Hmm...that's strange. Maybe it was all a dream. Anyway, FYI, yesterday I received another offer from a different dealer, Anderson Honda in Palo Alto, for pretty near the same deal. This was the quote below before TTL.
2006 ACCORD EXV6 4DR AUTO $23188 Model CM6656JNW #046178
My guess is that at this price, they are still making money and need to get rid of the 2006's by this month anyway. I would be willing to bet the prices will go even lower this month.
Since I already received my car, just a suggestion to others in the area to give them a try. For those who think I enjoy just posting lies for the fun of it, well, you know what you can do.
I believe you. I got my EXL for 21191 + fees and crap to equal 23100 OTD. The dealer also added a buncha extras like wheel locks and a sunroof visor and pin striping and mud flaps and when I emailed them to decline what they said was 1K in extras, in order to take the deal at Asheboro Honda (in NC) which was 23104 and they'd find the color I wanted, suddenly Honda of Concord was willing to beat that price. And of course they had the car on the lot. with 47 miles on it. Yes please.
I'm thriled with my 1 day old car.. btw. and it was just made, June 2006!
I've found this forum very helpful. Here are prices I received yesterday for an 06 Accord LX automatic 4 door in St. Louis. Prices below include destination and also the dealer's documentation fee (which varied from about $50 to about $150 across dealerships). Huey's 18,908 Leta 18,732 Vincel 18,549. (purchased) Each of the cars had the dealer installed mud flaps and pinstripes. These were all from in-person negotiations although the Vincel deal began with a very reasonable internet quote. I worked fairly hard on this so I think this is about as low as is possible right now in St. Louis. Also it seems as if the supplies of 06's are dwindling ...so hurry!
:shades: I'm looking to buy a 2006 Accord EX-L(4 cyl). Any thoughts on a good dealer in the Pittsburgh area? Dealt with Shadyside Honda in the past with some issues.
I have to agree, i paid 18,699 (roughly) , and everyone here was posting 17,999 for SE's had me thinking, the best price i got on a SE for 19,319 with dealer adds.
I think you got a great deal, i had to go five dealers before i got this deal 65 miles out of town.
I just picked up this same setup(Accord 4 Cyl EX-L manual trans) on July 31st in Lewisville, TX. Silver w/ black leather. Got rid of my gas guzzling Tahoe. I paid $21,537 including the destination fee (stickered for $24,700 incl dest). Didn't have to pay much in the way of taxes because my trade-in was nearly identical in value. Only other costs were $50 doc fee and like a $44 dealer inventory which I didnt feel was worth haggling over since I felt I got a great deal on my trade-in. Every other dealer offered me at least $3K less for my trade. Car also had $1800 in dealer adds that I didn't pay for. It came with the what seems to be mandatory pin striping, the trunk tray, wheel locks, the Pro Pak (door guards, wheel well guards, mudflaps), tint, and whatever EPP is...some sort of emissions package (I think) that they charge $599 for. I still have no idea - i'll call the dealer this week and ask.
What is the OTD price for an 06 Honda Accord LX V6 (with ULEV) in southern California? Please anyone has known about it. Because I heard from dealers, they said $24000 to $25000 OTD price. What should it be? Please anybody?
OTD prices include taxes and are different in every state and don't provide real insight and are misleading. W/o taxes which you have to pay you should be able to buy one between 1000-2000 under invoice in Cal. Do a search S. Cal seems to the best (cheapest) area to buy an Accord right now.
I have been emailing several dealers for quotes on a Accord 2.4L EX-L. Lowest quote so far is $21,678 + TTL from a dealer in Tenn. Is this a good price?
Thank you LOUISN for your response first of all. Then what is the invoice for the car I described 2006 Honda Accord LX V6 with ULEV. Please advise. Sincerely appreciate.
Edmunda reflects invoice is 23,030 including transportation for the LX V-6. BTW, that car doesn't have leather. There is a 750 dealer incentive. Do a search "California" Some prices are really low. One Cal. poster says he got an EX V-6 for more than 2000 under invoice.
That is pretty bad price. If you go back about a month or so people were paying 18300 to 18500 for brand new 2006 SE auto. Thats with the destination included not the TTL. Instead of waiting 6 months try this, email the stealers in your area. Tell them you already know what color you want, you already test driven the SE and you would like to pay 18500 not including TTL. Include all your contact info, be prepared to walk away when they say 20K, just laugh at them and say you got another dealer at 18600.00. Good luck
Well I hope your approach works better for them then it did for me. As I have discovered the market drives the price and if you are fortunate enough to live in a high volume area you can get those kind of deals, if not you are doing well to get the vehicle at or slightly above invoice
In Ohio, the doc fee went from $100 to $250 as of July 1, 2006. I paid it, but not without discussion with my salesperson on why it went up. I think it's negotiable, but I was happy with my deal overall.
Price Negotiations are getting a little tougher in some areas due to limited 06 inventory. Some sought after trim/color combinations for the 06 models are getting very scarce and dealers are actually limiting negotiations on these combinations.
I was looking for a 06 Graphite Pearl SE and the only dealer in my area who had this trim/color was unwilling to negotiate to the price levels of the other colors. While I was talking to the dealer there were atleast 2 people who came asking for the SE in that color.
