What do you think of this price for an 08 Honda Odyssey Ex model(standard, no added features) we're in northern Ca

    $24,888 vehicle price
    $234.75 DMV
    $2057.80 tax
    $55.00 doc fee

Total out the door price which also includes destination fee

    = $ 27, 235.55

    Should we go for it?
    Thanks for any input

That's an unbeatable deal. Can I get the salesman's name at Ed Voyles? I'm about to pull the trigger if I can get the same deal.

They are indicating a dealer charge of $575 ( seems very high ) for title transfer, tag, electronic filing ...they are including mud flaps, paint sealer, leather conditioner, cargo tray, and wheel locks...they say they have not added the costs of these "extras"
to my quote...hard to believe...I don't care for paint sealers and leather conditioners...are all these items added routinely to all Odysseys?

Open Road Honda, Edison, NJ did not honor the quote. Initially my print out was wrong, shown them the email. The manager tried the quote he got same 30099, still did not honor. One Salesman said that we will honor the quote, but the manager refused.

Ours wanted to put an addition $1000 for the pinstriping, cargo tray, and door protectors on the EX...we just kept telling them we didn't want any of that stuff, so they took the cargo tray out and ended up leaving the other stuff since it was already on and didn't want to take it off, but we didn't pay any extra for any of it

$23,215 + tax, title, processing fee, and freight.

Tax and title are standard costs and dealerships can't adjust them, right? I've asked how much the processing fee and freight costs are. Waiting on their reply. By freight, I'm guessing they mean destination charge; and that's about $695?

After gathering quotes from many local dealers around chicago area, I'm getting lowest quote of 26167.00 for 2008 Honday Odyssey EX-L model , not including destination or any other charges.

Is this price good or there is still some window of negotiation.

Some dealers like to add on these extras. It amazes me how many savey people on this board want these extras. Of course they don't want to pay for them but they are a deal closer. My Odyseey I bought (Ohio) in 05 had no extras added by the dealer. I think these extras are either always added or not do to the market leader in a particular market area then the others dealers in the area follow suit.

As I write this I realize I have never driven down the road, seen an odyssey next to me and said nice mud flaps or pin stripes. I must look some day.

Well I not sure how you post will help since since such a unique situation but I will add this:

I used to think leases were bad, but since honda's have such a great resell value you have to look at cost of ownership over a 3 year period. You basically have no maintenance over these 3 years except oil changes. Also in my state you only pay sales tax on the lease not the full price of the vehicle and my tax rate is 6.5%.

So IMO leases don't work for every type car but aren't a bad deal on low depreciating vehicles.

The only question what was the residual that the lease was based on?

If they lower the price and lower the residual then this is the same as not lowering the price.

I pulled a trigger and bought a EXL-DVD/NAV yesterday at Hendrick Honda in VA for 31400 OTD and I took Extra Warranty for 72 Months 80K Miles for 1435 and total it came to 32835 OTD and I got 2.9APR through American Honda.
I don't know this is good deal or Not.If you need more information my email is kkriso at hotmail dot com
  • obrien040362obrien040362 Member Posts: 134
you think you are going to have $1435 in repairs between 36K and 80K miles.
  • kkrisokkriso Member Posts: 6
I think I paid to much for Warranty 1435 I can cancel anytime the only problem will be after 36K I have Nagiagtion ,DVD and Backup camera if something goes wrong with that I may end up paying more.

Please can you suggest me any website for the Extra Warranty.
