The dealership's posted price on their web site is $19,991. The van has a clean carfax history with 1 owner, but it was an ex-rental van.
I've never bought a used vehicle before, much less an ex-rental. I'm kind of surprised it already has 41k miles after only about 1 year 4 months from when it was originally purchased new, but I guess rentals accumulate a lot of mileage on them. The certified used designation is a bit re-assuring, but not sure how much it really means or if it's just a marketing gimmick.
I was originally looking at buying a new 2011 Sienna LE 8 passenger, but hate the 8th mini seat in the new model. Need to be able to install 3 child car seats in the 2nd row and can't do that with the mini seat. So then I started looking at an older Sienna 8 passenger options.
Is $19,991 a fair price or is this inflated too high? Realistically, how much lower could I negotiate on this van? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
My experience, rental vehicles got rode hard and put away wet. Regardless of how well maintained, they were driven by people that didn't really care at the end of the day.
Is this an AWD? If so, do you really need an AWD? Don't they have the run flat tires a lot of owners complain about? Quick wear out and high cost to replace.
Let compare notes........
I was debating to get the Entertainment package or get the DVD installed separately for a lot cheaper. Now I am glad I made that decision based on what I need, even it's way over price.
The nice thing is it's also covered by toyota warranty. I am thinking to get the 7yr or 8yr warranty. This thing will be also covered by that. Those expensive electronics can break down anytime after 3 years, some additional warranty might be useful.
Thanks'
Rentals are driven by many people and not particularly cared for (since they know they don't own it).
41k miles is a lot, though at least it's fairly new.
To be honest I'm surprised they certified a rental at all.
How do you think about this deal?

Love the car so far but steering feel is a little light and vague compared to my Acura MDX. The SE probably has better feel but ride would have been too bumpy for my wife (we also wanted full leather heated seats). Love the roominess, kids can no longer kick my seat back while I'm driving. Also love the power hatch and sliding doors. No longer need to have a handful of road salt closing the rear hatch in the winter. Still learning the Nav system - good functionality but touch screen is not as responsive as my Garmin or my MDX. Getting used to not being able to program it while driving. MDX lets you do anything you want when the car is moving. I know the Sienna is not the same class as the MDX but we bought the MDX for about the same price 5 years ago.
Smart Key system is a love-hate relationship. Love being able to open any door without having to hit unlock. Hate that there is no convenient high-visibility place to put the key when you are driving. Little draw on the left is good but makes noise when you hit a bump. Center console is high visibility but slides around when you turn. Maybe I'm too old for Smart Keys :-)
Paid $980 for 7/75 extended warranty from the dealer with no deductible. Can probably do better with the Kansas dealer by about $150. Who knows? Can cancel this one within 30 days before the "restocking" fee kicks in.
BTW: Inquired at 3 dealerships about special ordering Blizzard Pearl on XLE. First one said we'll email you (never did). Second one said June's production order is filled - call us back when you're ready to buy. Third one (where we bought ours) said it's not on their production order sheet for XLE so it's not possible.
the Mystic Teal color, but on the brochure there is none like that and we
see one similar South Pacific Pearl, are they both same?? When searching
for inventory on dealer website all I can find is South Pacific Pearl, on one
of the websites I got same color code same(SOUTH PACIFIC PEARL Mystic Teal Mica 785 ) for both them.
Would be great if some one can clarify that these are same colors......
The stock # was 151030.
MSRP: 36,779
Paid: 33,400 (plus TTL).

Anyone getting substantially better terms?
I think the highest quote I got was $414 down and $414/35 months...comes to be about $2,000 more over the term.
The internet sales manager's initials are EZ.
Buyer's initials are JM, though it may be under her hubby's name.
Bought it end of May.
$32527 with floor mat and wheel lock. (Did not ask for but included in the deal)
Dest. charge included.
Fee not included: T T and Process fee $100.
They tried to sell me 7/100 ext warr for $1500, cross bar $299, mudguard $349 (What a joke).
I bought the cross bar $140 and mudguard $79 from the parts dept. and installed them myself in less then hour.
I am not sure if this is near you but some have used fitzmall.com
Steering wheel - i agree - too light.
Nav - I think it's awesome since we only had Tomtom prior to this. I like that it gives the address and phone number of the destination and can use voice command to contact.
Smart Key system - i usually keep it in my purse nowadays but i guess a place for my husband to put it would be nice. he just put it in one of the cupholders and just use the extra on the dash for his drink. I use the center console to for my phone and it does slide so I am thinking of buying a non-skid mat for the center console.
Blizzard Pearl on XLE - I still have to see someone who successfully got that combination since it specifically says on the brochure that its available on Limited models only. Truecar and Edmunds will only bring up Blizzard Pearl as a color option if you chose a Limited trim.
do i have the wrong interpretation?
The update is clear here. Other people were dealing with the wrong dealership. Here is who you need to be going through. http://midwesttoyotasuperstore.com/
Without naming names you need to ask for the Special Finance Manager. Initials are JJ. Make sure you get in writing that if you don't use the policy over the term you will get a full refund..... They will resist, but demand it and it can be done.

I am not going back to this dealer...he is not ready to negotiate anyway!
THough I was confused that the toyota website says they have a 2.7 engine but the delaer said they don't get it in this region. THat would make the price even cheaper.
Can anyone confirm if they have seen to purchased 2011 LE 2.7 Engine in the philly/NJ or DE region?
:confuse:
including the CX limited convenience package, the MSRP is 45,485 and the invoice
is 40,999, I might getting 41,500 plus tax, tags and processing fee still negotiating...
Is this a good deal?? and also is it worth waiting 3-4weeks for the color we
want(actually there is none available right now any decent color)???
Please advise.....?? It is very tough to deal with these dealers... I am not sure
why they make it so hard to buy a car/van...
ontop of this some of the best priced zag dealers add on floor mats-399, toyoguard extras 499 to add an extra 900 to final price and they say this is non negotiable.
Does anyone know if this is really true?? I already got a great 1st price from the dealer but then they add this junk to it??
Chuck
I'm looking for a V6 LE model and so far the best quote I've got is $26,995 (i.e. $27K) + Tax & License. The issue with that is there is only one car left, black color, which I am not interested in. Then next best quote I got was directly 1K more, $27,965, with few more color options.
I think I'll wait till I get the color I want for a price below $27K.
Please share your recent buying/window shopping experience.
Thx.
Sounds like you're going to get a sweet deal as well.
I will make sure to get in writing the full refund if the policy is not used during its entire term.
Thanks!
