    Hello,

What is good price for EX-L with RES and Navigation for 2010 Honday Odyssey.
I live in Pleasanton/Dublin/San Ramon area.
  • happy4everhappy4ever Member Posts: 4
$945 for 7 yrs/75K miles (told him we don't use the miles)

Is this premium return price? If you don't use it, you get the money back? I got it for $18XX, the retail price is $2100. If it is the same thing, I'll consider to return it.

I'm in Bay Area with a 9.25% sales tax. I found it hard to negotiate with the dealers. Maybe because of the low inventory. I finally have a base EX-L for $28,048 including destination fee. Second best quote I got is $31888 OTD.

    happy4ever, thats an awsome deal!!
i'm in bay area and you are right, so hard to get good deals here.

which dealer did you get it from? and sales persons initials?
    please, letme know.
  • happy4everhappy4ever Member Posts: 4
pit4, they have no more EX-L base, but if you go with RES and NAV, you may have choice.I Asked for an internet quote, then directly asked if my target price can work. Then, the dealer said they couldn't make it, but XXXX instead. Since we've talked to other dealers, we knew there was no more room to negotiate. So we just take it.

South Bay Honda offers 31888 OTD (wheel lock, mud guard), call Sky.
Fremont Honda didn't want to negotiate price over phone, maybe you can get a better price by going to the store. I did the deal with Sunnyvale.

Shopping for EX-L w/RES in the South Bay Area, CA. What purchase price should I be expecting? Quotes are coming in with $1500 off for manufacturer incentive, and they are saying I can have either the cash or the special financing, but not both. Is this true?

MSRP is 35715 including dest, accoridng to Edmunds, invoice is 32416 and the TRU price is 31590. Thoughts?

Oops, I didn't know either. Can you email me then? tmchan00 at hotmail. Thanks.

    cinnabarhills,

That is true about the $1500 or low APR. But, we just went with a credit through our AAA membership and a 2.9% 5yr finance deal. let me know if you need more info.

bought Odyssey EX-L with RES in NJ last week. Price including destination was $30000. OTD price was $32650. The vehicle had pre-installed splash guards and cargo tray.
  • qinsong99qinsong99 Member Posts: 20
The price $25750 is fair. My buddy just got a EX from Matt Castruci Honda of Dayton, OH for $24970. Good luck!
  • automaticgautomaticg Member Posts: 1
DOZER.. I do not have a AAA membership, but would be willing to pick up a membership just to get the 2.9% 60mo financing- do you know if there are minimum time requirements on when one becomes eligible for the special AAA member financing through them? Do you need tier 1 credit- I'm at about a 650 fico...? Any help is appreciated.
  • massyankeemassyankee Member Posts: 9
automaticg: There's no wait as far as I know. AAA acts more like a broker with banks, insurance companies, etc. to offer these types of services. I've used them for both. The fine print will be that, yes, your credit score will be taken in to account just like it would with any other lender. While AAA's rate may be one of the lowest to begin with, you'll probably want a few quotes to compare for your specific credit score. I will say that, out here in Boston, AAA has always been very pleasant to work with. Good Luck!
  • bigdozerbigdozer Member Posts: 32
    automaticg,

go to penfed.org/aaa . Did the entire application process online instant approval.
If your FICO is about 650 you may not qualify for the lowest APR. But a stronger co applicant could work.

Penfed is a US military credit union. to become elidgable to join you pay a one time $20 fee. then you can instantly do the application online. they also have great customer service.

If you are approved for the loan, request an actutal check made payable the dealer. We made that mistake first, they sent us a DRAFT CHECK our dealer and most in my area would not accept.

    Hope this helps.

Best of luck on your pending purchase.

Just purchased at 2010 Ex-L Res and Navi for $32867 including destination. This was before TTL but did include 5 year Appearance protection, cross bars, wheel locks, mud guards, cargo mat for the rear, antitheft Vin etching, and an extra wireless headset for the 3rd kid. In addition got them to give me an additional $1000 for my trade that Carmax was willing to buy outright for which we would have sold to them. Also pulled $70 out of the grab as much cash as you can tank in 15 seconds. The van was the exact color the wife wanted so she was happy but of course I am questioning my purchase price. Truecar has a Great price of $32695 for my area. Any thoughts?

    Hello bigfatchad,

Where did you purchase this from ? I think you got a great deal.
I am looking for one in Bay Area, California. The dealer is giving price of 32198 without anything that you are mentioning.

    Hello Friends,

I plan to buy a Honda Odyssey EX-L with Res/NAvigation this week. Can you please share with me what is the best price now a days for this car ? I have gotten a quote for 32198 but does not include any accessories.

