Yes, no 6 CD changer. I originally ordered a car with neither Nav or DVD but the dealer called and said they had one coming in with them and would I be interested. Since I was getting a decent discount I figured why not. I still can't figure out how to use it.
I have it in my Chrysler T&C limited and enjoy it since my wife drive most of the time in the minivan and i am always the passenger. $40,000 for the XLE limited AWD with NAV and DVD and no power passenger seat seems lame.
I'm still waiting for a XLE with DVD package.

So, your price of 35447 gives them about $1200 profit depending on what the cost of the 'FF' package is since I cannot locate that package's pricing. Even at $1200 profit given the somewhat tight supply of these new vans, isn't too bad. If the dealerships in my area would do that kind of deal, I might just trade in my Odyssey and get the 2004 Sienna.
The Toyota Extra Care contract price you listed is about $100 cheaper than ww.toyotawarranty.com lists for that same contract.
Good luck with your purchase!

Sienna 2004 - LE -7 pass model with BI option
Dealer's price: $24500 + tax/doc (about $820 above Invoice price)
I have a make a decision by tomorrow. I need help from you folks.
Is it a good price? or Did any of you folks got a better deal?
Thanks in advance

Maybe some CA people will respond.
Just wanted to remind you the dealer will be making more than $820 because of the 'holdback' amount that toyota will pay that dealership. The amount of holdback for that van is $485. Just keep that in mind when making your decisions. That means they're really making $1305 on that van.
Whether that amount of profit is ok, depends on the market in your area and how comfortable you are with the purchase process at that dealership.
I like, if I can, to max the dealer profit at $500, but market conditions can make that an impossible dream at times.
When we purchased an Avalon in Dec 2002 I was able to hold the dealership to a $500 profit margin (Invoice - dealer hold back + destination + TDA (Toyota Advertising)+ 500 profit. But that car was available in a lot of places so there was not a problem walking away from any dealership that would not deal with my requirements.
Good luck, Robert.
I once bought a car in late December thinking I was being clever hitting the dealer before the end of the year so they'd cut me some slack hitting the sales quota. The friendly salesperson told me after delivery that the factory quota for December sales that year didn't end until Jan. 5.
I don't think you can "beat" dealers at their own game, but you have the right idea Robert.
Steve, Host
Anyone getting any good deals in the Chicagoland area? I am being told the lead time is about 8 weeks and need the van mid August.
Thanks
Robert: Does the invoice price given Edmund site include the TDA? If no, what would be the value for TDA in California.
If TDA == dealer hold back, then the dealer asks $800 for his profit..
I got one more day to make the deal -)
If anyone paid less than 24500 for LE with BI option, please let me know
Once again, thanks for all

Holdback is an amount that toyota pays directly to the dealership. I've heard stories of some dealerships charging the customer twice for this (once by leaving in the price of the car and then charging it again as a 'charge to be paid by the purchaser'). You should never be directly charged for the second instance of holdback. I've always reduce the invoice price of the car by the holdback amount since that is the true (or more close to being true) cost of the car to the dealership. Assuming, that the are no special spiffs to the dealership or other incentives unknown to the buying public.
I live in No. CA and all of the dealerships I've purchased Toyotas from here seem to always pass along the advertising cost (TDA) to the buyer. You might be able to not pay the TDA (shown on the dealer's invoice) but I've not been successful in getting that removed.
The Emdunds TMV pricing is a guess at what the market pricing pressures for a given area will result in a 'real world' price for that car. The Invoice price listed on Edmunds is the real dealership invoice price for the car, but you really should subtract the 'holdback' amount since it is nearly a 100% chance that the dealership will get this money from Toyota causing their true cost to be the invoice price minus the holdback (as well as any additional spiffs or incentives).

