About a buck or two over triple net.....
Go for it
Just put a deposit on an EXL R&N for 32300 OTD @ Planet Honda in Union NJ The sales people were profissional and friendly they showed me the VAN and the color I wanted sign the paper (painless) in and out about an hour. The Van will arrive in a few days and I'm looking foward driving it.
1400 below invoice for EX-L!!! How do you get that!! Yes. I live in the North East (PA). Do you know any dealer in Northeast? Thanks.
Tran
Could we assume 2007 would begin in early August 2006 as well? Given the body style should be identical, the plant's retool should be minimal as well.
This is for any EX in stock(5) and they would try ot get one . Deal has to be done by end of June.
Think this is a pretty good deal?
If anyone has got it in the bay area recently, can you please post the dealership and the price you paid.
On the same day, I went camelback Honda the sales agent was not ready even to listen to us.
The calculation was
+ $25552 invoice
- $500 rebate
+ $650 destination
+ 11.17% for TTL+ TAX (Sales tax in arizona is 8.1%)
-------
it came to $28,000 plus, we offer $28,000 after 15 minutes of Negotiations they accepted the offer.
Make sure van has low miles and grab it.
Could've gotten slightly lower but decided to go with this particular dealership because of their stellar reputation.
What delearship did you get that price? Thanks!

is $5000 under msrp for touring, nav, res a good deal?
i'm in southern california.
thank you.
$33,750
add your state sales tax
add about $500 for DOC/MV/Plates
and that is what you should offer him OTD.
Make sure he understands you will pay for no other fees/add ons etc.
One question though, are you sure you want a touring with all the problems people are having with the run-flat tires?
Click on the below link to read about the headaches people have with these tires, then decide if it is worth it to get the touring.... if not consider the EX-L RES/NAV

thank you.
i'm in cali so i figure tax and dmv will add on approx. ten percent to the cost of the car.
Thanks
Robert
I figured Plates were about $300 and Doc about $200.
But if you want ask the dealer what he charges for them first. Then add that amount to the 33,750 + Tax
Also what is your local sales tax on cars?
a sec. dep. 2nd time around.
I'm not sure what you mean by multiple sec dep though.
Thank you
INV = 33,471
DC= 500
HB= 1114
Look to pay
31,857 +
1911 (6% tax)+
500 (Doc/MV/NJ Tire Tax)
$34,268 = Triple Net Deal OTD
Start your offer at $34,000 OTD
I just checked inventory at two dealerships and neither list Touring RES
only Touring or Touring RES/NAV
They may not make the RES by itself anymore on the touring.

