CMD74, I am getting mine at Plaza Auto Mall in Brooklyn. There was destination, tax, and DMV fee (70 for transfer plates or 138 for new plates) for a grand total of $25,780 (estimated). They have the car, I am picking up 3/6. Sorry I wont say the saleperson but I will tell you that it should be about the same pric everywhere since the economy is so bad with a gloomy future ahead.
I am not sure why people are saying there are no Accords in stock. I went to Open Road Honda in NJ they had a huge lot full of them. But dont buy from Open Road Honda cause they overcharge you.
I have heard some bad things about Hillside Honda that I won't mention here. I need some "good" stories about dealerships I can go and feel comfortable. Any advice?
I recently submitted a quote request through Edmunds for the Accord EX V-6 with Navigation. A local internet sales representative from Thomason Autogroup quoted me $28,260, which is full MSRP + Destination charge. When I asked if he could meet TMV on Edmunds (currently $26,021), he basically wished me luck in my search. He wouldn't even budge off of the MSRP. Is the Edmunds' TMV price way off or is it just the Pacific Northwest (Portland)? It's really no skin off my back since there are so many other quality makes to choose from. But because of this, I'm crossing Honda off my list of possible cars to buy.
So $23,625 was your purchase price if you were $50 below invoice(including destination, less taxes and MV fees)?
Sounds like you got a sweet deal. I wonder if I could get the same purchase price applied to a lease from them. I'm looking for a sedan, not a coupe, but the invoice is the same I believe?
Are you sure you can't give the sales guy's name? I can't see why he wouldn't want the business.
"!!!These people will not budge!!! Help....$900 $1000, $1200, $1250, all over invoice...Had dealer in Tacoma offer $25,100, asked him to do better he told me through email, good luck shopping, and thank you for shopping. Thats it, no return call or email..My thoughts.....Washington has high overhead costs and/or a market for Accord EX V6 at MSRP or above, and my requests are futile. I'm going to venture over the Cascades and check in Spokane market. If no luck then I must got get the 2.3 I4, and looks like pay pretty much what they ask :0( What quotes are people getting on Accord EX 2.3 I4 with leather..your help will determine where to start from for me....aaarrgghh. P.s. I've been talking with these people over a week now.."
alupnyas, you're facing some of the same issues in Washington that Californians have to deal with, too, in major population centers: an educated, upwardly mobile, affluent population in the major cities whose demand for Accords, because of these cars' reputation for environmental friendliness, as well as general desirability, outstrips supplies, and a dealer network acutely aware of same. They don't -have- to deal; they know they're gonna get their price.
After planning for a 2003 Accord EX V-6 Sedan for almost a year, I finally signed on the dotted line last night. I received all my quotes through direct dealer emails with follow up phone calls. Got several quotes of $700-$1,000 over invoice but managed to find a great deal/dealer at $100 below invoice ($23,575)- a no brainer. The internet sales manager was easy to work with - no hidden costs or extra add ons. Thanks to everyone who has shared their purchase experience to this forum. It's hard to believe that some people are willing to pay up to $1,000 over invoice for this car at this time period of the new model year. Current TMV and carsdirect.com pricing for my zip code for this model is running $700-$800 over invoice but obviously you can do better with a little work.
It's called capitalism at it's best, nothing near socialism.
Your high demand is giving the market (dealers) the availability to charge higher prices. Although people are getting invoice, I remember years back when people would be happy to get $500-1000 over invoice.
I am also in SE Pennsylvania and plan on purchasing an Accord by month's end. If you don't mind, could you share the name of the dealer/salesperson you used? I've made my email public for now if you don't want to post it on the board. Thanks!!
I live in metro atlanta, got a quote for EX-v6 $23215.00 and drive out $25,615.00, my tax rate 6%. I figured out they'll charge about $520 for fees which include title, doc fee etc. what is average charge? I heard different numbers from 320 to 450. also they'll give some option installed which not mentioned either in EDMUNDS or HONDA.COM. they say they are just for protection of new car. after all this, the drive out is about $26100. what do your guys think about this? please give me some suggestion.
Based on other people's experiences, it's not that difficult to get an EX-V6 for invoice these days. Thus you should be able to get your car for a maximum drive-out price of $25,436 (invoice + dest + 6% tax + $300 doc + $40 tag/misc).
You'll probably get a lower price at month-end when dealers would have made enough profit during the preceding weeks and/or are willing to sacrifice a part of their hidden margin to meet quota incentives.
"First-place finish" (paint protectant), mudguards and roof visor should not cost more than $150 if purchased outside; they're profit-boosters for the dealer. I didn't pay for these when purchasing (at invoice) my wife's 03 EX-L in Nov 02.
After agreeing on the purchase price and if financing the car, careful with dealer's backroom tricks like "the lowest APR we can give you is x% because of your credit rating." This scheme could bring you back to square 1 price-wise. Best to have pre-approved financing when not buying cash, or at the least pre-calculate monthly payment using this site's payment calculator assuming a reasonable APR (say 5%).
