if you were Brett Farve, they'd probably try to fix you.

Well, I guess I had better start philandering, then maybe I'll have a chance!

Or, was that not what you meant? ;)

    I think you misunderstood.
I wouldn't want my wife to have me "fixed" for philandering.

Well guys it's been a while since I checked in here.Just wanted to let you know it is officially the cold season. I had the upholstery out on the weekend to do the annual plastic covering on the floor.

Thought I would have a hard time missing my beloved Titan, but I have to tell you I am absolutely loving The Mazda3 SportGt. Thing goes like a scared rabbit and the roadholding is amazing, totally composed, and smooth and quiet to boot.

Hope everyone is well and life is good.

    Cheers Pat.

Have a wonderful time Bob and family. We haven't been to a wedding for a while. We are in that age gap that all our friends and similar aged cousins have already married but friends' kids (and our own) are too young.

Good Luck! Hope you can let her go!

Congrats on passing another milestone in life!

Bob, I hope all went well this weekend for you and the family.

Thank you all. The wedding was great. There was some serious dancin' going on at the reception! I'm so happy for the new couple. Juice was there.

Yep, I had to represent the Crew. :shades:

    Funny/car related observations:

Bob has a cousin who looks just like Lee Iacocca.

The father of the groom looks kinda like Dieter Zetsche.

Bob did not wear his helmet! :D

It was really fun and exhiIarating. I did really well according to my instructor, Saturday morning when I started, I had an instructor I was not pleased with at all. He was worried that my hand moved 2 inches on the sterring wheel as opposed to my line, braking, etc. He had to leave when his son crashed his Mini in a session. His replacement was amazing, giving me advice almost immediately, working through the track turn by turn (14 of them), braking points, lines, etc. A real mensch and very encouraging. He said that by my last session, I knew all 14 turns and their lines. He also brought his portable helmet mikes so I could hear him clearly.

BTW, can you see the complete photo? I only see half because the right side of the screen is taken up with this
    image
Can that be moved somewhere else? Let me know, Bob. Mods, help me here...
  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
I only see half the image too.

Your photos are too big for this forum... You either have to re-size them, or if you upload them to your CarSpace, and then link them here, they will automatically be re-sized to fit...

Just checking in, scanning some recent messages. Good to see so many familiar names still part of the crew (and all these stories about kids in high school, college, and marriage makes me feel even older than I already do -- how time flies). Everything is going well here. No Subarus in the stable, but I have a nice wad of Subaru bucks and we'll be coming back to the fold next time around for sure (a couple rounds with Honda/Acura has just made me appreciate Subaru even more).

    Take care,
    Craig

Hey Craig, good to hear from you.
  • tsytsy Member Posts: 1,551
Hey, I don't have any "reply" buttons on my screen. :confuse:

Anyway, cool pics Serge. Looks like fun. I can't wait until things dry out here and I can do the same!

Craig- hope all is well? I'm in the same boat- I have a Subie-less garage right now. But a fun Garage none-the-less!

I did manage to pick up a Miata!!!
I found a 2001 with reasonable mileage in good mechanical shape and fair cosmetic shape and got a good deal! I am slowly planning my conversion to a mostly track machine over this winter- should be a fun project with my boys! It's going to be a while before things dry out enough here in Seattle to play with it though. :(

    Thanks Juice.

Yup- I also bought Keith Tanner's book on Miatas. I'll post pics the next time we have a sunny day! (umm, probably in 6 months)

I didn't see reply buttons either for a couple of days, but they seem to be back now.
Tom, it was definitely fun. I'm looking into putting max performance summer tires on my 1998 2.5RS goldies (16X7) and taking along a set of Hawk HT10s just for the track. Only problem is I have no clue how to do brake work; I may have to take my mechanic along!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Brakes aren't hard, I was able to figure them out. Just take your time, and only work on one side at a time (the other can serve as a reference).
  • lucien2lucien2 Member Posts: 2,984
and also don't resort to using a torch to heat a seized caliper bolt an hour after you tried to loosen it with WD40. Trust me.

    Must've been quite a show!

    1) When I try to edit my own writing prior to posting, I cannot move the cursor to the middle of the text without a second dialog box opening in the middle. I have to hit the web screen back button to restore what I have written, and then try to edit it again. (Bad description - maybe I'll send someone at Edmunds a screen shot.)

    2) I scrolled back to last month, and the pictures that were visible - linked to CarSpace - are not visible. Just a tag line to visit Carspace for more photos.

    3) Where is CarSpace? I cannot find it. No link on the page.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 267,627
CarSpace went away with the new re-design.

If you are still using IE6 as your browser, you'll have to update to IE8 (ask me how I know...lol).

Went away? Then our pictures went with it.... So you have to find another place to host/link if you want to embed a photo, and all previous posts lost their images. Cost saving, eh?

    I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.13
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Maybe I'll get used to it, but the screen is so bright, nearly all white now. I'll turn down the brightness on my monitor.
  • xwesxxwesx Member Posts: 17,728
Ugh... yes. That is the one awful part about the upgrade. There absolutely must be some sort of shading - both to spare our eyes and to delineate posts.

Interesting, I'm seeing distinct shades of gray on the left and right sides of the forum text and other places. I have a few eye issues and it's easier on my eyes that the last flavor was.

A couple of months ago I got a 28" monitor and the reviewers said it was way too bright out of the box. So before I even hit the net, I had turned it down by almost 50%. Maybe that's part of it.

I'm still using a 19" next to the 28" and it's not blinding either though.
  • fibber2fibber2 Member Posts: 3,786
So again, no more CarSpace means find another way to link to pictures and no recovery for the pictures in previous post?

The Subaru Chat is now officially gone?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Right, CarSpace is gone so any links to it will be broken. You'll have to use Flickr or a similar site to host photos on.

And the chats are gone too. (Hi Rob!).

Well, we could always open up an AIM chat room at some random time... say like on a Thursday evening :P

I'm seeing distinct shades of gray on the left and right sides of the forum text and other places.

Yes, the border is a light grey, but within the posts themselves there is no shading and, therefore, very little delineation between posts, save for a very thin grey line. In my opinion, it is somewhat hard on the eyes and more cumbersome to navigate because the message headers bleed into the messages.

I see a very light gray on my screen, even when dimmed.