I've found TDA costs to be between $400 and $550 depending on the car. Since my TDA cost is a guess at $550 and I don't know if the dealership will get any additional kickbacks from Toyota, I have to assume the baseline profit on this van for that dealership is $24500 - $23749 = $751.
Given that the van is in a tight supply condition (at least for now) this price may not be too bad. It all depends on what you're comfortable with paying and how well you believe the dealership is treating you and how hard they are to haggle with on price.
Since the MSRP for this van is 24260 (not including anything else), at least you're getting the van for less than MSRP when you account for all of the other items (TDA, BI packet, Destination). The Edmunds TMV for that van in my area of CA goes for over $26k.
Depending on where you live, you need to add the appropriate amount for sales tax, license fees, (CA has a tire disposal fee of $1 per tire) and probably some sort of doc prep fee ($30 to $50) depending on the dealership.
You might want to consider whether you want to purchase an extended warranty as well. You don't have to purchase it at the time you purchase your van. You might check out places like www.toyotawarranty.com and price what a toyota extra care contract would be (if you even want one). Knowing this before you meet the finance person in the dealership is a good thing!
I hope that helps. It's really what makes you feel comfortable with the purchase process and the value you get from your van.
Enjoy! Robert
Ken
Since I need it, I bought it for $24500 today..
Hi Shued, it is Sunnevale Toyota..
Thanks folks
=Senthil
Thanks for your response. I bought and took the Van. Looks great.. Of course, every dealer has only a few vans available. We opted for Beige that was available when we did test-drive. But it was gone the same day evening when we went there to accept the offer. Luckily, my wife liked the one with dark green that was available...
Looks like tight supply for Sienna. Since the price of Honda Odessy also is coming down - thanks to Toyota's pressure, I feel in a few months, Sienna dealers will offer better price.
Good luck.
Thanks

One of my friends is also looking for a deal.
Please give more info on the options what you got.
Who is the dealer?
Thanks

Please anyone looking for CE PKG# 3 IN 7 OR 8 PASS. especially in N.East Mkt. Do Not Waste Your time like I did all these weeks.
After requesting officer from Toyota's Regional Office at NY Auto Show Toyota will be replacing Sales Brochures with correct Information.
As per him , Toyota is and will Offer Pkg. # 3 But he did not know WHEN.
I think it will be anywhere from 4 to 6 months till it reaches any dealership. Again it is same practice like any manufacturer to take advantage of people who cannot and won't wait.
TO Those Who Still Want Same Stuff (vsc,traction-ctrl,side curtain air-bags) will have to consider LE with Pkg. # 7.
Does anyone know of Deals in NY, NJ, CT & more dealers in PA.
My email is public now OR it will be nice if you post on this board for others to know as well.
1% margin over Invoice,
then salesperson called me 3-4 times and when I finally called back, salesman spoke of USED Sienna van which really upset me.
When I told him about their offer of (1% over Invoice), he said that it is (1% above MSRP.)
To my surprise same salesman left message again and I never answered.
This is the same dealership where my friend bought 4Runner SUV and he was offered financing at 2.9% but somehow was tricked into signing papers at higher rate.
It took him couple of trips and some trouble to get Rate back at 2.9%.
Infact, before requesting quote, I visited their showroom and salesman did not even talk properly or seem interested talking business and I left within minutes.
I like to prepare a formula, hopefully any one can help me!
1. Factory invoice, $21833(Edmunds)+BI Option $1336(invoice)
2. Dealer's Profit, $463.38 (Item 1 + 2%)
3. TDA + Destination Charge, $510 + Document Fee + License Fee + CA Tire Disposal Fee
4. Tax --> I am not sure which item should be taxed? (Item 1+2+3 or just 1+2)
5. The Out of door Price => Item 1+2+3+4
Did I miss any thing? Could any one validate this for me?
Questions: Does Holdback Fee included in the Factory invoice? or in the Dealer's invoice? Sould I deduct the holdback fee from the invoice?
Thanks,
Thanks so much!