Bottom-line advice: buy month-end, negotiate at invoice that includes visor, mudguards and paint sealant, know your target monthly payment, leverage at least 2 dealer quotes, and be ready to walk away, if at all possible.
The invoice price for 2003 Accord EX v6 coupe is $23,305 according to Edmund's. I paid $23,250 + 460 dest chrg=23,710, 23,710*1.0825% NY tax= 25,666, 25,666+ $65 transfer plate fee=$25,731. This is the final price I paid.
You're welcome. Yes, I can recommend a dealer and salesperson to deal with. What I recently realized however is that the buying process can be simplified further by getting phone quotes from 2 or 3 dealers by asking "If I buy today, can you sell the car including visor, paint sealant and mudguards for $25,400 OTD ?" I have a friend who bought 2 Accords (other one for his daughter) at invoice this way. Car was cleaned and ready to drive out when they arrived at the dealership; transaction took less than 30 minutes if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, email me for the dealer and salesperson name.
I don't know what you've found, but I got a great deal in Maryland for and EX-VS Navi from Jim Coleman Honda with NO hassle.
I paid $25,569, with mud guards, wheel locks (which are basically standard anyway) leaving out only tax and tags. The internet sales guy's name was Jon Barnswell. They were straight on everything, I'd go again. Check em out if you're still looking.
I went to my local Costco in Westbury NY last night and picked up their ad. It says Costco members get a "members only price sheet" which can be compared with dealer invoice.
I logged onto Costco website and registered for this service. The only Honda dealer participating in my area is Honda City in Levittown. Has anyone tried this Costco service?
I am interested in purchasing a 03 Accord LX dr. Automatic in Atlanta. CarsDirect.com has a price of $18,112. I am waiting on some Internet quotes from local dealers before walking into the showrooms.
I know it's best to purchase a car at the end of the month, but the war and economy should slow sales and it might not make a big difference to wait. I missed the 3.9% Honda Finance deal from January, but is anyone aware of the Honda trends with incentives and financing? Should I wait until April if they always have special deals and such?
Just picked up our new Accord Ex-V6 with fog lights and rear wing spoiler for 24,500 plus tax and title. Thanks to this site I was able to make a good deal. Mudguards, wheel locks and chrome tips I can do a little later when the weather warms up.
chapel: Try this website for the accessories you need: www.handa-accessories.com. They have the cheapest prices I have seen on Honda parts and accessories.
marito: If you want to contact me at anonymousposts@yahoo.com I can give you the names of some local Honda salesmen who I have worked with and had good experiences with.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good dealer in my area? I've done my homework (Accord EX-V6 is the choice) and now I need to make the deal. I'd rather cut to the chase then run around, so any directions (based on experience) would be welcome. Thanks.
Ntruoman don't be in a hurry!! We went out to test drive a accord two months ago. And ended up getting fogs and spoiler for free. The original best price!! I also did a internet price to make sure I could prove my deal was a deal! The Honda dealership we went to seemed to be very buzy.If they know you have internet info and are really going to buy You can name your own price. And don't be afraid to walk.Good Luck!!!
I highly recommend staying away from the big cities and looking for an EX V6 or EX V6 Navi in Milwaukee. Poor economy, lots of competition, and lots of inventory. I was at about $400 below invoice on the V6 with Navi, but decided to keep my 2001 for now. The salesman I worked with was very nice. He suggested coming back at the end of the month, and selling my car independently--both fair suggestions.
We started talking at invoice...including destination. Just a suggestion for those complaining they can't go lower.
Hi, I bought at Autofair in Manchester, NH,. They had a great deal advertized on a 2003 Accord EX w/leather. I paid $20383 for the car. The only extra cost was $121 for the documentation. This is like $700 below invoice. They were great to deal with. No hassle at all. No suprises. Just the car at the price they advertized. I live in Connecticut and it was worth the 2.5 hour drive to save all that money and have a no-hassle deal. They have inventory and prices listed on the web. www.honda.autofair.com
if you're already on this site you're well ahead of what the Costco program will get you. I used it and was only offered $100 off MSRP on my EX-V6 Navi. From suggestions here and then emailing the internet sales managers directly I paid $100 over invoice (not bad for mid November). Write a standardized email laying out exactly what you want, and asking for their bid in terms of $'s above or below invoice, including and identifying all associated costs, and just go with the first low bid. The lowest bid I got the first time was honored no problem. Don't shop thier price around, just take what you see or don't, and it should be an easy and pleasant buy.
