It goes without saying, but I will say it anyhow. I cannot thank you guys enough for your thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot to us.
Now for the lighthearted side of the evening. I have some office work to do, and was going to connect thru dialup. Just for kicks, I tried the wireless. There she is, SSID = Belkin54G, no encription! So this message comes to you all courtesy of some free bandwidth on the Upper East Side. Who said that there is no such thing as a free lunch?
Steve
Why is it always more difficult to work through the administrative issues than the physical issues? Talk about pain! :-D

I was surprised to hear about your pharmacy ordeal. It's gotten a lot better now here in the city for 24 hr service. Also surprised that Sloan didn't give you some stuff for at least that evening.
Again, our best wishes and prayers for you and Beth.
Mark
I am glad it went well and keeping my fingers crossed this is a good omen for recovery.
Glad the surgery went well. It's good that she was able to be discharged so quickly- much better than not being in good enough condition to leave! But someone goofed if you were discharged at 9pm. One, I'd never do that, nor would our hospital- bad publicity. Two, you should have been given medications BEFORE you left, not just prescriptions.
Write a letter to the hospital. Things like that simply should not happen, if they really care about being a center of excellence.
Praying for a quick recovery for Beth and good results!

They were about to move on when they heard the remote door "beep" and came back to ask me a bunch of questions about it.
"Is this an Outback?"
"How is it different?"
"Do you like it?"
"Beautiful car!"
It was so worth the 5 minutes of my time.
Ken
Cheers Pat.

This morning it happened again. I was about to step out of my car when there was someone from my company waiting outside the drivers door with a smile.
"Is that the new Subaru Legacy?"
This person was even more knowledgable. He was asking why Subaru won't turbo the H6. Good question, I answered. He was surprised to learn that the 2.5 badge on my car was for a 4-cylinder.
He told me he's considering getting one. I mentioned the OB, but he told me he wasn't into all that extra plastic cladding and raised suspension.
Ken
Thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

Might require registration. The Forester is towards the end because their intro was on the 2nd day.

I thought it would look :shades: with tinted windows, but I think there's a short circuit in the wiring because even those don't work now.
It took 6 tries just to start this morning.
I tried to get the dealer to take it back but they said no, it's hard enough for them to find buyers as it is.
Sticker was $42,000 but it came with a $12,000 rebate and I haggled down to $26 grand. At least it's still worth about $18 grand on the used car market. Depreciation ain't a strong point.
Power is usually adequate but it had trouble making it up my steep driveway.
I traded in my Forester because I really wasn't that happy with it. In 7 years it only went to the dealer once, and I like visiting dealers. So it had to go.
Next I think I'll trade the Miata in for a Solistice when those come out.

so.. congrats?

where's the fun in that!

Sorry, but the giveaway was you buying a Ford.
I thought about doing an elaborate Photochop but had no time.

When does racing season start and what are you racing this year?
DaveM
Bob
Exceptionally pleased to see you back on these boards, Paisan. I have to admit to contemplating scanning the death notices in the New York Times, convinced that the SVX had done you in!
Or how can we be sure its not the ghost of Mike?
Cheers

What are you racing now? Do you still have your 'L' or did you get a new project over the winter?

Hope you are not one of those getting flooded out. I remember you being in the Washiongtonville area and saw the photos this morning. Hope all is OK.

Look out for debris on the road, it's been a mess here. Winds on top of heavy rains.

As for racing, the Impreza L is still the race car, not much done on it lately it does need a few items before I can race it. Selling the SVX, and my dad's 97 Legacy, keeping the 94 Turbo Leg as daily driver and getting an Armada to tow the race car.
AZP has been keeping us very busy on the weekends, and did VIR back in feb. This coming saturday I'll be at Limerock. First real race for me will be with EMRA at Beave Run near Pittsburgh first Saturday in June!

The ravine edge held, but as luck would have it, the rain and wind took out two trees, one of which, of course, landed on my fence! So I ended up spending a good part of Sunday, chain saw in hand, cutting the big one up into bite sized chunks, and rolling them off the side. In the rain. Alone.... Think I was sufferning hypothermia by early evening.
Remind me why I wanted to be a homeowner?

At the very least, the trench you dug accomplished it's purpose of protecting the ravine edge.

Ok... here's the deal. I found out that my wife's OB wagon would buyout $17,700 w/o including this month's payment. She really wants the Tribeca, and I'm about to cut our son's legs (no room in the OB). I was offered $16k at a dealer and the owner wouldn't budge. So, if I wait and not use the OB as much, I may be able to have him honor the $16k by May but of course the OB continues to depreciate so that's not something I'd count on. If I buyout on it, I'll still lose money cause I probably won't sell the car close to the buyout price. I thought the lease was for 36 months but after reviewing the contract, it read 39 months. I'd have to wait till March '06 to walk? I doubt I'll make any profit to put as down payment for the Tribeca next year.
So, should I try another dealer to see who gives more (if possible), or should I try to walk away from the lease? IF I do, how do I do that? There's a place named www.swapalease.com but I'm not sure how it works. Does anyone recommend that site?
So, my Saturday was almost a washout, just like the day... except that my Tribeca order is tentative until I come up with an answer by this wknd.
Probably the last time I'd do a lease.... sheesh...
As always, your help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Bob

Bummer about that fence. Seems like our very own Fence will suffer some damage as a few people put deposits down on Tribecas (at least two so far).
