I've seen a couple of your posts on buying your auto. 2 quick questions:
- did you see what you wanted on their website or did Fitzmall search surrounding inventory for a "best match"
- I'm looking for a car for export and therefore want to buy with dealer tags and drive to the docks. Hence, I want to avoid sales tax. Did you get all the documents at the point of sale such as "Certificate of Title".
Thanks in advance
If only Maryland wasn't so far from central Texas.....8^(
Does anyone know of a similar type of dealership located a BIT further west?
One more question to tax you with. Years back I purchased a New Beetle Tdi when they were hot and exported it - it was never registered in the US. For weeks after the dealers phoned me trying to work out why it hadn't been registered. I had read on another board that as the car wasn't registerd in the US, they lost out on some of the dealer compensation from VW (holdback, rebate, etc?).
Do you know if there could be any truth in that? If so, shall I keep silent on why I don't want it taxed?
Thanks in advance.
Thx,
Jim
The same strategies don't work for everyone. Just my two cents...
Dealer laughed when I wanted the 7/100/$0 warranty for $795. I will call KC Summers tomorrow and get that.
Thanks
i have a 2004 XLE. Has anybody installed after market moonroof/sunroof in XLE. is it true that since in the after market ones, since they have to cut the metal, it exposes the metal for potential of getting rusted in future. any preference over webasto v/s asc. also if i were to install an aftermarket dvd system on the roof will it be problematic to have both the dvd and the moonroof, especially since the XLE has a rear seat audio feature which i want to keep if possible.
any input will be very much appreciated
Best bet is to follow up with these two stores for more precise information.
Glad to hear you're finding what you're seeking.
I would not travel to get any car from out of town until they send me a signed purchase order because I had heard of the bait and switch happening a lot.
And Fitz Auto mall said they would beat it until I came to them with the signed purchase order in hand.
I just went to them and told them the best offer I had so far and they matched it without looking at a signed purchase order. So it was a very easy experiance with them.
Price = $28,091.00 (for zip code 48362, Michigan)

Pack #4 = $2,108.00
S/r wind deflector=$38.00

What do you think guys? Thank you!
Is this true? If some one have this vechele, can you check if the VIN start with "J" ?
Ask this dealer to show you a Sienna with a J* VIN. Could you please let us know who this dealer is?
I didn't really have much time to haggle as the kids were getting antsy, but I'm fairly happy with the deal. Unfortunately I paid $1,195 for the extended warranty, which was too much. Live and learn.

Socal dealer - van had 2 miles on it and just came in today. If you are looking for a Sienna buy this week...dead time for some dealers. Four dealers were calling to make a deal after I sat down to deal... walked out on a deal when this last dealer called with this below invoice deal!
This sounds like a great deal. Could you tell me where you're located, and the name of the dealership? Also, was there an "advertisng fee" attached?
Thanks, LH
Seems some dealers are nervous about the last two weeks of the year..and will cut deals in the late afternoon or evening. However, don't look to the "mega dealer" for the best deals. Downey, Torrance, West Covina or Alhambra are other possibilities.
I don't think some of the dealers want to carry $39,000+ units into next year when they know more are on the way shortly. Seems also that Navi cars are beginning to become a little more available.(3-4 three per month)
Hit them on a week day evening if you like to dicker I don't!...and yes they can commit over the phone if motivated to do so!(don't accept "if I".. "what if I" clarify you options are an exact match and tell them no what if games).
We were actually sitting in the fleet office at the "Mega dealer" about to sign and write the check! But other dealers kept calling with lower and lower offers. Finally we walked out, the difference several hundred less.
If dealers believe you are going to buy immediately it exerts tremendous pressure on them! (I am going to buy from ------ today here's my cell #)
Secret- there is no such thing as a take it this moment only deal. Every "real" fleet/internet mgr. will honor the deal offered as a backup to your best offer. Hope this is useful. Happy Holidays - Sienna is a great choice!