Hey folks, After finding this site and following it for roughly one month, I took what I learned and made what I think was a decent purchase. I used the dealer locator provided by Edmunds to try and get a few quotes on a Silver EX V6 sedan, but only one dealer was willing to send me an actual figure of $23,995+TT (call them dealer S). When I went to the original dealer I intended to buy from (I've had my 92 Accord serviced there the past 6 years), I was quoted a price of $26200 less $400. When I told them I had been researching the cars value, this dealer (call them dealer C) said they could drop $200 to $25600. When I shared dealer S's price ($24000 +TT) his eyes almost fell out his head. He went to talk to his mgr and came back 5 mins later at $24600, no lower. When I left dealer C, I called dealer S on the way home and was told they had 'just sold the last Silver but could give me an extra $50 off if I took a blue one they had'. They also said they had no idea when the next Silver one was going to arrive and no other dealer in the area had a silver to trade for. Already having a buyer for my '92, I contacted the next closest dealer to my work, Martin Main Line Honda. I told the sales rep that I could either wait a few weeks for the next Silver at dealer S, or come in and buy it for $24,000 +TT, no financing or trade, the next morning. I was put on hold for 30 seconds and told the deal was done. Being the 1st new car I've ever bought, I expected to spend 1/2 the day at the dealer, but was in and out in less than 1 hour. While I realize I may not have gotten the best deal posted on this site, I think the $24k works right in line with the 'not a bad price' group of buyers. On another note, I really love the car and am back to enjoying driving again (I owned a 5.0 Mustang with sunroof prior to my last Accord. The new Accord's not as fast as the Stang (or meant to be), but sure as hell is more comfortable). I can't wait for Spring and the 1st drive to the Jersey Shore. If anyone around Philly is looking for a dealer to buy from, Martin Main line should be a consideration (my salesman was Robert Ferreira).
Hi, I tried checking out the website you listed, and couldn't find anything with www.honda.autofair.com, is the fair over?? If not, how long does it last? Thanks.
AutoFair in Manchester NH has all its Accord inventory under invoice. Commonwealth Motors in Lawrance, MA frequently has low prices. For example, I bought a new 4WD-5sp-LX-CRV last year for more than $700 below invoice (Ad price without negotiation, no hassle).
Made an offer of $24,500 Silver EX-V6 2003 includes tax and all of the other things the dealer likes to charge you for. He accepted. This price was out the door. Had another dealer cut the first offer. We ended up with $24,250 out the door, and they financed at 3.95% for 48 months at the dealership plus free oil changes for life.
Well, finally it happened. I waited 5wks to get my spankin new coupe. I bought it in Phx, had it shipped to CA. It arrived with 3.3 miles. Tinted windows, mud guards, door side moldings, fog lights, brushed aluminum trim all compliments of handa-accessories.com. I have to say that the color is beautiful. Definitely, all new buyers, check and adjust your tire pressure. Mine arrived at 40, instead of the recommended 32/30. My deal was fairly good at 26200 including destination w/ some added perks. Altho, Norm Reeves in cerritos quoted me 25865. This car basically had no miles and no one else test drove it. Pretty much was delivered to my door in MDR. And I avoided the hated 8.25% california sales tax in addition to the 213.00 license fee. Due to my profession, I keep my cars registered and titled in Ohio. My problem now is that they parking spaces here aren't big enough... now, where do the semi's park? It will break my heart when someone dings my door!
Can anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area tell me what kind of prices they were able to get for a 2003 Accord EX V6 sedan and at which dealers? Thanks in advance.
i don't understand. even honda city website has the sale price for LX Auto for the invoice price of $18463. Why would they advertise the invoice price as the sale price and then charge $700 over invoice as a costco member???
miles 15, you stated in post that you had a prospective deal for $400 under invoice, seemingly w/o much trouble and that you started from invoice. Would you be willing to divulge name of Dealership and Salesperson? If so and you prefer not to post it here you can E-Mail me, my address is in profile. Would be appreciative.
After reading all the articles for the past week I went armed with all of your wonderful tips to David McDavid Honda in Irving, TX. I walked in and asked for the Internet salesman and in 10 mins. had my car for the price of $23,260 with destination thrown into that price. I only needed to add TTL. I think this was a good buy. It was for a 03 EX, V6 loaded no Navi. He also added the protect pkg (wheel locks, trunk liner and a few odd and ends). I was out in 2 hours, I just had to wait 1 hour to sign papers they were busy that day. Thanks to all who posted here as I think I made a good buy.
Because they will steer you to a particular color and maybe a demo at that price. Obviously to see if they can get as much as they can, then work down to make it seem as if they are giving you a break. they like to bully, and the place was crowded and noisy. Neil Honda in Hempstead was the same way. Huntington was nice, but Babylon was the best, in many ways.
I see that Toyota is giving cash back to dealer on most models this month. I wonder if Honda will do the same for its dealers soon. Does anyone know if the Accord will have any special deals?
jsolis, Can you email me the name of the internet salesperson you talked to at David McDavid in Irving, TX? I'm planning to buy one during the last week of this month. I've made my email public. Thanks.
I negotiated a price over the phone with a few dealers and walked in an hour before closing and paid the following: $17,950 + tax + title
I purchased the 5yr / 100K warranty for $900 bucks. The sales man was great, but the finance manager had an attitute problem. I am really happy with the car and I would like to know what other folks in Atlanta are paying for an LX.

MSRP + Destination $20,460
Mud guards, pin stripe, floor mats $395
Int/Ext Protective Coating $598
