We just bought 2 SE-V6 from Stephen Vincel Honda in St. Louis. We bought the 1st one at $20,303 and 3.9% 36 months financing. We were extremely happy with the deal so we went back today and got another one at the same price and terms (plus $100 referral bonus). The price includes:

    Pin Stripes
    Splash Guard
    Full Tank of Gas
    Destination Charge
    Documentation Fee

Richard Bellamy, the internet sales manager made the transaction so smooth, we were in and out with in an hour and fifteen minutes (thats including the fact that he was 30 minutes late and a 5 minute test drive!!!) The folks at SVH are awesome, very polite and nice. They all seemed to be busting their rear ends and happy. I guess thats what happens when you're selling these Accords like Hot Cakes. We took delivery of the first one today and my wife is getting the other one tomorrow. I did received an identical bid elsewhere, but SVH was closer to home and the other guy, also prompt initially, was on vacation when I tried to set up an appointment with him so I went back to SVH. So you SHOULD shop around for sure. But SVH is willing to Match. I tossed around my offer to all the other Honda dealerships, even the ones that claim they will match......its all &&&*, they never responded. I hope this helps and thanks for all those that've posted here and helped we with our decisions.

I bought an Accord VP Automatic at Phoenix last Saturday. $16400 including tint and something they called "value package" (trunk tray and some other other stuff). Had an interesting story for all this. Email me if you want to know more about it.

That's the deal I got at Larry Hopkins Honda. Almost got a similar deal at south bay honda, but the rep had gone home by the time I called back. Lesson learnt is that make the decision by afternoon of the last day. If it is late at night, they get the upper hand because its last day of the month.

The sour part of the transaction was that the car had 250 miles on it. I almost walked out on the deal because of that but then I had to get a new car soon so I decided to go with the deal.

I couldn't find a lower deal in the bay area. Honda of Hayward said they would match a written quote but most of the quotes I got were verbal. The dealerships wouldn't send me the email quote. They'd say "ok" and hang up but never send me the quote. O well.. I'm kind of satisfied with the deal although I know people have gotten it for 15 even.

Hope this feedback helps someone else looking
for a car. I'd say go to Bosh in MA and get it for 15,000$

You can name dealerships, you just can't post individual peoples name online due to data privacy concerns

I am in Tucson and if you dont mind could you email me your story and the dealership where you bought the car. Was this the out the door price?

    Thanks

Well aware of that however I received an email stating otherwise from the moderators, so I simply follow their stated instructions.

24,042 for a V6 EX-L is about 1500.00 higher than a quote I have unless that is a total drive out price including sales tax.

Hi I'm in search for a black V6 EX-L coupe and live in Utah. Unfortunately there aren't that many dealers here. I was wondering what price should I expect and what strategy should i use to get the lowest "T/T Out The Door Price"

Should I wait for the end of the month/wait for the 08 model to come out for the price to drop more?
  • cinkcink Member Posts: 11
IF I wanted a V6, I think I would have slid over to the Volvo and BMW crowd, where I can get the same gas mileage but escape from the plain-vanilla world of honda. Honda bores the hell out of me, but I will buy another one because no one can beat the 4 cylinder gas mileage and reliability.

If I was to buy a car out of state than drive it back to where I live, how would that work? Would I have to pay for the license and registration twice ect...?
  • hbj2hbj2 Member Posts: 22
On the options, I was thinking about these. Opinions and info welcome from all.

    1. Security System (I see in the specs that Accord has an engine immobilizer but not sure if it is a security system)
    2. Door guards (This ranks high on my list because of all those chips and dings the car accumulates otherwise. BTW, I think I may avoid this since the side moldings take the brunt and edge guards are a bit unseemly.)
    3. Trunk Tray (Dont think it would be much useful for me unless I spill some groceries. My 95 Camry still looks fine.)
    4. All weather mats (I know I can get these in a store for less but no harm in asking the dealer)
    5. Leather steering wheel cover (I like this because it thickens the sterring wheel somewhat making it easier for my large hands)

Whatever is "easy" is probably better to ask for if you want it for free. Just my .02.
  • hbj2hbj2 Member Posts: 22
i am already getting a moderately good deal so not sure if he will add anything at all.

i was asking more on the lines of buying this time. i dont think any dealer would give me a free security system. :P

Most quotes I got said 'good only till end of July'. Are you noticing that dealerships are pulling back incentives or are the deals still just as good as they were in July? Any changes?
  • michaelscaimichaelscai Member Posts: 75
how do i email? don't have your email address. can you name dealer?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
You pay taxes and licensing fees to the state where you live NOT where you buy the car.