Have bought many new cars over the years and have generally done well. Have never encountered anything like this. Have kept trade out of picture (2000 Odyssey EX 79K miles) to avoid low-ball trade syndrome. Can use any tips or guidance forum members can lend. Those of you getting 1500 under, where are you getting quotes at? Any constructive ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Save yourself some trouble and shop the local stores, especially Hugh White and Marysville. Do it in person, not over the internet. I don't know that you'll get your $1500 under invoice but given that you have an older trade, it's best to shop locally anyway.
If my local dealer would deal, that would be great--but they won't. I do not see the value in paying anywhere from 700-2695 more for a vehicle just to buy a vehicle locally. Seeing what the lowest price available is for a vehicle is not a crime, I see it as being financially prudent. If someone wants my business they need to earn it by dealing straight up and, providing solid service and value. They also need to understand that the process is a two way street. There have been many times that I have walked away from the best deal and paid a higher price because I felt that the integrity of a dealership and the character of a salesperson was more important than price. If shopping in person is the desired way to go,how come you are on the internet? You sound like a salesperson to me.
It was Crystal Lake Honda. I picked up the car last night - truth be told it was a bit of a pain in the [non-permissible content removed].
I had negotiated the price over the phone and gave all of my information and requested that all forms be filled out before i got there (this was about noon and I was planning on going in at 8:00pm).
I got to the dealership at 8pm, checked out the car, test drove it and by that time it was about 8:30pm. At this point, we went into the salesperson's office and pulled out the faxed form (which I had filled out with an agreed OTD price) and I signed it. Thought we were done.
However, I ended up waiting about an hour and thirty minutes for the business manager to hammer on a young couple to buy an extended warranty. Since it was late at night, they didn't have multiple resources to close the deal (at least that's what they told me).
So by 9:00pm, I told the manager (he said he was owner, not sure) that if we didn't complete by 9:15pm, I would be leaving disgruntled. He said there was little he could do.
9:15 rolls around, the business manager is still working on the young couple (not sure if they ever purchased), so I take the manual and keys to the car (which the salesman gave to me already) and leave it on his desk and go for a walk across the street to grab a bite to eat. I ate there for about 20 minutes. While I'm enjoying my delectable hamburger, I get a voicemail on my phone with an apology and promise that if we still wanted the car, they'd be more than happy to drive it to my office (downtown chicago) and bring the paperwork as well (I assume they thought we left).
Well, I stroll back into the dealership after the burger and the owner looks shocked. "I thought you left!" He proceeds to tell me the salesperson went home and that they left the voicemail. I tell him I went to grab a bite to eat and that we should close the deal.
Well I can tell you I've never seen anyone move so fast at that point. The business manager prints the forms in literally 45 seconds tells me to sign at the appropriate points (After I've read thoroughly of course). Out the door 5 minutes after I've returned.
I think the prospect of losing a cash deal with agreed upon pricing lit a small fire under their respective butts.
Without the wait, positive experience - not sure if it was intentional but certainly left a bad taste in my mouth - hope the dealership had a little bit of a scare (if I go down, I'm taking them down with me)...
The Dayton are Honda Dealerships quotes were White Allen - $27,663 and would not go any lower. Hidy Honda-$27,768. Voss Honda - $27,768. Now some of the dealerships said to come back with my best offer and they will try and beat it. But triple net price that some are getting around the country does not seem attainable in this area. Hope this helps on this end.
That said, the trade-in does add a huge dimension to the deal. Some dealers were completely inflexible with my trade-in and the Honda dealer that I bought from gave me considerably more ($500-750) than other dealers were willing to offer (full KBB value) even with an accident which showed up in Carfax and some minor dings, and the check engine light on...
I suggested an in-person visit for two reasons. First, some stores, Hugh White in particular, do not push internet sales. In fact, I know from personal experience (detailed below) that you can do (much) better in person there than with their web guy.
Second, getting quotes from 7 hours away when you have a trade opens the door to a serious potential problem. Ok, so you cut a good deal in Chicago and then drive there. Unless you're willing to NOT trade, they've got you over a barrel at that point and they know it. Given Ohio's sales tax credit on a new car purchase (which is applicable on an out of state transaction), you're talking maybe $1000 in your pocket with Franklin County's 6.75% sales tax rate.
At New Year's 2005 my sister and I separately bought new Pilots from Hugh White. I used a salesman with whom I'd previously dealt and she used the internet guy from whom she'd bought an '03 Pilot. We closed our deals within an hour of each other. She paid $1000 more than I did! Now, that didn't sit well with either of us and eventually they did an adjustment for her that narrowed the difference to about $500.
Roush and Immke simply won't deal in my experience. I'm not sure about Honda East. They were quite competitive for a long time and then things changed drastically a couple of years ago. I've heard they're now trying to get business back but you'd have to see for yourself (or perhaps already have).
All I can say is that when I bought my '05 Touring R&N in 2/05, I dealt with the owner at Marysville (they had just then opened the store and were anxious for business) but he wouldn't or couldn't beat Hugh White where I bought it for invoice (with about $400 worth of accessories thrown in) at a time when such a price was virtually unheard of anywhere.
I'm looking for a Touring with dvd and possibly navi as well, in So. Cal.
Also, how many miles/yr. is standard on a 36 mo. lease?
Anything else I should know??
This will be my first lease - a bit worried about the whole process!
