The local dealer is doing the work and it should be finished today. Once I get the paperwork, I may give my extended warranty company a call and confirm that it wasn't a warranted part. I just wonder how many other things aren't covered with their vauge language.

The trim has 3M adhesive tape on the back for sticking it down. Once stuck it
doesn't come off!
they're the easiest to manipulate and apply when they're warm. The material is
actually a thin wood strip with an epoxy resin coating...just like OEM wood
trim. The process is to clean the area where the trim goes with alcohol, apply
an "adhesive helper" that they provide you, and then CAREFULLY apply the trim
after removing the backing tape. It's easy on small pieces, but the larger ones
take some pre-fitting and patience.
Good luck!
Good to see you posting. I know you lurk! ;-)) Lottery? Ha-ha! CT is in the RED! How could that possibly be with all the MILLIONS they get EVERY month from the two casinos? I just don't get it!
The cigarette tax just went up yesterday. I think it's $1.51 a pack now. They're now something like $5.00+ a PACK!! Wonder what tax they'll increase next when everyone stops smoking or starts buying them online? They should raise the booze tax too. That lobby must be stronger than the cigarette lobby! ;-))
Glad your car is not another Christine. I'm even happier that my new one isn't either. Almost 14,000 miles and not one problem to complain about. How BORING!! ;-))) Hope you have many more trouble-free miles.

Osbourne: my brother owned one of those---he couldnt put up with the dos system and barely used it. He sold it shortly after buying it. But he got a lot more than the $41 offered on ebay. I wonder what an early Apple computer is selling for or a Radio Shack Trw model.

I have an LHS w/agate interior and have found absolutely nothing for the LHS, the console is different around the shifter compared to the 300M.
In a couple of weeks I will be removing the trim and sending it to these guys:

They have a decent simulated brushed aluminum finish. They use a standard OEM finishing technique on your trim. I like this better than the stick on stuff because you will not have fitment problems and they can do any part that you send to them. Estimated cost is about $130 but you have to do quite a bit of disassembly.
Mmmmm......you mean a "5-STAR" sold you a used 300M that had been in an accident and they didn't tell you? Wow!

Was the car originally sold by them? Did they take it in trade? Tell them to run the VIN on THEIR Chrysler computer. That should provide all the history on the car. Maybe you need to contact your state consumer protection department or state motor vehicle department to see if they can get the low down on this car. The former owner might be a good place to start to see if the dealer knew about any fenfer benders. Maybe you could also find out from the motor vehicle department what insurance company the former owner had and check with them.
If you wait until the dealer "helps" you, you'll have a LONG wait! I wouldn't sit back. Good luck trying to get the dealer to help. They don't even help when the car is new and under warranty.

Since Sunday is my birthday, it would be a good way to spend MY day. The S.O. asked what I wanted, I'm thinking Nikon CoolPix 995....any opinions? I know several have gotten Fuji-something....

Another question for someone, I don't remember who, but I saw a picture of seat bottom showing which bolts to replace for moving seat problem. I am taking car in next week for 6m service and would like to have copy of picture and tsb# to show them so that I don't get a DUH????
my wife say there is no problem, she weighs 100# so for her maybe it doesn't move, but when I put my fat [non-permissible content removed] in the seat there is a definite shift when starting and stopping.
Also, the passenger assist handle pulled out of ceiling on one side hope the screws were just too short.
Chris
I carefully inspect for evidence of body work or lack of it. If a car looks TOO good I really start digging. The evidence is always there no matter how carefully the work is done.
I looked over my warranty papers and looked under transmission and sure enough, there's nowhere that it mentions shifter cables. I may or may not call them to see what's up with it.
I saw the photos of the wood trim that you added, however, they're all the small pieces (around door, seat, etc.) Did you ever put it around the radio, climate controls and gear shifter? I'm curious how those big pieces will look.
You did a great job on the ones you've already done. This must take a lot of patience.

That's my car with the Joshua Tree Luxury Group/California Burlwood trim.
I have been very pleased with this kit and would highly recommend it.

(you can actually see the difference in redness with the flash picture -- it doesn't really show under normal circumstances...just with bright light shining on it)
Thanks, Silver

The dual tips loog great!
On a scale of 1 to 10, how difficult is it on the big pieces? I would think the smaller ones would be more manageable, but those large ones seem like they could be tough.
And yes, blonda, I have the exact same color interior, but with the Platinum exterior. I didn't realize it until (I think you) mentioned it that the platinum color was discontinued after the 2000 model. That's cool cause mine is the only one I see around my area in that color.

My wife has a '99 Grand Prix that's a great car, and she has plenty of miles to spare on her lease. But whenever we take a trip, I just gotta drive the M. Doctor, I need help!
