You don't have to eject the disk; you can see the version on one of the setup screens. I am not sure but I think it was dated November 2004. I will check for sure tonight and let you know.

They all pretty much get their data from the same places and even the most current maps usually have lots of problems. About all you can hope for is a way to report the problems and that Honda charges a reasonable fee for map upgrades. The BMW (older) CD sets were under $200 for the whole US. Garmin maps can cost $75-150 to upgrade. Some car NAV DVDs can cost $300 or more to upgrade.
I have been told, that folks with DVD burners have been able to make archival backup copies of the NAV DVDs. You know, run the copy in the car while the real disc stays safe at home. Now sharing copies with your buddy would be against the law, so don't do that

One looks just as good as the other IMO, but it would surely be a bad idea to swap with an older model and could hurt resale value, too
I put euro (or was in Japan?) red over clear OEM lights on my 'vette and replaced my USA red over amber lights on my BMW with red over clear (with amber bulbs) and my S2000 side amber marker lights w/JDM clears. All with genuine OEM parts. I saved the old ones so I could put it back if I wanted to.

1.Is there anything really compelling about the EX vs the LX package? Any LX owners wishing they'd bought the EX, or vice-versa?
2. I do a lot of freeway commuting. I'd like a ride that is fairly quiet and doesn't jangle the nerves when I'm stuck in traffic for two hours. Are you satified with this aspect of the Accord?
3. I'm big: 6 feet, 270 lbs. The seat seems a touch narrow for me, though not uncomfortable. It's hard to know from a brief testdrive how I'll feel about spending 100,000 miles in that seat. Anybody have any insights?
Your responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Do any of you have any of have any complaints about your windshield?
I just bought a 2005 Accord V6 EX sedan. I really like the car except for one huge problem - the windshield. There are four problems.
First, while driving the car and looking through the passenger side of the front windshield, everything is distorted. This distortion is more noticeable when it is sunny. It is also very noticeable while making a right turn. There are these vertical distortion lines that cause a rippling/wavy effect that is sometimes disorienting. I consider this a potentially dangerous problem.
Second, there is a very prominent "wave of distortion" along the bottom inch or so of the window. This distortion is right above the black "checkerboard" that borders the windshield. This defect is not as dangerous as it is an area not frequently looked through.
Third, at night while looking out the far right of the windshield (from about last foot from the right border all the way to the right border) lights are duplicated - two headlights become four etc. This defect like defect one is disorienting and potentially dangerous.
Forth, even looking straight ahead things don't look quite right. I have 20/20 and it reminds me of looking through someone's mild prescription glasses. This problem like #2 is more of an annoyance than a danger.
Is this just my car or does anyone else notice these problems?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated. I've called my dealer (they’re about an hour away) the day after I bought it, but the manager there keeps pushing me off - telling me that I have to wait for the factor rep etc. I've also been told that some distortion is normal, but this does not seem to be normal or acceptable. I've lived with this windshield for 10 days now.
Any advice?
I am biased, but I love my Accord whether I'm on the highway or in heavy traffic. Try to drive it in the conditions that you will be using it and make sure it's acceptable.
It's hard for us to comment on the Accord's long-term seat comfort for you. Both myself and my husband are very comfortable in the Accord but that doesn't really do you any good if you are miserable in it. Again, just take a long test-drive and make sure it's comfortable. You may want to drive an LX/EX with the manual seat and then drive a LX V6 or EX-L to see if the 8-way power seat makes it comfortable enough to justify the extra $$$$.
To check the injectors (from 89 Service Manual):
"Remove the the coupler of the injector. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the injector. It should be 1.5-2.5 Ohms."
If the resistance is out of range, you have a bad injector.
If it's in range, you may have a loose/broken/poor connection wire between the injector and the resistor OR between the resistor and the ECU.
I would do the resistor testing next.
Oh man, those wires at the injectors look so fragile.
Tapping? Sounded like your have a loose connector.
Good luck.
One suggestion for those who feel the brakes grabby, if you pump the brakes while braking, you shouldn't.
Any thoughts? ">
My car was newly purchased. It only had like 3 miles on the odometer. The windshield has Honda markings. I’m driving down to the dealership this morning to give them a hard time about the distortion. Do you think I may have problems with a replacement? I’m thinking about demanding they take this car back and give me a new one. I’ve heard stories that replacements are never installed right (leaks, rust, rattles etc after a couple of years).