PS. I have finally reached Bennett Toyota and I am hoping to solidify a deal with them which makes both us and them happy!
I have a spreadsheet I use for this calculation and it goes something like this:
1) Dealer Wholesale price = Dealer invoice price(which includes holdback) - holdback + destination charge + price invoice price of options
2) Add these items (TDA if you can't get out of paying it) + allowed dealer profit amount (your figure here) + doc prep fee dealership charges
3) sum 1 and 2 to get the taxable amount of your purchase.
4) Add state sales tax amount, DMV fees, and CA tire fee (in california, $1 per tire)
5) add amounts from 3 and 4 to get your total purchase price.
I hope that helps
Robert
DO NOT GO THERE! This has got to be one of the WORST PLACES TO BUY A CAR. I spent hours there 3 years ago trying to buy the car I have now, and they tried everything under the sun to screw me.
I DO NOT SHOP AT LARGE AUTOMALLS ANYMORE for this reason. Or any dealer that has this type of set up.
Funny I was just there test driving the Highlander, I only went there cause I knew they had a variety in stock I can drive.
includes TDA? What is your total get out door
price? I live at Santa Clara, and suppose
I will have same tax rate with you.
I am not aware of TDA price. Here is what I Paid
LE with BI - 24500 +Tax+Doc fees = 26788. Total payment, I made.
The vehicle was availalble with the color we liked and we took it...
How much the offer you got..
Hope it helps