So I got an internet quote for an out of state dealer for an EX-L V6 for $22704.00 and the Out The Door Price is $24836.62. So does that mean I would pay the $22704 with my states sales tax and licensing fees? How would I go about in doing this? Are there forms online?
  • godeacsgodeacs Member Posts: 481
It's done all the time here - you just can't post personal info on the sales folks, etc. Who sent you that e-mail and what info were they referrring too? Did you misunderstand? What were you divulging about the dealer??? Had to be more than the dealer name.....now I'm curious... :confuse:

You may include the dealership name, city and state in your post. Please do not post names of salespeople, telephone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information

This isn't the place to discuss the reasons I was given but let's just say I never broke the posted rules of the forum.

Honda "bores the hell out of me" too. That's why I'm on my third Odyssey (well, my wife is on her third Ody). I rarely get to take it in for a problem and when I need to take it in for routine maintenance, I barely get to open my wallet. Darn thing is boring me to death! If it weren't so bland looking, I'd probably buy an Accord and get a real good night's sleep.

By the way, I can't imagine anything more boring than a Volvo. A V6 Accord will put the Volvo in the weeds...

You've obviously never driven a recent volvo, then. Try out an S60R or even a T5. My '06 V6 6-speed Accord will outrun my '98 S70 T5 automatic ... but not by a whole lot. And that's only out of the gate. Run for a full quarter mile and my Volvo starts catching up. And it was no slouch in the twisties, either.

An '06 T5 is faster than my '98, and an R will blow the doors off my Accord.

    Hello,
I just bought a 07'Honda Accord EX-L v6 with Navi black exterior for 26,324. Did I get a good deal? I also got the 100,000 mile extended warranty,is it a ripp off?
    Thanks
  • vinnynyvinnyny Member Posts: 764
I stand corrected. What I should have said was: "If you're willing to spend twice as much on an exciting Volvo like the S60R, then you can outrun a $20k Accord V6 SE." Or you could spend $50k and get a luxurious S80 V8 which will also keep up with an Accord. Or, you could buy your Accord to drive to work AND buy an S2000 for the weekends...

The Rs sell for WAAY below their MSRP. Cap cost on a lease is only about $5k more than an EXLv6. But whatever. They are both great cars.

Does anyone know if Accord SE comes with some sort of pre-installed security system?

Also, any idea how much does insurance premium change if the car has no security system? Just want to get an idea how quickly I would be able to recoup the $350 for the security system by saving on insurance.

Paid 25K OTD for Accord EX-L V6 with decklid spoiler.

    Is this a good deal?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
Pay your dealer the cost of the car--22,704--Take your car to your home state and pay the tax and licensing to your state department of revenue or whatever it nay be called in your state. If you are financing the taxes through your dealer or a bank you still just write a check for the tax and licensing when you register the car and although I've never done this, your financier deposits that money in your account and it's part of your car payment loan. But tell your dealer, it's an out of state deal and he'll advise you. They might handle it differently but your home state gets the taxes and fees or you don't get tags or a title. BTW, good price!!

I don't see why it is a big deal. Whats the big deal about posting a sales rep's name? Everyone knows it is internet sales. If you know the name of the dealership, you can easily narrow down on the sales rep anyways.
  • 99buggy99buggy Member Posts: 7
After having a vw buggy for 8 years, I could use a "boring" car.. Life should be more than just car maintainence. I am looking forward to the years of "boredom" with my new accord VP :)

Sorry for the delay. I have been out enjoying my new car. That was the price I paid for the car. Did you get it for that price?

