompting -- I'm so proud!)

Seasons greetings to everyone on the Subaru boards, Karen et al at Edmunds, and Patti of Subaru.

    Cheers,

Finally got to work and a T1 quick enough to load those pix. Very nice. Love the ones where you see both axles tossing up snow. AWD4ME2!

    White Christmas? I'm envious.

BTW, the ski hat from that chat came in the mail, just in time for Xmas!

It's light blue and has the Subaru name across the front. Very comfy, but a bit small for my big head, so it may end up on my 2 year old!

    True.

BTW, you had to visit the web site and sign up to receive updates via e-mail. So it wasn't the first 15 to the chat, it was the first 15 to sign up at the web site, which I provided a link to here in this thread.

That means people that could not get to the chat still had a chance at the hat.

Mike - I hope you signed up, because the colors match perfectly with your soccer jersey (light blue/blue).

To our dear hosts: can you check if our weekly chat is on for tonight? I though it might not be because of the holidays.

    -juice
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
guess there is no chat tonight. just tried - it said it was CLOSED.

    oh well.

    -Brian
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yep, me too. I think they may have mentioned something last week, I just don't recall specifically.

I'm off to the DC auto show tomorrow morning, so that should be fun.

    -juice
  • lark6lark6 Member Posts: 2,565
No chat so I'm finally catching up on the boards. Have fun at the DC show, juice, and please report to us on anything new or unusual. There hasn't been much talk about returning to the Philly show so I'm wondering if folks are planning to go to NY where there should be more new model introductions.

    Ed
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
I'm planning on going, probably drag Dave and Bat161 with me.

    Mike,

Let me know when, and I'll join you. What are the dates again?

    Mark
  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
I'm more inclined to go NY than to Philly, simply because there will be a new Forester, if for no other reason. Like the DC show, I doubt we'll see anything really new at Philly.

    Bob
  • bluesubiebluesubie Member Posts: 3,497
I'm also more inclined to go to NY than Philly because -
    A. It's only about 45 minutes from my house
    B. I got food poisoning after the Philly show and was out of work for 3 days. Think I got it at Pat's.
    C. Easier to chase paisan on roads that I know.

Anyone think that they'll have a Baja hidden in Philly? Then after the Detroit intro, show it a few days later? Or maybe Philly will unveil the Legacy GT with H6 or AVCS.

    -Dennis
