I plan to buy either EX-L with N/R or just Ex-L, there's about$2000-4000 difference, that's why I came to this question.
Thanks for any input.

I go to many functions with tight parking lots or people's houses where children are running around everywhere. Just tonight we were at a get together at a friend's house with little ones running around... we were able to see even in the dark with the cam. (Of course, nothing beats physically looking behind you and in your mirrors).
And I like having the DVD builtin and not aftermarket.
I don't think you can get NAV withOUT DVD anyway.
Yes, there is a price difference... but considering we're planning on keeping this Ody for a LONG time... the extra inetegrated features were worth it to us.
I'm shopping for a Van in the NYC area and I won't shop at White Plains Honda now that I've read these accounts.
http://www.newyork.bbb.org/reports/businessreports.aspx?id=26541&pid=44&page=0&F- indStr=White+plains+honda&SearchBy=company&Address=&City=&Phone1=&Phone2=&Phone3- =&MembersOnly=False
If you choose to get the items after market, which is still a good option, you will pay less, but you may find yourself fumbling around to find/plug in the Navi, service the DVD player etc.
Although I do not like to throw money away in this case (we hold van for 10 yrs) I am just willing to pay what would be likley an extra grand to have it all integrated with Honda.
I do feel that the factory installed navi/DVD should be better intergrated than after market installed theoratically. But the price difference (which maybe around $1500-2500) makes me think about this question. Sometime I am thinking if I should just buy portable Navi/DVD player which are only $1000 for both even for the best products on market, and I could bring them with me anywhere, and also I don't need to buy another DVD player for my son because he is the one sitting on back watching it.
Base $25,876 (including dest and $2K incentive)
adds 279 (cargo liner and mud guards)
Doc/Title 259
Plate xfer 65
Inspect 29
MA Sls Tx 1,309 (5%)
Total OTD $27,817
I was wondering how this compares to what others have paid and hopefully this will help someone out there get a good deal. I followed the methods described in these forums and got 10 solid quotes in writing before I talked to any dealers. Also, beware Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence, MA the sales manager gave me an OTD price in writing, I reconfirmed his price before driving down there and when I got there I was told that he made a mistake (he confirmed in writing) and the actual price was $1,000 higher! (he said I should have known that it was a mistake) I left immediately and purchased the vehicle from the dealer with the next best offer. This dealer tried to back off on the mudguards and cargo liner when we were doing the paperwork, but I had it in writing and I had to threaten to walk out before they agreed to include them in the deal.
Let me know if this is helpful and good luck!
I contacted all 5 dealers in the metro area and 2 just outside. I tried to email everyone but not all dealers had an email and a couple were slow responding so I called. Pretty much drove all of them until they could no longer match the best price so I think this is pretty close to the best you can do in our area. In the end the best price came from a short but sweet telephone conversation with the sales manager himself at the winning dealership.
As a little bonus, we were also able to get financing at 5.5% for 60 months, a really good deal from what I can tell.
No issues when we went in to close the deal.
Thanks to all on this forum for your advice and info, it really helped.

I got an offer from a dealer $29,300. But all the extra charge will come additionally, such as destination ($635), sales tax (7%), MVC, and so on.
Pls help me whether this $29,300 is a good deal or I need to negotiate further more.
I checked Toyota Sieena as well, but felt Odyssey is better.
I ended up buying the Touring w/Res and Nav for $32,700. and am wondering if I got a good deal.

On Sunday evening I was just browsing the parking lot, the dealership was closed but there was just one salesman, who left his card with me. Next day I emailed him with what I wanted, just a base model LX. He instantly offered me $4000 off of MSRP (26,280) resulting in a OTD of 23,462.40. I requested a OTD of 22500. He wanted me to come in to the dealership. I went there today evening, test drove an LX (only 2 were available in the lot) and choose one of them. After 2 minutes of talking, he accepted 22500. For minute I thought I should have low balled even more, anyway ,he worked back the base price based on my OTD. No financing. They accepted a personal check and within 2.5 hours, Nimbus Grey Honda Odyssey LX was in my garage.
Overall it was a great experience. If you have any questions email me at sri7039 at yahoo dot com, I can provide you the name and contact details for the saleman, he was very friendly, courteous and professional.
2nd place went to Luther Hopkins, even though they were really never the lowest bid in any give "round" they always matched or beat the best bid, until the end. Salesman was nice until the end when they fed me a line badmouthing Brookdale.
Honorable mention goes to the internet department at Richfield Honda, they had the best first round bid and ended up a still competitive 3rd, they just never moved from their initial bid (like I said, honorable) and so were eventually passed.
The Touring invoice is $35,388. If you subtract the $2000 factory to dealer rebate, as well as the 2% Holdback ( $795), then dealer cost for the vehicle is $32,593. So, the closest you can come to that number is the closest to their cost.
I bought my Touring w/ R&N on 09/30 for $32,683 ($35,400+/- OTD w/ FL tax, tag, and $599 dealer fees.) I took delivery of dealer stock, so I got some extra add-ons for no charge, too.
Currently best offer is for base of 27,249 = 29,810 OTD. I'm still looking for my color at this price, but before I pull the trigger, any of you experienced folks have any thoughts on this offer?

