I presume it's all in the attic or the furnace is in a utility room or the garage and the duct work in the attic?

Sorry to burst the bubble, but that honor goes to Valdez, Alaska, just like it does every other year.... Take a look at this article - one storm in December just about equaled Baltimore's total for the year so far. Of course, snowfall in Valdez is no news like it is in Baltimore!
I have never been down to Valdez, but I would love to make it down there during the winter some time just to see all that snow piled up. It is far enough south (and along the ocean) that it experiences some melting episodes during the winter, but folks have told me that their streets are more like tunnels by the time Spring rolls around.
From that referenced article, "He was around for Valdez's record snowfall winter, 1989-90, when the city got 561 inches (almost 47 feet). The average is closer to 330."
330" as average! :surprise:
My roof looks ok, not too much ice, so I think the house will be fine.
I assume you mean your house and not Russia :P
I remember seeing some normal looking front doors, opening right up onto the snowy front yards. Then you realize it's a two story house and you're not looking at the first floor.
And just so it's not misconstrued ... let me go on record as saying every day feels like Valentine's Day with this guy ... (maybe it's my perspective after the 26 years spent with the first husband ....hmmmm)
We all went to NYC's Chinatown to celebrate Chinese New Year. 14 families - a mix of adopted like us, and traditional families from the local Chinese language school that we some of us attend. About 1.5 hours by train from where we live to Grand Central, then the subway to the southern tip of Manhattan. A huge dinner, a parade & plenty of shopping. What an incredible day!
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
Is that some sort of euphemism? :surprise:

My wife has wanted a dutch oven for a long, long while. Maybe I will get the oven in a couple months.... ? I don't want to lavish her with gifts or anything, she might make something of it and begin to develop expectations of me. :P
I did put a trailer hitch on the car Saturday night. If nothing else, that means I will at least have a place to ride the next time we take a long trip.
he was off yesterday ... last night we went to a local Irish-themed pub and had dinner .. so I asked if it was our Valentine's Day dinner ... he said ... "told you, it's not a real holiday" ... LOL
at any rate .. it was very enjoyable ...
Wait... that's pretty much my advice on any place that serves beer!

Now, most anywhere else, that's not a big deal... But, for some reason, Newcastle at this place is like the nectar of the gods... Maybe it's the tap system, the glasses, the temperature.... or, all of it together.. Newcastle isn't even my favorite.. but, when I take that first drink, a feeling of happiness just descends upon me...
Now, if the place was non-smoking, I'd quit my job, sell the house, and rent one of those cheap crappy apartments, next door... :surprise:

I've been shopping around for a '07/'08 Legacy CPO for her, but they are still running north of $17k for a low mileage car. Yesterday she called me and asked about an Impreza sedan. Being that the Camry was the smallest car that she had ever owned, I was surprised by the question, but she drove a new '10 and liked it. So right now she's in final negotiations with the Fredricksburg dealer. For not that much more than the price of used, she gets to go new. Plus she gets added safety (VDC/VTD) with the new car that she wouldn't have with used.

As Wes said, all quiet now.
The powers that be have been alerted to watch for other reports.

Forester is a Top Pick, too.
Subaru is listed dozens of times and always in a positive light.

I have mixed feelings about that. I don't want whiplash, of course, but the new headrests are intrusive and may even be uncomfortable for some folks (not me, but I've heard others complain).
It's like Volvo - great seats, wonderful headrests, but the darn things are so big they limit visibility. That could make them less safe, ironically.