I was only looking for an excuse to upgrade to the EX. I ended up with a Carbon Bronze EX with Charcoal interior. Even this was one of the last cars with this exterior/interior combination available in my area. Most EX have the Ivory interior with Carbon Bronze and I did not want the Ivory at all. On the 07 EX, the Carbon Bronze only comes with the Ivory interior and I am very disappointed with the route that Honda has chosen to take. They should offer ivory, gray and the charcoal interior choices on 'almost all' of the exterior colors. If this were true on 06 then my dislike for Ivory interiors would have severely limited my color options.
Bought a 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 no NAVI Silver/Grey interior for $23,000 plus TTL and a stupid $89 service fee at Wilde Honda Waukesha. No horrible haggling required and no nonsense transaction. Efficient and knowlegable young sales person. Great vehicle for the price.
Hi folks,I just bought an LX at huntington honda, they were excellent to deal with, just a little haggling and they had stock.I would stay as far away as possible from Levittown honda, they just jerk you around.I don`t know if huntington has an Ex-L though.
Folks, does anyone know if the $750 dealer cash is available on the 2007 Accord models like the 2006 (runs thru 9/5/06 on the 2006)? Anyone had in price negotiations on the '07 yet?? I, like some other recent posters, am trying to buy a specific color combo in a 2006 SE with AT and they are nearly gone. Almost all 2007's on the 3 lots I've been on, but havent started negotiating on an '07.
I got quotes from two dealerships, one in south Jersey and one in Philly. Both of them are almost the same, $19,9xx plus TTL and even documentation fee. What the heck? I really want this car but the price just does not look right. Anybody can share some experience or recommendations?
On paper, the price increases for most of the 2007 Accords are not that great when compared to the 2006 models. But if you look closely, the increases are bigger in some cases than you might think.
First, the VP sedan has gone up in price $400, from 18,225 (for the manual) to 18,625. The car still represents a great deal at that price, but take a look at the standard equipment. The 2006 VP had an AM/FM CD player. It seems that for 2007 they have stripped that off of the car. That's something that's worth probably $200, and perhaps more to get installed. So the price increase is really something like $600. I think Honda may have realized that at the 2006 prices there wasn't much incentive to get a Civic LX, because for not much more you could have the Accord VP (esp. since the Civic is selling near list, while the Accord is heavily discounted).
The other great deal in 2006 Accords was the LX SE. The price increase there is only $100 for the 2007, but again they've taken out something that really made that model great—the 6 CD stereo changer (basically, it was the EX's stereo unit). Again, they may have realized that with all that the LX SE came with they were stealing too many sales from the EX models.
The peculiar addition to the lineup, and possibly a great value, is the SE V6, listing for just 23,550 (if I'm remembering correctly) with auto transmission. That means that with discounts this might make available a V6 Accord for just 22k. If only they'd put a manual in that model!
The EX V6 MT only goes up $100 in price, and so now lists for $27,400.
Anyway, for those waiting on the fence, it may make sense to grab one of the last of the 2006s out there. They are going fast.
Hello, We are looking to buy a 2006 Accord LX I4 auto in the next week. We have received a few internet quotes but they are all over $19,250 including destination. Is this an issue with Detroit area Honda dealers or should we really push in negotiations? When I see other markets getting the same car for $18,000 or less it makes me wonder what is happening here. Thanks!
I just got a quote from a local Ohio dealership for $22,300 + TTL (OTD $24,078). This is basically the invoice price minus the $750 incentive from Honda. Is this is a fair price? I'm having difficulty finding any more 2006 Accord's in town and probably that is making negotiations a bit difficult.
My mistake. Under the short list of equipment offered they don't seem to list the stereos, but under the complete list you still have an AM/FM CD in the VP and a 6-disc changer in the SE.
That leaves ~$735 in profit/fees (who cares what they want to call it) for the dealer, or about 4%. These are 2006 Honda Accords, they aren't scrap junk the dealer is trying to dump. The 07's are not any better in quality, so the dealer can still take profit on them from anyone who wants to save ~$1000 off the 07. If it isn't worth that to you, maybe go with the 07.
You might find a more desperate dealer if you do a mass e-mail or fax attack to the sales manager of 20 or so local dealerships. But I wouldn't scoff at 19,250 incl. destination as a bad deal.
Thanks for the feedback! No it's not the SE just the base LX. I have no problem with the dealer make a profit but when you read in message 12374 that poster smiling2 in Milwaukee bought a 2006 LX SE automatic for $17,999 + $99 dealer fee + taxes + title it makes the $19,250 + tax + title I was quoted for the base LX seem like a ripoff. I though a good deal would be at invoice($19,368) which was the TMV at Edmunds until I read that post and some others here which quoted $18,500 and lower for the same car.

Enjoy your car.,

Let me know if you still think this is a good price.

The car came with pinstrip and window tint. Don't care for the pinstrip but I wanted the window tint.
Then you can put an add on e-Bay with a minumum reserve bid (cast about $150, but easy way to sell).
As very ,very last resort trade-in at new car dealer.
I have a V6 6-speed awesome car: good performance, good mileage on regular gas.
Good Luck,
