I got a dealer quote this afternoon for a 2007 EX-L V4 of 23,500. Yea or nay , anyone? Then they watned to add on $500 in dealer-add on's but were presenting the price of the car at 23,500....hmmm.
sorry to get sidetracked on you, lillev. I didn't want to comment on the vehicle price originally because I haven't really been following the '07s. HOWEVER, now that I'm looking at it, it seems like there is something missing in your numbers ... the destination charge.
You list the invoice at $21,043, which it is without destination. Then you go on and break down the selling price, but never add destination in. SO, if they are selling you the car for $20,900 and not adding the $595 dest charge, then I have to assume that's already in the price, WHICH MEANS they are selling the car for $738 UNDER invoice, which I think is a GREAT deal on an '07.
The accessories are your call. Frankly, I'm not a spoiler man myself and can't see spending almost $600 on one.
good luck.

I'm not sure about the destination part. The manager told me I need to add 10% for tax and fee .I'm in CA. tax rate is 8.25% .I will back to this dealer this weekend to see if I can get it out door lees than 24500. Sometimes I feel the internet price has trick too.
Sam Swope Hondaworld in Louisville. I got my (2nd) S2000 from them last year and we just picked up my daughter's new Civic EX sedan from them last month.
They told me they would do invoice on either I4 or V6 SE Accord sedan. I could contact them to see what they would do on an EX-L. They probably have NO 06 models left, as they tend to deal (at least with me) and seldom have any left over cars on the lot. Let me know if you want me to get a price or you need contact info.
Sorry for the delay in reply, I was off on vacation this week and tried to avoid spending any of it sitting at a PC on the Internet
I agree on the accessories. Folks should check out H&A (I always google Handa Honda to find them) for discount prices on this stuff BEFORE they go shopping. Also, H&A and other sites have PDF copies of the install instructions so you can see how bad it would be do it yourself - or how much the dealer SHOULD charge for the install. The trunk spoilers, for example, require you to drill holes in the trunk and use a special tool (not included) to replace the trunk springs. Ouch, not something *I* want to do to a new Honda. The security system price is not bad, but the install can be a bit involved for most folks. Ditto the fog lights (cut out the front fascia of the car in most cases).
So be informed and price this stuff out, but know that some of it is stuff you really want/need the dealer to install for you.
Well, that might be good for you if you want a no mile car and want to take the plastic protection off yourself - but otherwise that might be the worst time to try to deal on a car.
Most makers floor plan the cars for the dealer for free for xx days. So a new on the lot car costs the dealer nothing for a while, so no hurry to sell that one. One that has been sitting for a while may be off free floor plan and onto bank floor plan (where they pay interest each month on each unsold car). I would think THOSE cars would be more likely to net you a lower price - since they cost them money each month they go unsold - and if a similar car arrives on the truck they would not want to give you the same deal on the "free" new one.
If the dealer does not have the color you want, then make a deal for one coming in. They may be happy to mark it sold before it ever arrives - or they may be able to swap with another local dealer and still give you a good deal - but they may charge a little more for the swap service and there will be more miles on your new car.
I have found that dealers who deal will deal on any car, on the lot, on the way, on the truck. Dealers who don't deal low, may give you a little better deal on one that has been on the lot for a while or is a "bad" color (like black in AZ or FL) but they will never make you as good a deal as good dealer will
I bet they are leaving that out for a little "surprise" later. Makes it hard for any other dealer to match the price if THEY include the destination fee - then when you try to buy the car they add it back onto the quote. You always want to ask for the price of the car that includes the destination fee and the dealer fees (if any) so you can compare quotes - since your taxes, title, license fees should be the same at any dealer your choose.
Invoice the the EX-L I4 auto sedan is $23,165 including destination, MSRP is $25,645 also including destination. $24,845 is the MSRP for the EX-L I4 with the MANUAL transmission (including dest). So while your quote says auto the MSRP and I bet the "cash price" are for a manual (invoice on the manual is $22,446).
So I think you should get that cleared up before you go - it looks like they gave you a price on a manual car and not an auto. Otherwise the prices look good. Try for invoice or less including the dealer fees if any - when they give you a proper price quote but it appears to be an aggressive price - even if they based it on the wrong model.
I am trying to find a Dallas (or in Texas for that matter)Honda dealer that will match Hennessey's 19,500 on a SE. Lute Riley (6th largest in the nation) states they can' touch that..............HELP!!!!
NYC dealer cannot immediately provide wife's graphite color preference in 2007 model @$25,700, but can in 2006 model at cost of $24,00. Are prices offered reasonable, and should she go for the 2006 model or wait? Wife is driving me CRAZY!
Honda now has $1,250 in factory to dealer money on left over 06 Accord coupes.
Invoice on an 06 V6 EX with auto is $25,253 including destination. Then subtract the $1,250 incentive and you have $24,003 for the dealer cost (not including hold back).
Invoice on an 06 V6 LX with auto is $23,276 including dest less the $1,250 = $22,026 dealer cost.
So if the dealer is offering you the 06 EX for $24,000 including the car, destination, and dealer fees that is a nice deal. If this is an LX model, then they are asking about $2k too much for a left over model.
Invoice for an 07 LX V6 w/auto coupe is $25,253 so the 07 price (if for an LX) is not bad - but not the right color.
You are so right about the dealer . when we got there they said it's a mistake. We finally got the car out the door at 24200.thanks for all the informations you gave.

