    Juice,

You're kidding me, right? You mean that you're settling on your condo on the EXACT SAME DAY as I settle on my new house? We will be closing at 2pm...is that the same too? This is tooooo strange.

    Doo,doo,doo,doo

    That's just too weird.

Good luck with it, Juice, hope all goes well. We will do the final walkthrough tonight. All set.

I think that'll be smooth and easy. I've already withdrawn a cashier's check for the down payment, now *that* was tough!

Yep, I got the cashiers check this morning myself. The bank must not do them that often, as the teller had that "deer in the headlights" look for a minute.

huh, maybe it only doesn't work if you have them in the storage bin. added this to an album... let's see if it works for y'all

Hee hee. Good luck at settlement.

Make sure that you get credit for whatever you have already paid for. In my case, we paid for the appraisal fee, a deposit when we placed the contract, and a credit from the seller for some minor repairs that could not be done in time.

Colin: I can see the image.

Good luck to you, too, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Yep, I'll be sure to verify that I'm credited for what we've paid for. So far, it's initial deposit, appraisal, home inspection and one years hazard insurance.

We spend last Saturday going over how to open and maintain the pool with the current owners. Very generous folks who'll make great neighbors for someone. I'll have just enough time to get the lawn mowed once we close, and then it's travel time to upstate NY for the holiday weekend.

Can't wait to handwash my OBS in my very own driveway...Yeah!! Must buy clay.

    -Dan-
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I don't think there will be a charge for hazard insurance at settlement, but check anyway. I think that's basically left up to the individual to arrange.

Pool at your place, beach near mine, we need to host some Subaru Crew meets!

I used to post images like that, but then Sony put a stop to it. Maybe it's allowed again.....lemme go try and post in the Gallery.

    There you go.

I see the ol' impreza on the track now too.

As Pat mentioned, when you click on an image in an album, it now opens a new windows with a blue header and a title of "Picture View", giving the image details (date, exposure, size, etc.). If you right-click the image in that screen, you'll get the url for the pic.

This is the url that opened up the new window, notice the pic url is contained in it: http://www.imagestation.com/mypictures/inbox/view.html?id=4171686- 648&url=http%3A//www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid116/pc12a8- 781f266db370433fc406f365dcc/f8a6e2f8.jpg&caption=front%20prof- ile&album_id=4286857491&from_album=1

Here's the pic url all by itself: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid116/pc12a8781f266db37043- 3fc406f365dcc/f8a6e2f8.jpg

I have a couple of my imagestation pics in my profile and they work just fine here at home (signed in to imagestation or not, even after flushing my browser caches). Works at work too where I'm not signed into ImageStation.

well, I did some dinking around and it doesn't work reliably on nabisco or any other forum that uses anything other than standard HTML tags. For whatever reason...

Glad to know it works great here on Edmunds!

  • hondafriekhondafriek Member Posts: 2,984
Colin, I posted some over at nabisco and discovered the same thing. While the photo did come up initially after a short time the pic. was replaced by a red X in a box.

No problems posting pics. here though.

     Cheers Pat.

here at Edmunds! Congrats to all on new babies, safe trips home, new cars and new members (welcome Frog)and new homes!

Also, I hope all injuries heal quickly and properly (cars and bodies).

Okay - time to be a Mom for a bit. I'll read and post in detail tomorrow!

You know, I get that now and then when I post a pic over at MPVClub. But, usually just right-clicking and hitting 'Show Picture' in Internet Explorer seems to get it to display after 1 or 2 tries.

    -Brian
  • hondafriekhondafriek Member Posts: 2,984
I usually never post anywhere else but here and Nabisco, usually once the red box comes up in Nabisco I cannot get the pic back no matter how many times I right click on show picture.

      Cheers Pat.

Just picked up an '04 Forester and love the car already. One thing I noticed after washing and waxing is paint swirls on the clearcoat. Anyone else notice the Woodland Green is prone to this?

Anyone have a silver bullet type product they have had success with removing swirls etc. in the past??

Its good to a Subaru Owner!

I dropped off my Legacy at the body shop and my insurance company arranges for Hertz to pick me up and provide a rental.

The good news - they pick me up in an Outback!

The bad news - it's not my rental unless I cover the difference. 8~(

Colin was correct (as I expected as well), medically, they only found soreness. (Which is good.)

  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
    Jim,

Good to know the medical diagnosis wasn't anything serious.

It's worth paying the difference for a vehicle you like. Do you know what the "standard" rental is?

    dining? start here:

    http://www.chowhound.com/midatlantic/boards/dc/dc.html

I don't think it competes with Edmunds, so the link should be ok. :)
  • jfljfl Member Posts: 1,399
Loosh, I'd be careful about that link, I'm sure here's something, somewhere on Chowhound about cars and food. 8~P

Sure bummed to go there and immediately see a thread about crab cakes. If it weren't for local trout and the occasional halibut care package I get, I'd have to leave this inland spot.

Serge, glad to hear you were able to kill the malware - the instructions looked a bit daunting to me.

Serge, Loosh is the Balt/Wash food expert. He knows the best places to go. I always bow to his expertise. When you're in town let us know, we'd love to hook up. When Ken was here a year and a half ago, we did so. Great fun!

True, and we do get the reds flying in here too :-)

My sister used to live down the street from the Inn at Little Washington but I could never justify the $100+ entrees when there was BBQ to be had at the roadside shacks in the county.

This is the same sister I keep suggesting Foresters to, but she keeps wanting me to look up MINI prices here.

Oh yeah, I can endorse Lucien as being a Baltimore area foodie. As Bob mentioned, he gave me quite a few great choices while we were there. I think I still have the cards from the restaurants I ate at: Charleston, Le Petite Louis, Olive Tree...

I really had a great time then. I'm hoping there's another conference I can attend at Baltimore soon.

  • dcm61dcm61 Member Posts: 1,567
I'm going to report her for talking on a hand held cell phone with driving (into the garage wall) in NJ.

Hey, AWD (All Wind Drive) was my suggestion. I'll email you my address so you can send me my yearly royalty check.

I believe that your name MAY have come up in casual conversation, as in the context of "typing like Brenda". But it was't me, and I don't talk out of school! :) Rob M.

    I'm off The Fence!

We looked and looked but there just isnt any way to get a foot under the power seat mounting in the new Legacy GT or OB XT. A metal rod is under that trim piece at the bottom of the back side of the front seats and it doesnt move up or down with the seat....and while we were looking at seating comfort at a Subaru dealer we happened to drive by while on vacation 250 miles from home,a Sierra Gold Forester XT PP knocked me off the Fence!

Had an absolutely perfect car buying experience at Viking Subaru in Charleston,SC, which I will describe in the Forester buying experience/price forum.

Good luck Crew still on The Fence. If you dont have need for passenger foot room in the back seat, the new Legacy GT Ltd and Outback XT Ltd are awesome vehicles and terrific values.

    Mark,

Good luck with your new Forester. Excellent vehicle (my wife wants one).

One question... Did the GT or OB XT have the subwoofer? If so, you might have been feeling the subwoofer under the left front seat.

I sat in the right rear seat and found the foot room under the right front seat to be usable. Not great, mind you, but usable.

    Regards,

    Dan.