I’m also still curious. Does anyone else notice distortion in his or her windshield? Is my car the only one to have the problem?
However, before you meet with the regional rep, you might sit in a few Accords (with seat adjusted to the same driving position) to compare distortion areas, which the regional rep would probably suggest anyway. If your distortion areas are exclusive, you have a strong case imo. If not, your specific driving position to glass relationship suggests other options.
The car idles rough, and when the car stops at a Stop sign the RPM drops to below 3,000 while the engine splutters.
I have duplicated the same scenario while the car is Parked and its engine on -
whenever I move the steering wheel in any direction the engine stalls/splutters and wants to die, but it comes back to its original RPM as soon as the movement of steering wheel has stopped.
It also splutters whenever I move the gear, P to R, P to D, D to R, D to P, R to P, R to D, but D4 to other D's the engine goes not stall, nor does its RPM drop. I have also noticed a ticking noise coming from the ignition switch area whenever I switch gears and the stalling symtpoms occur.
The spluttering symptoms has been occuring for the last 2-months, and the ignition switch has not been replaced for the recall.
I also have the "check engine light" that came on. Honda of San Francisico diagnoised the codes as P1166 and P1167, both related to Oxygen senor for heating system.
Honda of San Francisco said the OS were good, but the ECU may have the problem, which they were not sure of, and stated that it will cost additional $386.00 to check the ECU system, eventhough, I found out later that the ECU is covered under the 8/80,000 miles warranty. I took back my car($120.00 for OS check) after the service advisor started giving me a turnaround story, fees there and potential fee of $386.00 without 100% knowledge of what the symptoms were. So I am driving around with the check engine light which I need to resolve, along with the ignition switch recall, and the engine stalling during stops, and when the car is parked with steering column moving and during gear changes.
Any recomendations with dealers in the Bay area? Or suggestions what the problems might be related too?
I appreciate any response, thank you.
Did you ever get your drivers door fixed. I have a 1990 Accord exi and I just came across the same problem.
Thanks in advance for your reply
We love our new 4-cyl Accord. It seems quiet enough for us, but we have been used to noisy cars.
We rented a 4-cyl camry a year ago, and it seemed to have lots of power.
In general, I think most people would say the Hondas are nice cars to drive and the Camry's are nice cars to ride in.
The only bad thing about Toyotas is how the exhaust pipe hangs so low. Look at it when you drive behind one. It's pretty ugly.
I was a dealership this morning. I sat in the showroom Accords and drove couple of other Accords on the lot. I didn’t notice any distortion in the cars in the showroom, but it could have been because they were in the shade.
Both of the cars I drove had some distortion in the windshield, but to a lesser degree than my car. With one it was about half as bad as my cars. And with the other one I could barely even notice the distortion. In fact, I don’t think I would have noticed it unless I knew what to look for. My windshield and the one with the more noticable distortion at the dealership both had the same markings – “Honda Lamisafe Tech” The windshield with almost no distortion was on an LX and had different markings – “Honda PPG Solargreen Duplate Laminatec”.
The service manager said that he could not make the decision to replace my windshield and that I would need to meet with the Dealer Rep. I’m meeting with the Regional Rep Tuesday morning. Hopefully, she will be helpful.
As for the rest of your post, I have no input. The check engine light should have given the dealer the info they needed for a repair, but it's interesting the identified problem won't be the fix, and that the dealer won't invoke the warranty. If you want to drive 120 miles, my dealer, Carmichael Honda Superstore in Citrus Heights, CA, hasn't blown a repair (for me or anyone I know) yet. Quirky electrical problems are the worst, but I wonder if it isn't some kind of vacuum issue. Let us know the fix. I am especially interested since I have the same car with the 4cyl.
The Accord does make a bit more tire noise than I'd like on some road surfaces, but I wouldn't call the noise "unacceptable" at all. On balance, the Accord was better than either the Camry or the Mazda 6i--those were the cars I was considering at the time.......Richard
BuY the way my first new car had frint disc braks, an AM radio with reverb, a 4-speed and cost $3,500 with monthly paymewnts of !113.50 for 36 months. It was a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442.
Again ,my Honda brakes are not touchy! If yours are I would say your car has a problem!