The dealer offer $40,540.00 O.T.D. Is that a good deal or not? I am also lived in Socal area. Thanks!
I found out recently that I will now receive the vehicle until after Christmas during the last week in December. Unfortunately, I won't be able to pick it up until the 1st of the year because of a business trip.
After finding this out....the dealer suggested that I go in and sign the paperwork immediately so that he can "put the sold sign on the vehicle" and hold it so that no other dealer can sell it.
I will be able to pick it up...just not immediately. Based off of his estimated time of arrival, the vehicle will be on the lot for a couple of days before I can pick it up. During this time, can the dealer ( or any other dealer ) sell the vehicle if I can't pick it up immediately?
Thanks indy93. Actually the car MSRP is $39,856, but he offerred me $37,128 and OTD price to be $40,540.00. So do you think I can offer them $39,000.00 O.T.D.? Is it possible? That's $856 below the MSRP.Or what do u think the best price I can offer so that they will let go the car? Thanks for all the input guys~~ Merry Christmas.
That said, you should be able to get a better deal. I believe Indy93 said that Longo offered him $500 over invoice. If the dealer adds an "advertising fee" in the invoice price, then the HO invoice price should be around 35250. Add $500 and a $45 doc fee, then you should be at 35795. OTD price, then, would be $39K and change (T @ 8.25%, and $288 L). Oh yeah, add about $200 for the artic pearl.
I believe, based on my own preliminary research, and what Indy93 said, you should be able to get a better deal, especially if you, as Indy93 suggested in another post, go to competing dealers and let them know the current offer you are considering. Tell them to beat that offer, have your financing ready, and I'm sure you'll be able to spend the money you save on a few extra options or Christmas gifts.
Good luck, and let us know how things turn out.
It is an interesting that I first asked for a LE with 7 seats and the dealer yesterday emailed me said they got it for me. When I went there, the car just arrived with just 4 miles and I found it is an 8 seats model. The dealer said: “Oops, I didn’t notice it either”. Since the 8 seater is just $130 higher than the 7 seat one, I just went ahead to sign the contact.
Thanks guys in this forum, I gathered most of my information get this deal.
Questions: Can I get a better deal than $34,380? Does anyone has good experience/price with delears in Dallas/Fort Worth metro area?
Thanks for any inputs!
in my area, the invoice price for the LTD w/o any options is approx. 32000, plus a $300 "adv fee." Let's call it 32300 then. Add about $200 for the artic pearl, another $300 for random accessories and we're at 32,800. This suggests that you're still paying approx $1580 over invoice. You should be able to negotiate down to $1000 above invoice at the very least, $500 with some more sweat.
I don't have a clue as to the demand in your area, but I would try several dealers at any rate.
Good luck.
At least in Ohio (where TDA on this unit is substantially more than the figure lghong67 mentioned), a $3000 discount off of an MSRP of $37,333 is about as good a deal as is possible right now.
In fact, to give you an idea of market conditions here: I found an '04 Sienna XLE Limited AWD with the HE package and 4000 miles on it (supposedly driven by the dealer's wife). MSRP is $39,606 and invoice (exclusive of TDA) is $35,108. Their best price is $35,808, well short of my $35,000 offer.
I think you need to pinpoint the invoice to the penny and find out how much TDA is in your area.
Others claiming good deals have mentioned buying anywhere from a couple of hundred under that combined figure to $500-$600 over.
Good luck!
Paid $26,628+$1,086 Overhead DVD System +TTL
Was it a good price?
Bought it at Toyota of Dallas.
Good Hunting your Sienna should be home by Xmas!
1. What is difference between this fully equipped XLE and Limited. Package 12 includes everything the highest option Limited can have...so base difference is just differenc between Limited and XLE. I went through compare on Carsdirect.com and think it boils down to 2 things:
a. Limited is nicer leather and includes some faux wood trim
b. Limited has the parking sensors system front/back that XLE doesn't (package 12 which includes navigation also has the backup camera)

2. Dealer Price (verbal so far, from Westboro, MA Toyota) is $37,100 which includes delivery (but of course not tax, license, or document fee which is high at $245, but includes full tank gas (retail value here about $38 bucks and MA inspection sticker which costs $29). That's $200 more than Fitzmall (that's how I got the price, making them compete with Fitz..but that was as far as they would go, and Fitz is only $99 for doc. fee, but I bet it's just a doc. fee, no gas)
Comments: On how this sounds?
3. Totally different question: How usuable (if at all) is the navigation system to a passenger in the front while I'm driving?