I just got a 2004 Sienna LE with option package 1 (trip computer, Homelink universal transmitter, power right-hand sliding door and rear seat audio) for $1,517 over invoice and $1,072 under MSRP including any dealer fees, shipping… (everything but state tax and the $3 Georgia lemon law fees that you pay on any vehicle in GA). Also, this price for the 2004 Sienna LE is $998 under the lowest price for a 2003 Odyssey EX that I could find after negotiating with about 13 Honda dealers over about 3 months.
Comparison.
Before I heard about the 2004 Sienna, I was determined to buy a 2003 Odyssey EX. Once I heard SOME information about the 2004 Sienna, I was undecided whether to get a 2003 Odyssey EX or 2004 Sienna. After researching, comparing, and test-driving the 2003 Ody EX and the Sienna LE, I preferred the 2004 Sienna LE to the 2003 Ody EX. The top reasons I prefer the 2004 Sienna LE to the ‘03 Ody EX are that the ’04 Sienna LE costs less and the ’04 Sienna has more room, both for cargo and for people. Specifically, the Sienna has more legroom for the front seat. During my two test drives of the 2003 Ody, I was trying to push the driver seat back just a little more for more legroom- the Sienna has it. The additional cargo room, not to mention the standard full roof rack will be important for long trips with my two kids and two German Shepherd Dogs. Other advantages I found with the 2004 Sienna LE over the ’03 Ody EX are: better gas mileage, lower insurance rates, higher payload capacity, power second row windows, 60/40 3rd row seat, telescopic steering wheel, tire inflation/ pressure monitor, roof rack (standard), tighter turning circle, heated exterior mirror (standard), conversation mirror, and more cup holders, compartments, and latches across the ’04 Sienna LE than the ’03 Ody EX. And as far as noise goes, I believe the 2004 Sienna is amazingly quiet. And, it cost me about $1K less than a 2003 Ody EX.
Support for some of the ’04 Sienna’s amenities:
The 60/40 split 3rd row seat may not be important to some people. But we already put it into use, when my wife and I had our 2 kids and a lot of stuff in the van and wanted to take a 5th passenger. The stuff covered the cargo area and the 3rd row seats that were folded down. We just moved some of the stuff over, popped one of the seats up and were ready to go.
Power second row windows also may not be important to some people. But it is nice to get in Sienna after it has sat in the sun on a hot day, open the front AND 2nd row windows from the driver’s seat to let the hot air out, turn on the front and rear air conditioners from the driver’s seat and see how quickly it gets cool. And the 2nd row windows are huge. When you row them down as far as they’ll go, you let in a lot of air.
The 2004 Sienna also has an incredible amount of little niceties like cup holders and compartments everywhere. There is even a Tupperware-like, large, plastic container that locks in and slides out from under the front passenger seat. I don’t believe this is a reason to choose the Sienna over another van, but it is really nice to be anywhere in the van with something in your hand and not have to look twice to find somewhere to put it.
The conversation mirror is nice and much nicer than the ones you buy at Toys ‘R Us. We’ve bought two of those mirrors from Toys ‘R’ Us for our sedan, and they are not the same. The one in the 2004 Sienna is folded up and concealed in the top center of the van, where a garage door opener or sunglass holder might be on another vehicle. When you tap it to drop down, you get a large, concave mirror that really lets you see the back of the van. Certainly not a reason to choose the Sienna over another van, but it is nice to have.
Where I Got the van from: After negotiating with about 13 Honda Dealers and 13 Toyota Dealers within about 200 miles of Atlanta, GA, I bought the 2004 Sienna LE from Pitts Toyota in Dublin, GA. They gave me the best price, found the exact options and color I wanted, delivered it to my door on the day I asked them to, gave me a good demonstration of the vehicle and made the paperwork easy.
Classic Toyota in Milledgeville, GA. I had a bad experience with Classic. They e-mailed me that they would “make this [determining who to buy a van from] easy” for me- that they would sell the 2004 Sienna to me for $200 over invoice. After talking to them and believing they were serious, I stopped actively searching for a better deal. But the dealer from Classic Toyota said he had to find a vehicle before he could give me a price. He waited several days, said he found one and would need a deposit. When I said I needed the final price before I gave a deposit, he took at least another day, and then sent a price that was $1,500 over invoice, NOT $200 over the invoice listed on Edmunds.com and other web sites. When I asked where the discrepancy was between $200 and $1,500 over the invoice according to my #s, he asked if the invoice price I had seen included the “extras”- specifically, “Toyaguard” or something like that. I said I didn’t want any “extras”. The dealer from Classic said he couldn’t take them off. I said then we no longer had a deal. He said okay. By this time, they had wasted about a week of my time that I could have spent actively shopping with. Based on my experience with them, I would recommend NOT going to Classic Toyota in Milledgeville, GA.
Sandy Springs Toyota in Atlanta. I had read a negative post about them on Edmunds’ discussion board about them requiring a deposit and giving noncompetitive prices. I won’t go into details, but I agree.
Eddie Wiggins Toyota in Warner Robins. The dealer I worked with at Eddie Wiggins was very nice. But they took a couple months before they would even give me a price and when they did, it was much higher than other offers I had been given elsewhere. When I asked them to go lower, they said they would have to get back to me- which seemed to always be the case, they always had to get back to me, the next day, next week, and then the next day again. I would try Eddie Wiggins again, but would make it very clear up front WHEN I expected an offer from them or would ask to speak to a sales manager up front. They just seemed to really drag things out.
Dealers besides Pitts Toyota in Milledgeville that I thought were good:
World Toyota in Atlanta: They gave good offers up front and e-mailed a detailed price quote to include all costs, fees and taxes, with a picture of the type and color of vehicle they were offering the same day or within one day of the time I asked for an offer.
Carey Paul Honda in Snellville GA, Honda Carland in Roswell GA and Sunny King Honda in Oxford, AL had the best prices out of 13 dealers I contacted. They offered from $862 - $925 over invoice for a new '03 Ody EX (in the order they appear above). Sunny King even offered to deliver the van to me without me asking them to.
I did test drive the 04 Sienna, and I did experience the hestitation when you step on the gas that has been mentioned elsewhere on these boards. Has anyone found out if that ever goes away?
All help appreciated, thanks in advance - JK
I would like to get the XLE, but I don't need the leather package. Is there such option for XLE? My dealer told me that all XLE always come with leather package, is that true?
I live in Northern California, and I am thinking of offering the dealer $1,000 above invoice. Is this a realistic offer?
Thanks!
Sam

You can try Modesto and talk to the fleet manager or Florin Rd Toyota in Sacramento. I believe both will do $500 over invoice.
Also through carsdirect, I was connected with Maplewood Toyota and they have offered me a LE FWD 8-pass #7 for $27K. That represents $900 off sticker and $2300 over sticker.
I am not interested in the LE, but if the 8pass LE with #7 interests you, give them a call. They got a special allocation and are looking to sell.