MPG was 28 on last tank of mixed driving. I am going to tint the back windows soon. Like that look plus will keep the dark interior cool. Wanted V6 but couldn't afford extra $.
I enjoy these discussions on a daily basis. (I'm a car nut) I hope to contribute more as the miles rack up.
I'm 6' and 180 and that's why I say you should go for it if you are comfortable in the seat. For me, this is more comfortable than the Camry and my S60. Good luck!
I have a 2004 Accord LX which has a problem with the interior weatherstripping (the one inside that goes around the entire area of the door). It was coming off and the dealer attempted to repair it four times unsuccessfully. It is still under the CA lemon law. Now, on the fourth attempt, they glued part of the weatherstrip and the strip is not even properly mounted so that the strip is actually unattached in the lower area by the door jamb. I'm worried about water intrusion, noise and rattles coming from the Any thoughts. Does the BBB third party work?
I have a 2001 Accord Coupe Ex V6 (bought new in July 2001) that has had the tranny replaced twice. Original trans failed at 33k miles (2.5 months ago). Replaced under 2002 extended warranty (issued by Honda). A week later had to replace the trans again due to defect (was leaking fluid). So finally have my car back and now I noticed downshifts are loud and felt (in steering and seat) and the traction control is intermittent at best. Before any work ever took place the traction control kicked in at all fast acceleration (no tire spinning) or slipping (rain etc). Now it works 50% of the time. The car just clicked 34k miles on it. I'm going to have the dealer look everything over my next oil change. The car has had all service done according to scheduled maintenance at the dealer, even a suggested tranny flush a few months before the first tranny quit.
So finally - my question – “ how many of you have had this happen?” and “has your tranny replacement lasted?” I don’t qualify for an extended warranty at this point and have to make a decision as to what to do with this car.
I would classify my driving style as moderate. I don’t drive it like it’s stolen. Aggressive when I have to be (you fellow NJ drivers know what I am talking about).
Before all of this happened I toyed with the idea of a new Accord. Turns out I don’t fit (too tall) my right leg gets caught between the steering wheel and the center console. My head also rubs into the roof. No 05 Accord for me. I did fit in a Civic Si but not a coupe. Dealer tried to talk me into an element. No thanks!
Appreciate any info/feedback you can give me about the tranny.
problem cause it idles so low know that it won't start it has been in the shop 5 times for the same problem and it still does the same thing over and over again....
My rear passenger door lock actuator is making the infamous "chiiing" sound. It has been going on for about 2 months and now that the weather is nice, I decided its time to fix it!
I have a 97 Accord EX
My questions are the following: Is the rear passenger actuator the same as the front passenger actuator? (There is an ebay auction going on for the front one and if it fits, I want it!)
Which actuators actually fit? Does it have to be a Honda Acccord actuator or can it be a generic one? (seen some on websites)
Is there any chance that the current actuator is fixable? If I open it and check what the problem seems to be?
Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know how to replace the Cabin Pollen Filter in a 2002 Accord SE/4Cyl? The owners manual is very vague.
Thanks!

My 2000 Accord LX 4 cyls, recently the MPG dropped from 30 to 24. Going to the mechanical shop for inspection, found out the O2 sensor has no out-put signal to feed into computer chips. After installing another new one, the mechnics still can not detect any signal from this brand new O2 sensor. I do not think the brand new sensor is faulty too! The mechanics just gave up for trouble shooting. Anybody can give me suggestions for the futher inspection and trouble shooting?