Since I got the car so cheap they wouldn't budge on accessories so I did get mudflaps for 150 and cargo tray for 90 which was 10% off. I could have got it a little cheaper at bernardiparts.com but it was one stop shopping.
As for other dealers in MA, thanks for heads up on Commonwealth. They did seem slimy and the only other dealers who came close to price was boch, and bernardi. herb chambers kept wanting me to come in. the rest weren't even close
Seems that the $28700 was even better than our deal - too bad I didn't check this site before we bought the vehicle this evening.
Maybe even a better price since the 2008 season is upon us.
Other folks have gotten that price including myself--see my post #16271 on 31AUG.
Good luck in your buying experience.
But there is item call "M.V.I.D transfer fee(optional)" on my contract for $299. Sales person explained this would give me extra $5000 above insurance claim if the car was stolen in 5 years.
Does anyone know it? is it worth $299? or is it just another way to steal money ?
Thanks for your input.
Nope.. but, it sounds like window etching..
is it worth $299?
Very doubtful..
or is it just another way to steal money ?
Sounds like an accurate assessment..

My question is, do you think I should try for this now or will an even better deal come along since they are still getting in 2007s and the 08's aren't here yet? I really like the Sienna better, but can't find a dealership willing to negotiate a fair price. I can get way more Honda for the money.
I'm getting really sick of the salesman. Either they are stupid or just pretend to be. One even said that deal($28,7) was b/c other states had sales tax and those dealerships make money off the sales tax, what???
I got quotes for 2007 Honda Odyssey EX from several dealerships in the Columbus, OH area, all giving me roughly the following price:
Base $24,200 (including dest)
Doc 250
Title 25
Tax 1,588
Total OTD $26,063
Is there any room for negotiating, if yes how much should I suggest?
Thanks
Martin
Enjoy the new ride!!! :shades:
Thank you to all members. I purchased Odyssey EXL on last Saturday from NJ (Honda of Essex)for OTD $29100.00 this price include Fog lights, mud flap, trunk tray, wheel locks and all season floor mats. My tax is 8.375%. Let me tell you something about the dealership, there internet sales manager (Luke DeRosa) is not an honest person, on Friday he agree with me $29000 on Saturday he increase $29600 and also he don’t want talk to me. But I met a different manager and sales person @ dealership they are very nice and help me lot. I was planning to leave the dealership with out purchasing the van then this manager call me and ask me if I give you $29100 OTD with wheel locks can you singe the paper now. I agree with him I bring the van on Saturday evening.
I have to meet my friend on Saturday who is living 5 miles away from this dealership and he told me on Friday to ask price from this dealer otherwise I don’t have any plane to purchase from Honda of Essex because the dealership is 25 miles away from my house. I ask flowing dealerships close to my house, Mahwah Honda, Nanuet Honda, DCH Paramus Honda, D&C Honda, Tarry Town Honda and White Plains Honda (# one Cheater) there price is $1200 to $1500 more.
This forum is very helpful for the car buyers.
Once again Thank you to all members for your wonderful help

Curious as to which ones you've talked with - there's plenty on the ground here in Central Ohio the last time I checked.
I'm getting ready to send out an e-mail blast for an EX-L to dealers in MA and your price ($25,197) is the best I've seen for an EX-L. Did you have a trade-in? OR was the price quoted above the actual base?
That's what I'm trying for -- if not better!
This is BEFORE my trade-in of a 99 venture extended with 137k miles (they are offering me 1800 trade in), I am going to try to get them to up the trade in value a little...
The GM of the dealer asked me not to mention their dealer name.
I originally plan to wait for the 2008, but I can't pass on this offer.
I kept my original cargo net since the 2007 does not come as standard.
I am pretty pleased with the auto door lock and unlock feature since the 2005 does not come with it.
I tried two other Honda dealers last Saturday. Both dealer only offer me 19,600 for my trade. One Toyota dealer offered me 20,600 for trade.
Good Luck :shades:
Add tax, title and doc fees. Bernardi and Boch was a little over 26,000 so Honda Cars was the best. Send me a email and I will give you sales guy I went through. Very good guy.
Has anyone bought EX-L in Phoenix/Tucson areas over the past 4 weeks? If so please let me know the details at mg_chase@yahoo.com
Very pleased with the deal, dealership etc. No BS, no surprises. They had a huge selection back then.
I must be slow, because I can't figure out your e-mail address.....my bad. May I ask you to send me the name to gsnoddy at wpi.edu?
Sorry about that....
or do they usu offer better rates (better then 4.9-6.0), or add more incentives prior to the end of a model year?
Thanks