    Dear ddwmew,
Does your EX come with any pre-installed options? I was told by a dealer that almost all Accord come with pre-installed options either you want it or not and of course they were trying to make more money out of it. :p Your input on this is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

$26,324 OTD? I think you got an okay deal. I guess it depends on where you are. I want to say you could do 25,000 flat OTD, but I haven't tried.
  • jessy2007jessy2007 Member Posts: 8
No. Here are lots of 'clean dealers'. Lots of cars come with no pre-installed options.

I am currently a college student and would like to buy a descent car that will last me through medical school. I decided to go with either the Honda Accord or Honda Accord Coupe! Just wondering on some of the BEST deals or what people think i can get these cars for...

    Sedan:
EX V6, EX-LV6, or special edition (what is the main difference between the SE vs EX vs LX)

    Accord Coupe:
    EX V6 and LX V6

Hi Alicia, The dealer may have put some "add-ons" to the vehicle to make a larger profit. Such things as pinstripes, interior protection (scotchguard) undercoating etc fallinto this category. In your offer you can simply say that you place no value on such items. If the dealer added mud guards, premium floor mats etc, you could inform them that you want the items removed, and usually they will say that they will not charge you for them; however, they may include the cost in their bid if you haven't already gotten a figure from them.
I try to stay away from dealers who operate this way. Hopefully there are dealers in your area whose internet salesperson will give you a bid for a Honda Accord without these add-ons or unwanted extra accessories. Good luck. Ralph

    Hello all,
I live in Colorado and bought a 2007 Accord LX Auto for $19000 before taxes couple of months ago. I am very tempted to buy another one since the prices in MA are so appealing. I keep getting calls every other day from Boch Honda in MA who are willing to sell the SE Auto for $17100 ( actually they are willing to go even lower ). If it weren't for the fact that my family loves our other vehicle which I want to sell, a 2000 Odyssey, I would jump on this offer. Looks like they will accept any reasonable offer for the remaining 2007 Accords. They are the largest Honda dealer in the country. I am sure the 2008 Accord prices will be far higher than this at least for a few months.

I'm not picking on you, needacar5, but those differences have been posted a million times. The best thing to do (if you don't want to read old messages) is to get a brochure from a Honda dealer or go to Honda's website and look at the specs: Accord specs

    Good luck!

Well, the big deal is that the guy who is doing internet sales today for a dealership, may decide to move on and do something else tomorrow. I'm sure you wouldn't want your name plastered all over the internet somewhere, and neither would he. It is the dealership that is important, not an individuals name, and not posting individuals name is just a common respect of HR and internet practices.

Took the plunge. Bought from Honda East Cincy.

    Awesome dealership/Awesome Sales Rep/Awesome deal.

I went out of my way to get there and it was 100000% worth it.

Another poster had recommended and I concur. I was given the same deal as the previous poster.
  • fxguyfxguy Member Posts: 132
How about telling us how much you paid?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
I think the other Cincy buyer paid around 25,200!!

    OTD or before TTL?

The poster before paid $25100 if I recall. I got a quote from the same group this week for $24712 for the same car.

    Alicia,

My EX came with pin stripes only. Did not pay for the pin stripes. Dealer Installed options are a deal breaker for me.

Used Edmunds MSRP and Invoice for negotiations and totally ignored the dealer add-ons. As you know, the options vary from dealer to dealer.

One dealer had door edges on his vehicles with an MSRP of $399. His invoice was $30 on the door edges.

During smackldog's negotiations the dealer installed options were never discussed. If they insist on selling dealer installed options tell the dealer to call you when the truck arrives and before the dealer add the options. For the most part, they eat the lost due to high mark-ups.

Just saw a truck today on I-95S with about 15 new 07 Accords enroute to some dealer.

P.S. May order the wheel locks.

It depends on the state you are in. Read the posts for the last 15-30 days and you will get an idea.

what is the main difference between the SE vs EX vs LX

    Here's a couple of options.

    1. Go to automobiles.honda.com. They allow you to compare a Honda vehicle with other vehicles. You can use the same feature to compare two trims on the same vehicle.

    2. Using either edmunds.com or kbb.com open the spec webpages for each trim in a different browser window/tab. You can then flip back and forth to compare.

BTW, while option 1 is more convenient in that it shows a side-by-side comparison, I found the information a little better presented in option 2. Choose what you like.