Two other questions that I have are :

    1. People who bought this recently - did you compare with Toyota Sienna 2011.
Any inputs one way or another ?

    2. Is it worth waiting for Honda Odyssey 2011 ?

It will be great to get some feedback from this community.

    Hello Vik,

I had purchased earlier in the month for $31,980, EX-L w/RES & NAV, came with wheel locks, black cargo rubber mat, mud flaps

    1. I did compare with Sienna, however since the Sienna is a 2011 it's residual is different than a 2010 Odyssey--that is if you intend on Leasing. It's hard to compare the Ody vs the Sienna--because they are 2 different design times.

    2. If you can afford the new Ody, go ahead--just remember when brand new hot cars hit the marketplace, and there's a great demand--there are few incentives to move those cars, they sell themselves. The deals on the Ody's are now, finally remember this:

while you wait. 1. Inventory is going to become very limited very fast. 2. Incentives may get a little better. 3. Residual Values will re-adjust (Increasing lease payments).

    hope this helps.

Does this $31,980 include the destination fee. I am in SC and I got quote for $32,900 including the destination fee with similar kind of add ons.
  • clermontflclermontfl Member Posts: 108
    Vik,

You should use the edmunds.com True Market Value report (look on their website)
-National MSRP is $37,205 (with destination of $780, so $37,205 without)
-Invoice Price is $33,694, $34,474 with Destination
-What others are paying with destination of $780, =$33,358

Here's the breakdown of what was agreed upon., Yes this includes destination Fee, here in Florida it's $710, not the $780 listed on the Honda website, this destination fee is based on what region of the country you are in.

-cash price of vehicle: $31,980 (includes destination Fee)
-accessories/options: $199 (rubber tire insurance) only 1-tire will cost you $150, and this covers all 4-so yeah, it's worth it.
-pre-delivery service fee, $699.00 (this is also B.S., I would fight this-"not to pay it", then walk away if they make you pay it, it is another profit for them) I paid it, mine is a long story.
    electronic registration: $20.75
-aquisition Fee: $595.00 (up-front paid on leases, but there is no Disposition Fee with Honda) so you pay nothing when you turn a Lease in back to them.

so total cap cost -$227.54 (part of small down payment, )= $33,257.41 (OTD).

    hope this helps.

    Hello friends,
I looking to buy a new 2010 Honda Odyssey LX, The quote i got from Edmunds is MSRP: $26,805, However I was wondering if anyone bought one of these cars recently and can maybe tell me the best Out The Door (OTD) price. I will be buying this car in Southern California and the sales tax here is around 9.25%.

    -Thank You
  • odyssey4usodyssey4us Member Posts: 45
That price seems high for an LX. I got quotes like that for an EX in Alabama. You might want to check to see how much for an EX. Maybe it would be about the same or only a little more. Dealers seem to keep a lot more EXs and EX-Ls in stock, so maybe they can deal on those better. Good luck.
  • odyssey4usodyssey4us Member Posts: 45
If I were going to go that route instead of a brand new one, I would want at least $1000 off what they'd sell me a new one for. Plus, I would want proof that someone at the dealership drove it, and that they did not sell it to someone and had to take it back. If they did not title it to that person, they can sell it as a new car instead of used, and you may never know that you actually bought a used van. Ask to talk to the person who had it an make sure they had it for all 1000 miles. Also, get them to put in writing that it was never sold to anyone. You might think a dealer would not hid something like this from you, but they will. Further, be aware that your factory warranty began when they put it in service, not when you take delivery. Whatever you do, if you buy it, get any representations in writing. You may need them later. Not trying to worry you, but I have been through this before. Hope it works out

    Odyssey4s,

    Sincerely appreciate your advice.

And your number ($1000 ) is more realistic than the depreciation costs suggested by edmunds website ($4,570 for 1 year).

My offer ($2000 off new one) was not accepted and I walked off.

    Thanks again.