Just a note to let everyone know that I just received a quote of an OTD price of 24,000 (including destination) for an 2006 Accord EX V6. I am thinking about taking this deal because my lease expries in January, but I am so over the mileage that it may be better to do now. I am having trouble calculating payments though. I can purchase the car, and am also open to leasing (if the terms are right). I know that I will owe about 1800 on mileage, and 1200 in payments for the next four months. Does this still seem like a good deal, or should I wait until the end of the year? If I wait until the end of the year, do you think a similar deal would be available?
I am also open to a V6 Coupe, because of the 1250 rebate, but I have a feeling that the price would be the same (24,000).
Any advice?
Car man, can you give me some lease advice for Tier 1 and Tier 2 with whatever residuals Honda has for now?
Just locked in a deal for a 2007 Honda Accord EX-L 4Cyl Automatic w/o Navi Sedan including dealer installed window-tint for $24,400 DRIVE-OUT. It has about 80 miles on it, which seems like a lot, but it seems a 4Cyl EX-L is tough to get in Silver. I did tons of email correspondence with about 8 different dealers in/around Houston and this was the best I could negotiate. Any thoughts on this deal? The tax rate in TX is 6.25%.
Finalized the deal tonight for a 2007 EXL coupe 5MT in cool blue.
Deal was for $22582 (includes destination) plus TTL in MD, which was basically a few dollars over invoice listed on Edmunds.
Only issue was with trade in. Tried to low ball me and claim my 2004 Accord sedan was in fair condition and in the middle tried to get me to buy a warranty for my trade. That was a new one for me. I guess he thought I was born yesterday or just another uninformed female. Ended up with blue book for my trade. All in all a fair deal.
There is $750 on any left over 06 Accords. It is not shown on the Edmunds incentives page, but I think I saw car_man post in the lease forum that there is $500 in dealer money on 07 cars.....
Replying to myself, I now see there is $500 dealer cash. Is $21,000 or $20,800 out of the question? Looks like invoice is $20,919 including destination, before the dealer cash (so it's now $20,419), based on edmunds' listed invoice of $20,324. Car of interest:
07 EX I-4 manual.
MSRP $23,145 incl. dest Offer from dealer $21,220.
Just wondering what the consensus was on the so-called "destination charge" that is separate and in addition to MSRP and Invoice prices... it runs about $500 for an Accord. Is this a legitimate charge that is incurred by the dealership? Should this be factored in when negotiating or just ignore it and go straight off invoice price? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Yes it is legit - and there is no markup on it so it is the same price for the dealer as what is on the sticker. That being the case, I don't know why Edmunds pricing (and others) continue to show invoice and MSRP without it. Everyone pays it so "invoice" should include it as should "MSRP" or "sticker price". When I post a price in reference to either invoice or MSRP I always include destination - so to me invoice is $20,900 and not $20,400 plus $500 destination.
Dealer doc or prep fees are another matter. Just about every dealer charges them now and they vary from $50 up to $500 or more. So it is key when getting price quotes to get one that includes the car and destination and any dealer fees. Your TTL will be the same no matter who you buy from, so getting quotes with car+dest+dealer fees means you can compare apples and apples.
Pacman,I am looking for a 07 Accord SE 4 cylinder sedan. People all across the nation are quoting great prices Hendrick Honda near DC OTD $20,213 or Hennesey in Atlanta $19,500 sale price though I don't know if that included destination. I live in central Texas and the best I am getting calling certain dealers in Dallas,Houston and San Antonio is invoice $20,087 and thats not including OTD.
Thanks for your input on the destination charge. That makes me feel better about the price that I'm getting for my new Accord. I wasn't sure if the destination charge was something that is BS used to inflate the so-called invoice price of the car. So I'm actually getting it at about $300 below invoice if you factor in the destination charge as being a true cost to the dealer. I know the dealer is still making money but that is fine as long as I'm happy with the price. Afterall, the dealership has to make a living.
Hello BigSpring, I am in Killeen, just north of you. I emailed my email adddress to you. Please tell me where I can get an Accord SE 07 OTD $20,260. Thank you.
Thank you, Dennis, for your reply; it literally came as I was about to visit the Honda showroom and leave a deposit. I purchased the 06 V6 EX for $23,995. including car, destination and dealer fees. I collected the car last evening and it had 43 miles on the odometer; seemed a bit high, no?
Invoice on the 06 EX coupe w/auto is $25,262 including destination. The incentive page here at Edmunds says there is a $1,250 factory to dealer incentive on that car. So $25,262 - 1,250 = $24,012. So your price is $17 under dealer cost and included the dealer fees - so I would say that was a great deal.
As for the miles: everyone wants a 0 mile car and everyone wants to take test drives. So unless a dealer dedicates a single car of each type and configuration to be test drive cars then most any car on the lot will have some test miles on them. Rarely do they let anyone drive alone - so you would assume the salesperson would supervise to make sure the car was not abused during the testing. It is also possible this car was swapped with another dealership (the other dealer needed a different color) and the miles were put on driving it to the dealership to swap it out. 43 miles is "nothing" I have purchased several new cars that had a good deal more miles on them than that with no ill effect.
Does anyone know if Honda has begun to increase the incentives on the Accord? The recent postings of $20,260 OTD on the 07 Accord SE auto is amazing. In Maryland, the above price works out to roughly $19,000 (includes destination), excluding processing fee and TTL. That's like nearly $1,100 below invoice!

If they'd quote me that price i'd probabably jump at it.

Anyone have experience in CT. Dealers around me are nowhere near the reported prices. Any suggestions?