    Vik,
I would hope that the price quoted to you is good. All the extras I got besides the extra head phones were already in/on the car. Would the dealer really take them off/out of the car? Probably not. They wanted to charge me for all of them but I said no on all besides the 5 year appearance protection and they left them on the car. I probably got rolled on the interior/ exterior protection (wax and can of scotch guard) but with 3 kids under 5 and recently seeing the condition of the interior of my buddies 2009 Mercedes and having that stuck in my mind, I opted for it. He has 2 kids under 5 and the carpet in the 2nd and 3rd rows is disgusting. My trade in interior was pretty chocolate M&M'd as well but I had dark carpet so not as noticeable. I had read plenty before the purchase and all had said to decline it but who knows whether they had little kids or not. My dealer would not budge on the dealer fee of $499 so I know I got taken there but he had the color my wife wanted and I got them to add another $1000 to my trade in, which I was not expecting, so I felt great about that. I think between 32k and 33k is the going rate. With all of us that paying those prices, I couldnt tell you how bad we are getting beat. If everyone is paying around that are we getting a good deal or is it now average? Carsdirect says 33350, TMV 33350, and Truecar says 32600 is a great price at dealer cost. Inventories are dwindling. My closest dealer only had 2 Ex's, the rest were Touring so I had to drive a little. At 32867 with the extras before tax tag and title Im still curious as to how I did. BTW Ive gone about 125 miles on a half a tank city driving so the mpg is sucking so far. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip on AAA massyankee. I will check that out. I just purchased a 2010 EX-L for $30200. It was at the end of the month in the Chicago area. It was at the end of the day, end of the month, so I basically took another vehicle off their books for Aug. I decided against the 1.9% financing opting instead for the $1500 incentive which knocked down the price. I didn't bargain for extras which was my mistake bigfatchad, but I needed leather and wanted a moon-roof but also got those nice extras TPM, rear view camera and variable cylinder management which gets you the 25 gpm HWY. I got tired of the Chrysler T&C problems but needed a mini-van to haul bikes inside. (Wish the 2nd row seats folded flat against the front row...that's why I almost got another T&C w/ sto-N-go). Now I need the extras of mud flaps, hitch for utility trailer, cargo mat, side window deflectors, roof rack crossbars, etc. I should have been better prepared. I would suggest going to the higher volume dealer first to neg. a price...they have more flexibility due to stock on hand. I am from Madison, WI but this is a captive market so I drove 100 miles away to buy. Also, many dealers now are not getting more 2010's in so now is the time to buy B4 the 2011's arrive. You may not get the color scheme or model you want. I did. luckily, but I bought from a smaller stock dealer (more pleasant experience) with another quote in hand to get the color I wanted. I bought new over used because I wanted the full warranty and the used market prices showed Honda holds their value even with three or more years of mileage. I love it and I deserve it and I feel much more safe in it + it's fun to drive. Good luck.

Got a quote from Sunnyvale for EX-L with RES/NAVI for 32,274 which includes $1500 manufacturers rebate - does anyone know if this $1500 rebate is new for August which makes the deal nowhere near as good.

I have been looking for Odyssey EX-L w/res/navi for almost 3 weeks $1500 manufactures rebate has been there from the time I have been looking. Ask OTD price, some dealers quoted very low price to me when I asked them for OTD price they didn't get back.

    Hello:

I am from Delaware but the prices are too high here. The best deal I have so far for the EX with Wheel locks and Splash guards. Should I go for it??

    Base + Destination $25,781.00

Tire Tax & Registration Fee $24.00 (a MD tax)
    SUBTOTAL $26,053.00
DE Title Tax $976.99 (DE tax is 3.75%)

The vehicle price itself is fine.

You can, however, save yourself some money on the accessories. College Hills Honda (collegehillshonda.com) has those splash guards on clearance for $39.00 for a set of 4. IMHO, wheel locks on an Odyssey are more trouble than they're worth.
  • cantonacantona Member Posts: 5
Purchased an EX-L in Orange County 1 week ago.
    MSRP - $34,185
    Internet price - $29,176 + TTL

Inventory of EX-Ls appear to be running low with limited color choices. If you're looking for an EX-L, you may wish to buy now rather than waiting. However, lots of Touring models still available.

"College Hills Honda (collegehillshonda.com) has those splash guards on clearance for $39.00 for a set of 4"

    - agree with posting above. I ordered a set for a total of $55 after shipping charges. They appear fairly simple to install from the directions on-line. Dealer quoted me around $200 for installation.

In Ohio, got a price for an 2010 EX-L
29,200 (includes the 1500 rebate) + TTL paint sealant and interior protection.

Is there anything else we should try and get with the price?
  • nick_metronick_metro Member Posts: 22
Wanted to share this in the hopes that it will help someone. After shopping various dealers in central NJ the best deal I could find on an EX with RES was $26,594.00 plus tax, tags, acquisition fee, doc fee, and tire tax (gotta love the tire tax).

    Cheers,
    Nick

I just purchased the interior/exterior protection. If you have little ones like me its probably not a bad idea. BUT if you dont I would pass. All it is is a can or two of scotch guard and a wax job that is probably on the car already. But for the 6 bucks a month extra on my loan and knowing my little crumb crunchers it gave me piece of mind. I passed for paying on all the options I got, except that protection. It wound up that all the options they tried to get me to pay were already on the van ie: wheel locks, cargo mat, vin etching, etc. I think you might get all that stuff with it just don't accept to pay for them. Walk around the actual van you are buying and look to see if that stuff is there. If it is, I doubt they are going to remove it. They just want you to pay for it. Just my opinion.
